About this property
Romantic Sea Side Cottage known as "POI*13"
This romantic seaside cottage will steal your heart. Positioned in the small village of Milolii, (the LAST fishing village in Hawaii) in Captain Cook on The Big Island.
Boasting superior views of the sea just a stone's throw away from the ocean. This cottage sits on 1/3 of an acre filled will lush tropical vegetation. There are 4 different types of mature mango trees as well as varied fragrant plumeria to list just some of the lush landscaping for year-round enjoyment. Multiple seating, lounging, and amenities inside and out.
Take a short walk from the property to Da' Rock where you can find rock access to some of the best snorkeling on the island. Swimming with wild happy spinner dolphins from Da' Rock.
You can stay in hotel filled spaces, go out to eat for each meal, and hope to get a vacant spot on the beach for your vacation, or you can enjoy an entire home, views of the water from all over the house, private gardens, hammocks, gas BBQ, snorkel gear, coolers beach towels, movies, drinking water in a chilled cooler, even surfboards for use. The privacy of an entire home often less expensive per night, and more luxurious than a one-room hotel with double beds!
If you want to experience Hawaii in an unpackaged way with MORE of the home benefits than are available with hotel accommodations, this place may just be for you!
The kitchen is fully equipped for even holiday style cooking including but not limited to specialty items like Vitamix, crockpot, baking dishes, rice maker, air popcorn maker, coffee grinder (in case you pick up some local coffee), coffee maker as well as french press, mixer, bowls, toaster, teapot, water cooler with instant hot water as well.
*We even provide fresh drinking water and reusable travel water jugs!
Feel like you're at home in a friend's place on the beach, or you've located the most romantic, well-planned sanctuary on the Big Islands!
A great home base for exploration of the south side of the island. Sights like Green Sand beach, Punaluu beach, Southpoint, Hookena, Oceanview Saturday swap meet, possibly a trip into Naalehu to see the forest-like trees, grab the best malasada at the famous Punaluu bakery also shops at the Wednesday farmers market downtown.
Not a place limited to showers and sleeping like a hotel, feel like you're a part of Hawaii.
Please Note: the nightlife in Milolii has amazing starry nights without light/sound pollution. If you are looking for entertainment other than the show nature is putting on this location may be too remote for you.
Remember even though it's an island there are more diversity, varied environments, and amazing things to see than it's nearly impossible to get to it all.
Drive around, enjoy the changing views, experience the aloha that makes this island so magical!
*The owners occupy and live in the home, but will not be there during your stay.*
The premises are equipped with exterior cameras. No cameras are placed inside, or with any view of the interior of the property. Security cameras may be used to verify compliance with rental policies.
