It is an excellent view and a wonderful location. Needs some updates (toilet flush took 15 seconds of holding the handle - some of the doors were a little rickety) but was comfortable. LOVED the view and location was a short walk to Trunk and Cinnamon.

Property was excellent for a couple, exactly as described. Host was welcoming and everything was clean and in order. Location is great - a very short walk to Trunk Bay. We have stayed on St John many times and this property is perfect for two people.

If you want an amazing view, the most comfortable bed, with Trunk Bay and other beaches right down the road, book this place. We came home rested and loved our time on St John. There is easy parking, beach chairs, coolers, etc. for use. We spent so much time on the balcony! My husband has mobility issues, and there are many stairs to navigate, but he did fine. Bring nightshades if you like to sleep in, or embrace the beautiful sunrise and be the first on the beach. You can eat at lunch at the beach restaurants and come back for an afternoon nap! A great place to call home!

Amazing place

This is a beautiful property that exceeded our expectations, the views are incredible. Had all the necessary amenities, was clean, and beautiful artwork, architecture, and furniture. Tommy was attentive and very helpful for anything at all you need from check in, general questions, and check out. Very convenient 1-2 min drive to both cinnamon and trunk. Grounds and architecture were sooo cool. Highly recommend, I will definitely stay here when we return to St. John.

We loved the view and the location of this spectacular rental. The only drawback was the mosquitos getting in and biting us. It would be wonderful if you could screen the doors out to the patio to keep them out or install HVAC in the main area!

Everything we hoped for!

This suite was perfect for our visit to St John. The view is lovely, the location perfect for getting to nearby North Shore beaches, and the furnishings and linens are very comfortable, especially the gorgeous bedroom tucked into a stone tower next to the main structure. The small kitchen was well equipped and the grill wasn’t operate for grilled fish. The manager Tommy was friendly and informative about island happenings. We plan to return for another visit in the future.

Fantastic, breath taking location

The property was fantastic. The scenery was breathtaking. My family and I loved it. The property was exactly as described. We encountered no problems. The property manager, Tommy, was great and very helpful. The car rental lost our reservation for a jeep. Tommy was a tremendous help in assisting us in renting a jeep at the last minute. We definitely will stay there again.

Amazing View!!!!!!

This place has an amazing location and view. The only problem was the roof leaked when it rained and there was no way to keep mosquitos out so we woke up everyday with new bites. They also did not provide shampoo, conditioner or lotion, which has been standard at all other VRBO’s we’ve rented so that was a surprise to us so we had to purchase our own after arrival.

Jenni, We apologize for the weather. In the tropics wind-driven rain is always a problem and brings out the mosquitos. There was an unusual amount of rain. Richard

Amazing location

Would advise reading the listing and *just the bedroom* is air conditioned. Great location and view, but hot and sweaty stay. If we were high maintenance, we would have left after night 1. Made the most of it but wouldn’t stay here again. Felt a little duped with the listing.

Ideal location

The view. Great location. Excellent communication. A smidge pricey and there are some things in the unit that could be updated. Bed being too soft was our most significant issue.Unrelated to the property: Roads on St. John require continual attention. Most were fine for our Nissan Kicks—and you are better off in a smaller car if you are only 2 people. I should have stayed off Highway 206. For that, a jeep would have been better. Also skip going to Fort Frederick Ruins.

View: StunningPotential of Property: UnparralledReality: a leaking roof in the master bedroom that the owner knew about and ant infestationWe loved the view, the sea breeze through the unit, the beautiful wood floors. We were surprised by the marks on the wood ceiling beams and mostly the ant traps - but we were going to stay anyway. When the rain started, I noticed a fine mist in the master bedroom. As it progressed, multiple leaks/rain in multiple locations in master bedroom. The friendly property manager responded via text immediately. We left the Gatehouse and when we returned there was a tarp draped over the master bedroom with brown water weighing it down (from the leak in the roof). We decided to check out at this point. I text the property manager that we would pay full price for the nights we stayed but I wanted a refund on the remaining days. The property OWNER called and said he wouldn't refund us "due to weather". He emailed stating he had moved another couple "when the bed got damp." He knew there was an issue and chose not fix it or update the VRBO listing. VRBO understood the "Health and Safety" issue this caused and refunded us for the remainder of

As an owner of 19 properties on St. John, many of them for over 30 years, all on VRBO, it amazes me the length some guest will go to receive a refund when the weather alert predicts flash flooding, heavy rain for next 3 days, do not venture out, stay in place. Fortunately, in over 30 years, this is the first person I have encountered so dedicated to receiving a refund so she could fly out early to avoid three days of rain. We did everything possible to accommodate this person during her stay and this is how she thanked us. She is not welcome back. Great Get Away

This property was a great get away. We enjoyed having a private beach to ourselves within walking distance of the house. There was only one day where we encountered other people on the beach and the property is conveniently located close to town for groceries or grabbing dinner. It's also less than 5 minutes to other public beaches with activities. The property is very comfortable for two and is well appointed. Thomas, the property manager, was very communicative and helpful. I'd love to come back.

The perfect place

We stayed 4 nights at the Peter Bay Gate house. What a great comfortable property with stunning views from every window! Centrally located and yet felt secluded, therefore a great combination. Tommy welcomed us and was super attentive, and helpful. Really went the extra mile to give us a seamless and great experience. It was hard to leave when our vacation was over! <3
