Located at the Southern end of Deep Creek Lake in the tranquil community of Thousand Acres is a fabulous home known as Bear Trap. Step inside and enjoy gleaming hardwood floors, plush leather furnishings, and a 70 inch Smart TV Flat Screen in the Great Room. A bathroom with a shower stall is located on the main floor as well. To the right of the entrance, you will find your dream kitchen complete with gourmet countertops, stainless steel appliances, and plenty of storage space. Imagine creating scrumptious meals for you and your family as you take in the amazing lake views shown before you. The large dining table will comfortably accommodate you and your guests. In the warmer months enjoy your deck access and grill out on the deck with the provided gas grill.

The custom-made staircase and railing will lead you to the upper level where you will find beautifully decorated bedrooms. A bedroom with a queen will keep you comfortable as you dream of Deep Creek adventures. The second bedroom is outfitted with a queen bed and a 42 inch flat screen TV as well as a private balcony. This is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee for a leisurely start to your day. Adding to your sleeping space on the upper level is a den with a duo bunk and amazing lake views. A full bath with a uniquely tiled floor is also located at the top of the staircase.

Perfect Lake Side Retreat

Right on the water, excellent location in a quiet cove for floating and swimming. Great open concept for hanging out with large table beside kitchen. Pleasant surprise with a basketball hoop in the driveway. Loved the deer every morning in the yard. Will definitely return.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time and the place was very cozy. The only negative things were that the linens were not at the house when we arrived and we had to contact the office. Thankfully, the linens were delivered much later that evening after getting a second confirmation with the office. Also for whatever reason some of the lights would not come on/light switches didn’t work and the only way to get them on was to turn the breaker for those specific lights which were apparently tripped or turned off… Otherwise the stay was a great vacation with a perfect balance of relaxation and fun and games. We can’t wait to come back again!

Wonderful family getaway on the lake

We spent a wonderful week at the lakeshore with our 2 kiddos under 3. Kitchen was well equipped, house very clean and just as shown in listing, property manager recommended a grocery delivery service that worked well. Only comment is that listing mentions 2 bedrooms, which is technically true if a bedroom is a room with a built-in closet. It’s actually 3 bedrooms: 2 queen with built-in closets and 1 room with bunk bed and armoire.

Good location.

Quiet location, nice yard, good view of the lake. No AC was an issue on 80+ days. House was still being cleaned at 4pm check in and we had to wait which is unacceptable. The house and hot tub were still dirty.

Lake house retreat

The house and property at Bear Trap were wonderful for our family getaway ! No AC was uncomfortable at times, but plenty of fans to keep the air flow upstairs - screens on sliding doors need repaired so they can be left open. LOTS of large carpenter ants in every room, we had to buy raid to keep them at bay, I had to wear socks/shoes constantly to avoid stepping on ants. The dock is perfect for fishing and star gazing and we made many camp fires at night. We enjoyed home cooked meals and the deep creek lake area is a favorite of ours to explore. Overall a nice time was had by all at Bear Trap.

Quick getaway

Stayed 3 nights. 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Ample room. Clean and smelled good. Hot tub was clean and relaxing. Central air conditioning. Washer and dryer. Kitchen was equipped with numerous pots/pans. 15min away from town and away from the crowds. Had neighbors, but not on top of you. It was quiet. Was in the woods as we prefer. Relaxing setting. Minimal traffic. Sliding door by dinning room table was difficult to slide so we didn’t use that door. It was pleasant sitting on the private dock. Made s’mores at night by the fire pit. Beautiful property and would definitely stay here again. The pictures don’t do this house justice. It looks nicer in person.

Great stay!

We loved our time at Bear Trap. The house was clean, located in a private, quiet location and the week went very smoothly. We enjoyed swimming and fishing off the dock, nights by the fire and dips in the hot tub. Not having A/C was only an issue the last day when the air was not moving. (We stayed middle of July) fans were provided but the temp Inside was warmer than outside. We also ran out of propane and had to wait till the next day for a refill. An extra tank would have been great. Dining room chairs showed many repairs and should be replaced. I would stay again in a heart beat!

Very relaxing getaway

We really enjoyed this property. it was as described, but we were surprised when we realized this home does not have A/C. The only other thing I would suggest is a new mattress in the primary suite. We enjoyed the dock, campfire and cornhole, but the yard was in desperate need of mowing.

It’s a shame

Location is great! Taylor Made is a disaster! Will never rent through them again. Initially received several different scenarios for how payments were to be made....couldn’t get straight answer so used the last one received. Received check in instructions with no entry code. Emailed for entry code and received response “we have sent you your check in instructions (I’m not making that up!) called Saturday and got a new code...it was the wrong code! Called for a new code while waiting at the door to get in. Got one after a few tries. Had problem with lights...called Saturday and then again Sunday and told someone would be there within the hour....hadn’t seen anyone when we left the following Saturday. Told towels were supplied so didn’t bring any...received one towel per person (again I’m not making this up!) House is okay ....nothing special for the cost. Little things like no towel racks in bathrooms, no covered or screened porch....dock extremely difficult to get onto....step sooooo high, impossible for some to get onto. House had three bedrooms and seating in family room was one chair and a sofa. Kitchen was okay, adequately equipped. Mattress in master bedroom felt like a bunch of pillows stuffed in a sheet, terrible.

Coffee maker had very old grounds in it and was caked with mold. Fortunately, Taylor-Made had a spare. Quirks? Nowhere to hang a towel in the upstairs bath. Many champagne flutes but no bowls for salad/cereal/soup etc. Temperature difference between 1st & 2nd floors quite substantial at times (no AC). Occasional random behavior of ceiling lights on 1st floor. Etc.

It would be a 5 if: There is not AC and they need to maintain the screens, there are 3-4 screens that were ripped. The management company decided to mow the lawn in the middle of our stay and created a grassy mess.

The property is on a quiet corner of the lake about 20 minutes away from the main drag. The home is updated and comfortable. Will likely return in the future.

Huge plus- we were able to check into our house 2 hours early! Everything was very clean! We used the hot tub, which was also very clean! The fire pit was awesome on the chilly nights! We loved our stay at bear trap- and would love to go back again soon!
