Welcome to Hus Blommekulla, a secluded historic cottage in Småland, located near Högsby in the heart of the region. The historic wooden house dates back to 1789 and is set in complete seclusion in the middle of the forest. Guests looking for peace, nature and an authentic Swedish experience will find an exceptional retreat here, far away from everyday life.
The holiday home offers approximately 80 m² of living space and accommodates up to 6 guests. It has 3 separate bedrooms. The historic character of the house has been preserved to this day and gives Hus Blommekulla a very special atmosphere.
In the cosy living area, a stove and an open fireplace create a warm and comfortable atmosphere, especially on cooler days. Firewood is available for an additional fee.
The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and provides everything needed for a nature-focused holiday stay.
The bathroom has a shower and a dry toilet. Electricity is supplied by solar power, so there are no additional electricity costs.
A particular highlight is the covered terrace overlooking the greenery. Here you can start the day with a cup of coffee, enjoy the tranquillity of the forest or spend a long summer evening surrounded by nature.
The house is set on an approximately 2,000 m² natural plot. Thanks to the secluded location, you have the surroundings entirely to yourselves and can experience the forests of Småland directly outside the door.
Hus Blommekulla also offers special opportunities for anglers and guests who enjoy spending time on the water. Two rowing boats are available during your stay.
The first boat is located at a small lake only around 300 metres from the house. A second rowing boat is available at a larger lake approximately 1.5 kilometres away. This allows you to discover the surrounding area from the water, go fishing or simply spend relaxing hours on the lake.
The forests around Högsby are ideal for hiking, exploring and observing nature. Depending on the season, you can also pick berries and mushrooms and experience the Småland landscape in its original form.
Hus Blommekulla is also conveniently located for day trips. Numerous lakes, swimming areas and natural areas can be found throughout the region.
If you would like to discover Sweden’s glassmaking tradition, you can take a trip to Glasriket. Around Kosta, Nybro and other places, you will find well-known glassworks and manufacturers.
For families, a day trip to Vimmerby and Astrid Lindgren’s World is worthwhile and takes around one hour by car.
Kalmar and the Baltic Sea coast are also suitable for an excursion. There you can discover the well-known castle, historic old town and various swimming areas and coastal destinations.
If you would like to see a moose up close, there are also several moose parks in the region around Kosta.
Hus Blommekulla is available to book from April to September. Dogs are welcome for an additional fee. Final cleaning is professionally provided, and bed linen and towel packages can be booked as an optional extra.
A refundable security deposit of €200 is required for the stay.
Hus Blommekulla is not an ordinary holiday home, but a piece of Swedish history surrounded by nature. The secluded forest setting, historic house from 1789, two rowing boats at two different lakes, fireplace and stove, as well as the covered terrace provide excellent conditions for guests who want to experience Småland in an authentic, peaceful and nature-oriented way.
