About this property
Forest Retreat over 1 acre, Hot Tub, Log Furniture, Wildlife!
Why choose our cabin? We own and operate it ourselves and take a lot of pride and care in the cabin AND in taking care of our guests. We are responsive and a phone call or text away for any of your needs. So book your stay to relax and soak away your cares while watching the shadows of the flames of the lava bowl dance against the 1+ acres of Pines and Aspens. You might even see a shooting star!
October 2022 we updated the kitchen with granite countertops throughout and stainless steel appliances! Also, Unlimited WiFi! We took extra care in furnishing our place with Colorado log mountain furnishings. The walk to the lake is only .5 a mile.
OHV trails are within 4 miles of our retreat! Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast! Driving in, watch out - the signs indicate Elk Crossing and they mean it! We have a herd of over 50 that meander along the road coming into our property.
Located within 5 miles of groceries, restaurants, and gas stations. We are quick drive to Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Woodland Park and approximately 25 minutes to Manitou Springs/Garden of the Gods/Colorado Springs.
After a day of hiking, white water rafting, fishing, boating, cross-country skiing or enjoying the nearby attractions come back to our cabin and enjoy the fully stocked kitchen (Kuerig and regular coffee maker). Sit back and relax from French doors on the upper deck while grilling on the gas grill. It is surrounded by forest and LOTS of wildlife. Enjoy your favorite shows our ROKU HDTV 50" TV, and check out our selection of movies. Our retreat has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room, family room, kitchen, dining and laundry room with large washer/dryers. It's perfect for extended families to have a space!
Since we personally own, operate, and use our vacation home (not managed by a management company), we take extra care in our cleaning practices, regardless of the extra expense. We use clorox wipes/Lysol on all surfaces and touchpoints. Also, we use additional deep cleaning sanitizers in addition to our laundry soaps on our linens and bedding. I was a Director of HR for Marriott Hotels, so, I know what we are doing is going beyond industry and CDC standards. We hope you will consider our "home away from home" for your vacation. Also, the Pikes Peak region has a long history of hospitality for those who have sought a safe, clean space to heal from respiratory illness. Our nickname was once “Sun City” due to our 300 days of sunshine per year and our 1,106,604 acres of Pike National Forest, Garden of the Gods, and other parks and natural sites are the ideal way to Social Distance!
This retreat is supplied with a binder filled with information about the property as well as the local area! This includes brochures on area attractions. Text me with any questions! I am responsive and happy to help make your stay the best!
We do not allow pets, and you must be 25 years old to rent this property.
Please note*** This is a NON-Smoking/vaping home. Cigarettes may be smoked outside away from windows and doors. Cigarette butts must be placed in the can provided on the back deck.

About the host
Hosted by Henry and Robyn Reed

Hi, Henry and I have lived in Colorado for 32 years and love the Rocky Mountains. It has been a wonderful place to raise our kids. We have explored many of the attractions here and there are things for all ages to enjoy!
When we moved to Colorado, we could hardly wait until our children were old enough to explore with us. When their grandparents retired here, they began teaching them how to fish for trout at the Rampart Range Reservoir. Being able to catch their limit has never been an issue!
We hope that you take the time to come to Colorado to relax, have fun and make some great memories!

Why they chose this property
We spent a lot of time looking for a special place to get away and relax. When we found this property, we fell in love with the views and wildlife. Each time we have stayed here we have had deer come into the backyard early morning and evening.
Having a place large enough for our immediate and extended family was important in case we wanted to get away to celebrate a special occasion. This mountain home's layout lends itself to privacy for more than one family.
Be ready for a photo opportunity when driving to the house because elk herds frequent the area!

What makes this property unique
We are one of the only cabins in the area where we offer a lava bowl and a hot tub (impeccably maintained).
