About this property

Charming Stone House in Provence with Garden – Peaceful Location in Boulbon

Experience the authentic lifestyle of Provence in our lovingly restored stone house in the heart of Boulbon – a medieval village full of charm and history, nestled among olive groves, orchards, and lavender fields.

The holiday home was rebuilt from two 16th-century ruins by an architect couple with great attention to detail and historical substance. It is located in a quiet little alley beneath the castle ruins of Boulbon – accessible only on foot and thus free from traffic noise. The view over the rooftops of the village and out into the vast landscape is simply enchanting.

Inside, you’ll find a harmonious blend of tradition and comfort: a natural stone wall in the living room highlights the home’s original character, a high-quality wood-burning stove provides cozy warmth on cooler evenings, and the leather seating area and large dining table invite you to relax and enjoy good company. The kitchen is fully equipped – including a dishwasher, microwave, and a cozy dining nook. Two bedrooms offer space for up to 6 guests – ideal for families or friends.

Outside, you can enjoy mild evenings on the covered terrace overlooking the garden, where you’ll find garden furniture and a barbecue. Nearby public parking with EV charging stations is available.

Boulbon itself is a hidden gem in Provence: a vibrant village with a strong community spirit, friendly locals, an excellent bakery offering fresh baguettes and croissants daily, small cafés, a takeaway pizzeria, restaurants, a library, a pharmacy, and a market – all within walking distance. And on Wednesdays, the large weekly market in Arles invites you to explore regional delicacies.

The surrounding area offers countless activities: hiking in the wild and romantic “Montagnette” hills with ancient mills, chapels, and scenic viewpoints; cycling along quiet country roads; canoeing on the Gardon River; swimming in the river at Collias or on the Mediterranean beaches; horseback riding in the Camargue; golfing in Barbentane. Or simply unwind with a glass of rosé under the olive trees, take in the colors and scents of Provence, and enjoy the simple, beautiful life. Our house is the perfect starting point for an unforgettable vacation full of nature, culture, and relaxation.

Wi-Fi, washing machine, dishwasher, satellite TV, fans, and bed linen/towels available on request. Pets welcome upon prior arrangement.

Our one month stay in Jann’s house and the surrounding area was special. The house is very attractively and tastefully restored with stone, wood and plaster working harmoniously inside and a lovely patio with plantings outside. The rooms are large, the furnishings comfortable, the kitchen and bath well-stocked, the washing machine most convenient, the internet reliable. There are also attractive posters and prints on the walls and fine views of the lovely village from large windows that allow the light to stream in. Its location is a short walk to a grocery store, boulangerie, butcher, a few restaurants, and parking. For attractions nearby: the history of the region is rich and deep from prehistoric to Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, industrial, and since, and abounds with medieval chapels, churches, abbeys, chateaus. And the landscape of olive and fruit orchards, vineyards, pastures, woodlands and mountains is stunning and the trails a walker/hiker’s delight. Our stay could not have been nicer.
