About this property

Knuthausen. Living in a Green Setting Near the Heath & Hamburg

Welcome to our beloved vacation apartment in Jesteburg—your little retreat amidst forests, Lüneburg Heath and open landscapes. With two bedrooms, a spacious living and dining area, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a sunny balcony, it is the perfect choice for couples and families alike. Heath excursions, peaceful woods, the Heidschnuckenweg trail, Undeloh, Wilsede, and more are waiting to be explored. You want more? Then Hamburg is just a short train ride away! Get ready for a wonderful time! :-)

The apartment features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a balcony, and a spacious living room.
The larger bedroom has a 180x200 cm bed with a comfortable height for easy access.
The smaller bedroom - our "green room" - has two beds: a 100x200 cm bed and (attention!) a shorter bed measuring 90x188 cm. Due to its non-standard size, it requires a specific child-sized mattress, which is somewhat thinner; however, the high side panels provide excellent built-in protection against falling out. That said, adults have slept in it and found it perfectly adequate.
Both rooms are equipped with pre-installed cables offering various connection options, such as USB-C ports, so you don't have to carry and plug in a multitude of chargers.
The bathroom is between the two bedrooms and has a bathtub with a shower, storage space, and, of course, a toilet.
A large hallway connects these rooms to the kitchen, balcony, and living room. While the kitchen houses a small breakfast table, the living room features a large dining table and a cozy sofa that invites you to relax.
The entire apartment was renovated in 2026; photos of the living room will follow shortly, as it is the final room we are currently finishing. You can already view a photo of the sunset and the fields from the living room window in the gallery.

The apartment is located on the first floor and is easily accessible via a large staircase. Directly in front of the building, there is a parking space for your car as well as a lockable shelter for bicycles or similar items. Two key cards are provided for the duration of your stay to open the main entrance and the apartment door upstairs.

We’ve installed 100% wool carpeting - except in bathroom and kitchen. Why? Wool carpet is cozy, feels great underfoot, and traps dust, making it suitable for allergy sufferers. Really! We’ve tested it!
At the accommodation, you’ll find plenty of routes and suggestions for things to see, eat, and explore in the area. You can find all this information in the kitchen on the large board.
The Buchholz train station, featuring a large park-and-ride lot, is a five-minute drive from the accommodation. You can reach Hamburg city center by train in 24 minutes.
Upon request, we are happy to provide a baby cot, high chair, baby monitor, children's tableware, etc., in advance at no extra charge. Childproof electrical outlets are a standard feature.

About the host

Host profile image

Why they chose this property
