The cottage is situated in a small farming village with about 8 scattered house, very quiet and peaceful about 15 minutes from the fishing town of Dingle, 5 minute drive from Ballyferriter Village with 3 pubs/hotel/supermarket/restaurants/Heritage Centre/RC Church and a beautiful new play ground.
The cottage is surrounded by hills, mountains (which was the film setting for 'Ryans Daughter' and 'Far and Away' 'so bring your walking boots )and the vast Atlantic Ocean.
There are many archeological sites close by---the Behive huts along the beautiful 'Slea Head'drive which dates back to 2000 BC -Galarus Oratory and many more. (a must to see)
The cottage has it all--beautiful sweeping views--the perfect location -easy access to the fishing town of Dingle and the genuine Irish cottage ambiance --you can walk through the pastures where sheep and lambs graze peacefully to the cliffs and the ocean --- private access to a priceless view--- directly from the cottage there are several beautiful walks and a little café few minute walk from cottage.
The town of Dingle with many fine Restaurants and pubs with traditional Irish music in pubs everynight.
There is Supermarkets--quaint little shops and local artisan stores not forgetting the famous Dingle Dolfin 'Fungi' which is a must to see and many more wonderful things to see In Dingle for children and adults.
The cottage is located in the heart of the West Kerry Gaeltacht where the Irish is the spoken tongue.
The Dingle Way is on your door step also the Wild Atlantic Way.
Ceann Sibeal or 'Sybil Head ' with a beautiful Golf Course only 5 minute drive and a beautiful secluded beach 5 minute walk from cottage or a beautiful private walk through the fields to the ocean also numerous beaches close by.
The Blasket Island is only few minutes drive or a fantastic costal walk also boats trips to the Island is available during the Summer season
Getting Around.
You need transport as there is very little public transport but taxies or available.
A good way to get around the Dingle Peninsula is to hire a bike or an electric bike in Dingle town.
