Great house with private beach access, very secluded. Surf fishing was good right infront of the house. The host communicates extremely well. Highly recommend!
The Location was the best we could have asked for! We had a blast and made some core memories with our family. Bed sheets were cleaned and beds were comfortable. The home had AC units in every room and the temp of the house was nice and cold and very comfortable. We truly had the best time and would def book again. Carol the host was very responsive. He is such a nice guy. Highly recommend

Beach Disaster
The property was dirty and poorly maintained. The owner admitted that someone had stayed in the house between the last cleaning and our arrival. Dishes were dirty. Clothes were present in drawers. The bathroom was largely unusable due to the maintenance and cleanliness. The draperies and furniture were stained. Some of the window a/c units were noisy and not functioning. The floors were dirty. The outside deck was littered with toys and trash. The master bedroom was barely passable. My daughter developed a rash after our stay. We could only stay for 12 hours until we just walked out. I requested a refund from the owner and I am still waiting. The owner did answer my calls promptly. The service and product were not as advertised. I will never book there again.
You can’t beat the ocean access and view. House is older. You have to walk through one bedroom and bathroom to get to the 4th bedroom which is a little awkward when you are in their for an extended period. The 4th bdrm occupants are stuck in their room or can’t get in their room until you are done. But again…..can’t beat the view! Just wish the windows would have opened……

Beach vacation
The beach and location were great. The house was very dirty. One of the beds had no sheets. Found the missing bedding in the clothes dryer. The owner was very nice and easy to communicate with but the house was not very nice or well prepared. Would not recommend to others.
The proximity of the house to beach access was fantastic. Carl was easy to work with and access with questions. Can't wait to visit Port Aransas again.
The beach access is unbeatable. Carl was very quick to respond and very accommodating, he's a super nice guy! The house was not fancy but it's roomy and it's perfect for a family with kids that wants easy access on and off the beach. Everything was clean and the house was ice cold when we arrived.

Beach is 10/10. House is not maintained. (Being old is not the issue)
Read previous negative reviews -known issues are not being addressed. Inside temp remains 80+ degrees & very humid. 2 bedrooms(BR) smelled overwhelmingly of mothballs. 1 BR windows/view blocked by heavy rug. Blinds in bathroom are too small for window & anyone walking past on community boardwalk at night can see in. BRs have heavily stained carpet. Front BR w/ single bed has a heavy urine odor. The owner Carl warned us not to overload the fridge w/ warm items -we didn’t & had to throw out perishable items because it didn’t cool. Carl reimbursed us but the xtra shopping trip was inconvenient. No internet for 2 days. We didn’t feel comfortable using the couches because of their condition. Cleanliness & supplies: had to purchase a sponge & xtra dish soap. We washed the dishes before use. Only 2 kitchen towels, no hand towels in bathrooms, 4 bath towels per bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, 1/2 full bottle hand soap per sink. Found a broom in the closet & was able to sweep up the dog hair & sand that had accumulated but there was nothing else for keeping things clean. The listing description isn’t accurate. Carl says that they still live/stay at the house but they also own the new condos in front of the house, per the West Palm Beach Estates website. Honestly, I can’t imagine his family staying there with the house in such condition. Overall, we didn’t feel comfortable in the house but stayed because of no other options.
This simple fact that this property was right on the beach made it all 100% worth every penny. The house itself could use a little upgrading, but we didn’t mind. It was perfect for our family vacation!

Older Property With Private Beach Access
Older home with direct beach access.
The beach access was the best part of the stay.
It was so nice to walk on the beach every morning without anyone else around.
There is no actual central A/C. All units are window units and did not keep up well with the heat. If not using this home in the middle of the summer, it wouldn’t be an issue.
For one of the bedrooms, you have to pass through the master and then through the bathroom. It’s a very awkward arrangement to say the least.
The furniture was broken (couches, bar chairs, and dining room chairs from the previous guests. Carl let us know about these issues right away.
Kitchen has very few pots/pans/baking sheets. There are plenty of coffee mugs and silverware though.
We had to clean the kitchen and bathrooms before using them. Lots of silverware was put back in the drawers dirty. Refrigerator had a strong fish odor and food debris.
Carl did respond quickly to the issues we had with the water leak and broken air conditioning.
We were able to host my parent’s 50th anniversary celebration because he allows events to be hosted. Most hosts declined to allow even simple events so we were very appreciative of this.
Overall, we made some great memories.
The odor of moth balls about knocks you over when you enter the door. The property owner, Carl, is trying to cover up mold smell. Recliners are broken, window coverings that cannot be removed, dark & dingy. It’s 77 degrees in the house and was 82 in one of the back bedrooms. A recent review (which I question if any of the reviews that are positive are real…just sayin’) says it wasn’t bad at 77 degrees…listen…it’s HOT in this house! We waited 45 minutes seeing if it would cool down and it never did. I told my friend there was mold in the house, she started looking and it didn’t take long…found some in a closet — all on the back of the door molding. I have pictures but don’t see where to load them. I called Carl, told him we couldn’t stay in a house with mold. He came and looked, rubbed the mold with his fingers and said, “Yes, that’s mold.” He also asked us if we found it anywhere else, like what other spots did they miss…geez. Carl shook my hand, told me he understood that we couldn’t stay there and he would refund my $4,500 that we had paid VRBO for the week. We left. I have had 6-8 phone calls with VRBO, about 3 phone calls with Carl (who of course now tells VRBO there was no mold) and have not received my refund. Carl refused to give me his email. Yes, I should have gotten something in writing from Carl. We’re from Texas where your word and a handshake still mean something. Lesson learned, may get a lawyer. Just please trust me…DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE!
This was our second time to stay at this home and we loved it even more this time! There is plenty of room for our large family (7 adults and 2 kids) to spread out and the view can’t be beat!! The beach access allowed us to come and go all day without getting burned and we didn’t have to eat sandy food. Carl was super helpful and friendly! We would love to make this house our rental every year!
The house and location are perfect for our party of 8 staying 5 days. The beach was beautiful and the house was clean. The layout is a bit different as there is a bedroom that the guest(s) get to by going through the master. They do share the bathroom, but that bathroom is big with separate doors so this did not bother anyone. That bedroom is perfect for singles/couple/kids to use and conveniently like a 'family suite'.
We had an age range from 37-77 and two adults stayed in the room with bunk bed and a twin bed with no problems. The layout of the bunk room is not like the ad. It is rearranged differently and the room is much bigger with distance between the beds.
The house is comfortable and all the appliances worked as expected. Being July, the house stayed cool for us (even cold sometimes!) and all the portables AC's in every room, living window units (2) and multiple fans in each bedroom worked as expected with no issues. The back deck had toys and floaties for others to enjoy. The outdoor shower was amazing to use after getting off the beach.
The beach was cozy and the water was further out where you had to walk to in low tide (to be expected) and the waves were a blast to be in. There is hardly any traffic and the only other people there might be the renters next door which had their beach area to occupy. This is really as advertised "secluded".
Saturday got pretty busy on the beach, but that is usually expected being a weekend.
We are planning to book aga
You couldnt ask for a better location if youre wanting beach time! Carl was very helpful and full of information about the area. Thanks for a great vacation!
Secluded beach front home. Loved our stay. House is a little dated, but if you are there for the beach and family time, this is it. Had so much fun and loved the semi-private beach space. I hope to come back next year.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! A quick walk across the boardwalk & you’re on the beach.
It’s pretty quiet on this part of the beach with not large crowds - which was awesome. We enjoyed having a more “private” beach.
The house was very roomy and plenty of beds for our group. The house could get a little warm during the day but keep the a/cs & fans going and it’s not bad.
Nice large deck where we did our shrimp boil & enjoyed sitting outside. Beautiful views of the ocean. Large kitchen with just about anything you could need. It was perfect!
This was such a neat vacation home we didn't want to leave! We had our wedding on the beach and the back patio was perfect for family and friends to hang out as well. Carl (host) was awesome to work with and quick to respond whenever we had any questions. There was plenty of space for everyone getting ready and during the party itself. Will definitely book again!
Really had a fun stay. The patio facing the ocean was our favorite place to hang out. The price was fantastic considering it was right on the beach. Will rent again.
The house was roomy enough for all of us; we did use an air mattress since the beds in children's room were too small for teenager.
The weather was not perfect but we all had a great time relaxing on the deck and beach. I would caution families with small children that some of the trucks driving on the beach are going too fast in my opinion.
There are so many great restaurants and things to do in Port A that I wish we would have stayed longer.
If you're wanting a private beach vacation this is the perfect place. We all had a great time!
