A perfect place for a family getaway! We explored by day and relaxed by night! Great family space, screened in porch was divine. Enjoyed the firepit and great yard for kids to enjoy. Bed in room downstairs is very tall so keep that in mind. I am 5'4" and had to hop in.

Left the home in terrific shape and thoroughly enjoyed the property, the town of Mentone and the surrounding area. The cabin is just the way it was described. It was perfect for 2 couples as we each had a bedroom with attached bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed the screened porch and the fire pit. It’s private but close to everything. The only thing I would suggest is that you put a small step in the downstairs bedroom. The bed was comfortable but it is very high. At 5’3” in order to get in the bed we had to turn a small cooler upside down and step on it. We enjoyed our stay and would love to go again.PS If you go be sure to visit the hardware store on the corner and get some popcorn!And you must eat at the Hatter Cafe!

We stayed there for our daughter‘s wedding at Camp DeSoto. The location could not have been better. Just two minutes from camp, and it had everything we needed. The back porch was especially nice on an August evening. Everything inside was comfortable and clean. We were very grateful for the iron, ironing board, and steamer. It was also helpful to get the street address ahead of time, so that deliveries could be scheduled.

Everything was great except the bed downstairs was very high. I had to buy a step stool at Little River Hardware at the end of Dempsey Street where the house is located in order to get in and out of the bed. I’m 5’2” but my room mate is 5’6” and had to use the sideboard and headboard to get on the bed.

To all potential guests and prior guests of ours. Mary's feedback is "spot on" and we have received similar feedback from repeat guests and new guests. Last year, we had new bedroom furniture delivered w/ brand new mattresses. Unfortunately, we utilized the old Box Springs. They worked fine with the older mattresses; however, the new mattresses are much thicker and far more comfortable. To remedy this situation, as we told Mary via her reservation after she provided this private feedback to us, as the owner, I committed to getting brand new box springs for both sets of beds and the brand-new mattresses. The new "lower" box springs have been ordered, will be delivered to the home in the coming 2-3 weeks. I want to thank Mary for her honest and open feedback and for our other guests who brought this to our attention. Owner - Greg

We had a very relaxing, long wonderful weekend at this cabin. It’s in an awesome walking location with local access to shops and a great sidewalk for running! Mentone Market was a life saver and has incredible food, also the Farmers Market on Fridays is great to walk down to and check out! The owner was very accommodating and I really appreciated the approval when our pet sitter canceled and we had to bring along our pup last minute. This cabin is an excellent spot for a great little staycation with the family we will ABSOLUTELY be back again!

We loved our stay here. The place is really clean and nice. You can tell the owners take pride in the property and want it to feel like a home away from home. Fantastic fluffy towels that smelled amazing, comfortable beds, night lights, etc. little things make a place feel more welcoming. We had a wonderful girl’s weekend and would definitely stay here again!

This property absolutely checked all the boxes for us. Communication with the owner and manager was excellent. Checking in was easy. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The inside and outside spaces met our needs perfectly. The fire pit area outside was a great place to hang out. During two of our four days there, we had a lot of rain; however, the large screened in porch was a great area to hang out during the rain. The furniture on the screened-in porch was very comfortable. Having a table for eating meals on the porch was really nice. Lighting in the kitchen is very important to us, so we were extremely happy with how well-lit the kitchen was. Also, we love to cook most of our meals, so we were pleased that the kitchen had everything we needed. The location of the house to the river, to DeSoto Falls State Park, and to downtown Mentone and Valley Head was an added plus. We love walking, so the sidewalk that led into town was great. It was really great for walking the dog. We couldn’t ask for a better location. It was quiet and peaceful and secluded but close to civilization. We would absolutely stay there again the next time we’re in Mentone.

The property was the best furnished we have ever encountered, including a loaded bird feeder in the back yard, which gave us a good number of hours of enjoyment. A good base of operations from which to explore the nearby waterfalls and hiking opportunities.
