In the warmer months enjoy lake activities, hiking on the Appalachian Trail or various other trails, horseback riding at nearby stables, tennis at the town courts, berry picking, e-bike rentals, rafting, kayaking, wineries, and shopping at the many local farms and farmers markets. Our house is in Litchfield Hills just 30 minuets south of MA Berkshires. It overlooks the Housatonic River and across the river is the historic Appalachian Trail, where you can walk to Sharon or Kent. It is completely secluded on 13 acres which are in conservancy, but conveniently located off route 7 and only 9 miles from Kent & Sharon.
It's a 2 hour drive from NYC or accessible from NYC on Metro North's Harlem Valley Line. You can park at the Wassaic, Dover Plains or Harlem-Wingdale train stations and also rent-a-car at the Southeast station.
