Pine Lodge is a fully furnished family owned and operated cabin that sleeps 12 comfortably with three large bedrooms and an extremely oversized loft (more so like an upstairs in design).
The main (entrance) floor offers a spacious living area including a open floor plan concept of a Living room containing a wood stove, dining room and fully equipped kitchen that connects out to the large 1/2 wrap around porch offering a gas BBQ, making this an ideal cabin for large family meals. The main floor also provides guests with a full bathroom, three bedrooms; the first being a queen bedroom having French doors opening up to the private back porch and covered hot tub. The second and third full size bedrooms offer private additional room for 2 additional couples.
After ascending the hand crafted spiral staircase off of the living room guests pleasantly arise into the great loft encompassing a television/gaming entertainment area offering a double futon convertible bed at first sight. The loft also provides additional sleeping for 6 in twin beds with a 1/2 bath. Within the open bunk area of the loft the young and young at heart will find a foosball table for hours of entertainment! The loft offers a private balcony through yet another set of French doors with relaxing/star gazing seating overlooking the backyard and family circle recreational burning area.
Guests can enjoy nightly fires with friends and family utilizing the wood burning outdoor fireplace while enjoying the peaceful sounds of the wilderness.
The cabin sits just minutes from National Forest and the Cowlitz River.
Skiing, fishing, kayaking, hunting, mountain biking, hiking and wild mushroom picking are all able to be done in the nearby forests with Mt. Rainer National park being just minutes from the cabin.

About the host
Hosted by Pine Lodge

Husband and wife Joseph Taiwo and Irene Botero own Pine Lodge. They, along with sons Patrick and Jeremy live in the greater Seattle area. Jeremy, is a 2016 U.S. Olympian in the decathlon! Yes he made the U.S. team and came in 11th place in Rio! He followed in his father's footsteps, as Joseph was a two-time Olympian in track and field in 1984 and 1988.
Why they chose this property
Joseph and Irene designed their cabin and construction was completed in 2003 by Randle Woods, a local artisanal construction company. All of the supporting deck logs came from trees felled on the property as did the large trunk supporting the unique spiral staircase to the second floor. The owners fell in love with the area while staying at a friend's cabin in Packwood and fulfilled their dream of building and owning a vacation cabin that they and their two boys could enjoy year round. Winter recreational activities abound in the area with snowboarding, skiing, sledding and snowshoeing at White Pass, and snow-machining on local trails, just 20 minutes up the road. In the summer, the area lakes and streams which are usually stocked provide loads of fishing opportunities. Hiking is plentiful in the surrounding national forests, and in Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier National Parks. One of our favorite summer activities is enjoying a scenic 2 hour drive over White Pass into the Yakima Valley to enjoy area wineries. The cabin itself provides a wonderful opportunity to relax in the hot tub, to play board games with family and friends, to star-gaze, play a round of croquet and corn hole in the back yard, roast marshmallows in the fire pit and to explore Coal Creek/ National Forest, right across the road accessible using specific easement points posted next to the front door.
What makes this property unique
Across the street from the cabin is Coal Creek & the National Forest which is accessible using specific easements/ trails posted on a map next to the front door. One specific trail leads to rock slides and water falls upstream. It is a well kept community secret that deserves to be shared! Please enjoy our cabin as much as we have over the years and make yourself at home in this beautiful location!!
