Our hosts were welcoming. Ron was great at communicating, especially when we had a water heater problem. He got on it right away and had the problem fixed. The house was clean, comfortable and artfully decorated. The design, with high ceilings, was beautiful.

We had a wonderful time here. The house served as a great base camp for day trips to the Kaiula-Kona area, Punalu'u Black Sand Beach,Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and other local sites.The sweeping Pacific view from the Lanai is stunning, with gorgeous sunsets.The house had everything we needed and was very clean and cozy. Michele was a great host and even gave us a loaf of delicious ube sweetbread. The garden and the nighttime chirping of coqui frogs were very relaxing.If you are planning a trip to the west side of the Big Island and want a peaceful place to unwind after your adventures, this is the place to go. (And make sure to stop at the Panalu'u bake shop for a malassada or two ...or three).

The home is very well equipped and exceptionally well decorated with a variety of original artwork. It feels like a home rather than a rental. The on-site (downstairs) caretaker, Vee, is very caring and helpful without being intrusive. This was a very relaxing place to stay.

A Kona Paradise with Stunning Views and Vibrant Nature

We had an amazing stay at this wonderful Kona Paradise in Hawaii. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and at home. The house itself was cozy and well-designed, offering the perfect space to relax. The kitchen was a standout—extremely well-equipped with everything I needed to cook and feel right at home. The yard was a tropical paradise, filled with a beautiful array of plants, which really added to the overall charm of the place. Absolute Paradise!

As amazing as the photos on this listing are, they don't even really do justice to how spectacular it is. The view is as good as you can find anywhere in Hawaii, and we watched sunset every evening from the lanai. Easy access to lots of beaches without ever needing to go into Kona.

Paradise Found

Amazing place to stay on the Big Island, set in a veritable Garden of Eden. Beautifully decorated, furnished, and hosted, the house is quiet, with beautiful ocean views and spectacular sunsets. We were lulled to sleep every night by Island breezes and the chirping of tree frogs. We loved every second of our stay and we would love to stay there again. Great location too.

Very easy to book, perfect size for 3 generations. Saw whales right from the balcony and caught fish at Pebble beach. We left the fishing rod so try your luck. Loved our week in Paradise!

Excellent house on a slope

Great house! Excellent ocean view in a secluded area of South Kona. House is old but clean. Has everything we need for our family to cook, relax, snorkel. Very steep slope to walk back to the house from the beach below so make sure you drive.Host is amazing and always checking in to make sure we have everything we need.Location is a bit remote, grocery store is 20 minutes by car.But in general we enjoy our stay.

My husband and I love the ocean. We are both artists and have taken our home and turned it into an artistic getaway! We are attentive and responsive hosts (just read our many guest reviews!). We enjoy being in Hawaii and the Big Island, as it stills has the feeling of 'olde Hawaii,' and country. You will love the location and the smell of plumerias outside the bedroom windows. The blue warm ocean is perfect for swimming with much of the time sunny. We really love providing a wonderful vacation experience for our guests.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home as our retreat from the big city. We wanted a space where we could create and Ron, as a professional artist, could paint. So now Ron has created so many beautiful paintings that decorate this beautiful home. It makes it even more special for us.
We have alot of life around like geckos, that makes this property charming. Our little friends keep us company on the lanai!

What makes this property unique

You will enjoy the quiet and the privacy of the tropical gardens. The ocean and coastline view is 180 degree and you can see all the way down the coast on clear days! This is a very special property and we know you, your friends and family will enjoy all the great amenities, privacy and great beach location!! Everyone should know that we surrounded by a tropical environment and we have critters, like geckos around. Since we are surrounded by tropics, at times you can encounter our littles friends in the house. Geckos are completely harmless. And cute.
