Our cottage is a delightful, newly remodeled, two bedroom, one bath house with one parking spot in the rear big enough for a mini van or medium size SUV. Our Home went through a significant remodel (2013) which included an all new kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and beautiful new cabinets. All new energy efficient windows throughout, new central heating and now AC!!, fresh paint inside and out, remodeled bathroom and all new furnishings and fine linens. The flagstone patio has seating for six, a large umbrella, and a natural gas barbecue. Tangiers Cottage is your home at the beach.

A beach house is not a beach house without the beach, and this house delivers! The beach on the bay, just a few steps from our front gate is quiet and peaceful, with warm white sand. For a little more action, head across the street to the ocean to enjoy the surf. This home has a strong water presence, only improving after sunset as the night lights of Riviera Drive light up the waters of Sail Bay. Enjoy the warm summer evenings on the front patio relaxing with your family.

You will be coming in off the beach early to enjoy this delightful beach retreat. The quaint, new kitchen is perfect for cooking up your favorite meal. It will keep you home for dinner instead of going out. It’s just too easy to open a bottle of wine and toss some fish or steaks on the Ducane grill. Make it a family night and watch a Blu-Ray movie (Red Box ¼ mile away) or your favorite show on HBO on the 42” LCD flat screen.

The master bedroom comes furnished with a queen size bed, large windows to enjoy the summer sun and a 26” flat screen TV with a connected Blu-Ray player. The 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed with a full size mattress on the bottom with a twin mattress on top. There is also a twin size blow up mattress if needed. The remodeled bathroom has a combination shower/tub, travertine floor and new fixtures throughout. There are ceiling fans in each room.

The beach house has a fully stocked kitchen (less food and drinks) with service for 12, plenty of brand new pots and pans, tons of bakeware, and appliances which include a gas range and stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator with ice maker. Nice bed and bath linens are provided as well. For your entertainment, there is Digital Cable TV which includes premium movie and digital music channels. There are two Blu-Ray players as well as a high-speed Wi-Fi Internet connection. For your beach days, there are boogey boards, some beach chairs, scads of beach towels and a beach umbrella available for your use. The house does NOT have a washer/dryer but there is a laundromat (Beach Laundromat) just 1/2 block from the house right on Mission Blvd.

This great getaway is settled nicely in the middle of everything that's fun about the best beach in San Diego. Park your car in the back then put your keys away, because not only will you be walking to the beach, but also to a number of restaurants, coffee shops, super markets, fabulous shopping, great night life and attractions during your stay. Mission Bay Park is just south where you can watch fireworks put on by Sea World every night, maybe rent a sail boat or go for a sun-filled boat cruise. There is always Belmont Park's 'Giant Dipper' roller coaster and Fun Zone the kids would love! Mission bay Sportcenter is just outside your door where you can try out a jet ski, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boats or even rent a power boat.

And you can’t miss the 8 mile boardwalk just a few steps from your patio! We highly suggest you rent some bikes from one of the many rental shops just around the corner and enjoy one of the best bike rides in all of San Diego. With the boardwalk hugging both the beach and bay, you’ll find numerous playgrounds, delicious restaurants, participate in some great people watching, and get exercise all at the same time!

The Mission Restaurant (3 minute walk) is wonderful for breakfast or step up to the Catamaran Resort and Spa (5 minute walk) to spoil yourselves. The Catamaran offers one of the most beautifully appointed spa experiences with exercise equipment, massage and other 5-star pampering for the most demanding vacationers. They serve a nice lunch and dinner as well. Saska’s restaurant (5 minute walk) serves great steaks, fish and has a very popular sushi bar.

San Diego is also home to Sea World, Lego Land, The San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. All are great family attractions only a few miles away. The Gas Lamp Quarter, Coronado Island, San Diego Harbor and La Jolla are more of the same, all within a short drive. Or maybe you're feeling a little more adventurous; you may want to drive 90 miles North on Highway 5 and hit Disneyland or Knott's Berry Farm.

Remember this is a complete Beach Home and not a condo. You will not be sharing any walls with anyone. Also, you are in North Mission Beach and do not need to worry about the bothersome airplane noise of South Mission Beach. You are also in the heart of Pacific Beach and can walk to all the wonderful shops up and down Garnet Avenue.

This beach house is our home during the off season and we request that you treat it with care. Your neighbors are close by, so loud or not so loud parties are not welcome. We don’t rent to students on vacation or vacationers who need a keg to have a few friends over. This is a home for those who want to kick it in Mission Beach and enjoy everything San Diego has to offer. Come be our guest...we know you'll love it!
