2023 Ocean Bay Park

This was our second year staying at this property and everything was amazing, same as last year. We will continue to try to stay at this property when we vacation on Fire Island.

Lovely and rustic!

We really enjoyed our stay. The home is very basic but comfortable and is right at the edge of lovely parts of the island. Grill and outdoor shower were great amenities. Thanks, Frank!

Fire Island Vibe

we had a great time - weather was fantastic, grilled most nights, 3 minute walk to ocean... green, flower filled deck space with birds & butterflies... great spot to capture the Fire Island vibe... just chill.

Short, but perfect stay

Only stayed for 2 nights, but it was perfect. House has a great breeze from windows, so no need for air conditioning. The bikes were great to have to ride to store or dinner. Really short easy walk to beach. Would loved to have stayed longer!

This was a perfect location. The garden is adorable. Sitting out there in the mornings bird watching and smelling the sweet flowers was so nice. Just a short walk to the beach too. We had the most wonderful time.

Great week at the beach!

The house was exactly as advertised and just what we were looking for. It’s open and comfortable. We loved the different outdoor deck spaces, the beautiful gardens, and the outdoor shower! Quiet location with an old Fire Island feel. Easy back and forth to the beach. We would definitely come back!

Lovely beach weekend

Myself and five friends spent the weekend at Frank and Mara’s and it was perfect! We enjoyed being so close to a beautiful beach and walking distance to many places to eat. The house was cozy and a great home base to explore the island. Frank came to get us from the ferry and gave us a number of helpful recommendations. We’d definitely return!

2-couples getaway

Frank & wife(hosts) were very cordial and helpful getting from ferry to their home. Bikes and amenities made the weekend fun. Most everything was as described on Vrbo site except the first floor bedroom was cramped and the bed had seen plenty of use. Suggest replacement. Thanks.

Charming beach house

The house was charming, the decks were spacious, and the gardens were spectacular. Kitchen was well stocked and there were bikes and beach equipment. Our only recommendation would be to update the listing to more clearly reflect the “bedrooms.” The downstairs bedroom has a full size bed. The upstairs is a large loft, open to the rest of the house. There is a queen bed on one side connecting to two twins on the other. This is a nice set up for families, but was challenging for 4 adults/couples. Overall, a lovely stay.

Charming house! Wonderful vacation!

We (family of four) had a great time on our summer vacation at Frank's house. The property has everything you might need for a relaxing and pleasent stay. House itself is charming and located within a close proximity to the beach in a quiet part of the Fire Island. There is plenty of space inside. Three ceiling fans and plenty of windows create a very comfortable breeze inside. Kitchen is well equipped and had everything a family of four might need. Outside there is a nice deck with plenty of space, a beautiful garden and a few areas with good shade to stay on a beach chair for an afternoon nap. There is outdoor shower, body boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and four nice fat tire bikes available for the guests. We've made a daily use of the bikes going food shopping, taking nice trips around the island during the day or biking to the restaurants at night. The beach near the property is quite gorgeous and does not have the day crowds like many other beaches on Fire Island. Communication with the owner was very pleasant. He responded almost instantly to our requests and questions. Overall we had a five star experience and will be happy to come back next year.

Wonderful weekend

Frank’s home is quite lovely- the pictures do not do it justice at all. We were a small group of women getting together to celebrate a milestone birthday. Everything about our stay was easy from booking to checkout, and Frank was so helpful in getting us situated- he made us feel welcome and right at home from the beginning. Location is great- steps to the beach, a short walk to OB and close enough to everything fun in OBP-but not TOO close for comfort! I would love to come back and stay again, anytime.

Casual and Cozy

Everything you could need in the kitchen. Outdoor shower was the only shower working but actually quite enjoyed it!!! Frank met us at the ferry and gave us the grand tour. Even pulled a wagon full of our stuff on a very hot day!

perfect getaway

We spent a week at the house. it was perfect for what we wanted. 1 block from beach, 1 block from bay . a small local town nearby and a 10 minute bike ride to the more busy congested part of the island. Our friends and family enjoyed cooking together in the open kitchen area that was well supplied. the multiple decks allowed us to really relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Great location, easy to get to and access the beach and the town. Just wish we had realized that there was no air conditioning as we were stayed there in the middle of a heat wave.

Wonderful stay in Ocean Bay Park

This was our second stay at Frank and Mara's house — like last time we had a wonderful time. We love the spaciousness of the house, the garden and outdoor lounge areas, the outdoor shower, and the proximity to the beach. Frank and Mara are superb hosts. The house has bikes and is a short walk or bike-ride away from Seaview and Ocean Beach.
