Not only is the beach peaceful for wonderful walks, sunbathing and swimming, but also enjoyable for fishing in front of the condo, at the intracoastal waterway (up the beach) or at the fishing pier (a short distance down the beach). A large swimming pool is located in the complex. Pavilion with picnic tables, grills, basketball court and play area with pirate ship is available for your use. The excitement when the sea turtles hatch is very catching. In fact, the turtle hospital is just a short drive to Surf City and open for tours. You may be interested in kayaking, boating, surfing or other water sports in the ocean or in the intracoastal waterway. (Rental stores are located on and off the island). Family restaurants are located on the island or just across the bridge on the mainland. Shopping is available on the island or mainland, or you may wish to take a drive south to the historical town of Wilmington or north to the town of Jacksonville. Many churches are located on the island and mainland.
