Tropical Retreat is now a monthly rental which means rates are lower per night so your vacation can be longer and in the same price range you would spend for a typical summer stay. One level, ground floor with a private patio, just 60 steps to the sand! Boardwalk and is just steps away from the sunset every night! Excellent location close to Belmont Park and within walking distance of all the attractions and eateries! This is a great value and very close to the beach, just steps away from the boardwalk. You will love our location. Only three doors to the shore, near the corner of Ocean Front Walk and Dover Court. Bright and sunny cottage-style unit with a big patio area and covered parking. We have two of these cottages sitting side by side. See photos that show two of each room and click on the map to see how close we are to the surf! Our Sandcastle is located on the beach OCEAN side of Dover Court in South Mission Beach, just 3 blocks south of Belmont Park. Enjoy grilling and dining while just steps away from the deep blue sea, the boardwalk, the beach, and the surf! Close to the action, yet quiet and relaxing for a peaceful stay. Your kids can play in the ocean right in front of lifeguard tower #12 in the summer months which is located right out on the beach where you will set up your day at the beach! Extra guests will enjoy the quality Sofa Sleeper in the living room, always a favorite place to sleep with the open beam ceilings and TV. The sofa sleeper is full-sized. This one-bedroom can comfortably sleep up to four. Lots of windows give this beach house character and a beach cottage feel. We love our furry family, but please leave your pets at home. We have a strict no pet-policy to keep our homes clean and allergy-free for all guests! The Famous roller coaster at Belmont park, local grocery markets, and oceanfront dining are all within a 2 to 3-block walk. Lots of bike, kayak, surfboard, and sailboat rentals are all nearby. Plenty of boogie boards and sand toys are available at the property for guest use. We have a guest laundry room with multiple washers and dryers that will help you pack lightly. One of the best rentals I have ever stayed at!! Location was perfect for both me and my children, so close to the beach, an amusement park and so many delicious restaurants!! Definitely recommend!!

Very quaint

We enjoyed staying here. It was close to the beach and restaurants. The owner was quick to respond to us with a minor issue and we appreciated that very much. We highly recommend this little bungalow. Hopefully be back next year!

We had a great time in this condo. It was a great location and very clean. It had everything we needed. The fact that there was parking is a HUGE plus. It is tight for larger vehicles but the other people that stayed in the condo were gracious enough to work together and everyone fit perfectly!!! We will stay here again.

Charming Beach House

My husband and I enjoyed this charming, small beach house; it was fine for the two of us but it would be a squeeze for 3 or 4. The best feature is the location; it is only a few steps to the beach; it was also fun to have Belmont Park a few short blocks away. Location is also convenient for many of the sights of San Diego including the Midway Museum and harbor, Point Loma, Sea World and Balboa Park.

Location, location, location

Steps from the strand made for an active escape. The space is perfect for two with a comfy king bed and seating both inside and out. Everything was very clean and communication was fantastic prior to our arrival. If you need a spot to hang your hat while exploring San Diego, 724 Dover Ct is a good choice.

Perfect Getaway

With the madness these days and 115deg I was looking for a breath of fresh air. I got it and much more. This was our first ever rental, but felt so comfortable throughout our stay and the process, thanks to the great Hosts. A quick 2min walk to Belmont park or markets and an even shorter walk to the sand. It is a beautiful little place yet big enough for a family of 4 to be so comfortable. No AC NEEDED! Trust the pics provided there is nothing hidden in the listing. Will Definitely be back.

Very Cute for Couple getaway

The home is very cute for a couple. We are a family of four with small littles and it was too crowded for us. It’s a perfect location though! The house has very thin walls so you can hear everything from the rental above and to the side. The pull out couch was very springy but they had extra blankets that we were able to use to pad it. The home wasn’t very clean. The dishes had food residue, the toilet had caked up residue around the hood hinges, the floor didn’t seem like it was swept or mopped, and we kept finding random hair on the bathroom mat and towels.

South Mission steps to beach

Great south mission place... but neighbors upstairs/next door can be noisy, as well as the airplanes taking off, which is basically all of south mission. The building is actually split into three. Two downstairs and one up. This is for the right side of the building as you're looking at it from the sidewalk. Nice patio, but cozy if you have neighbors. Parking is challenging. It took some practice to park my Explorer effectively. It's tight, but at least there's parking. Other places around, you may not be so lucky. Inside the place is smaller than we expected, but it's got a good vibe. Minimal pantry items, so bring what you need. We would stay here again. We love being on the ocean (vice bay) side. Great hosts!

2025 Six weeks visit with family

This is a great place for a retired couple who are also grandparents to rest, vacation with family in and around Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and greater SD, and play with our grandson on our patio or on the beach just steps away. The property has everything we needed to call it home for 6 weeks…full kitchen, grill on the patio plus a great propane “fire pit” for roasting marshmallows for s’mores! and for keeping warm while visiting on chilly January evenings!As with any home it had some maintenance surprises but when informed the owners were very quick to reply and repair. This is a quieter neighborhood than closer to Pacific Beach and very walkable to markets, restaurants and bars. Belmont Park is close but not too close to be noisy.We had a great time and want to come back again next year!

Good place to stay at the beach

This is a compact beach vacation cottage, not fancy or plush but comfortable. Close to the beach for walks and just a short walk to some nice dinners. Plenty roomy enough for two people. Very good king bed, and we slept well. Good shower and nice towels. They had a good Wi-Fi connection, which was needed as our Verizon cell phone service was bad (not owners fault). The walls are thin, however. Our neighbors were not sharing secrets, otherwise we might have learned them. A little noisy overhead. Thankfully, they quieted down at night. (And everyone in the neighborhood was wonderfully friendly.) Unit had a nice stove and fridge (I like to cook vacation breakfasts). So overall good. However, several little things could have made it more enjoyable. They did not leave enough dishwasher soap to run all our loads. Similarly, the clothes washer outside only had one laundry pod. The umbrella on the patio really needed some maintenance and oil, and was quite a chore to put up. Little things, but it detracted from what the unit could have been. Still, overall good place to stay.

Small bathroom need to add a rubber Matt in shower. Parking is very tight! So small car suggested. Owner very helpful. A luggage stand would be good to add.

Great location, small rental

We loved being so close to the beach, and the outdoor patio would have been amazing but the weather did not cooperate. This is a great rental for a couple, but it is very small and the mattress on the sofa bed is badly in need of replacement. This neighborhood is super fun, especially with the beach path so close by. We saw dolphins and whales from the pathway!

Perfect location just off the beach. Easy access everywhere we wanted to go and couldn't ask for more. Would definitely stay here again and the ability to book more of the house would be a great bonus with a group.

Work hard, play hard! We love the beach and decided this was a perfect combination of both. The stage is always set for relaxation here in South Mission!

What makes this property unique

We are so close to the boardwalk and ocean front surf! The quaint walkway is so nice and like a little beach village. The spacious patio has a great vibe for grilling and chilling after a day in the sun. The covered parking spot is right outside your door at the rear of the property with alley access.
