Historic Warren/Kent Home

This wonderful home is available for a ski getaway or a spring or summer get together.

A historic 1755, home with tremendous upgrades is available for this coming Fall leaf & winter/ ski season. This 2200 sq. foot home features three full bedrooms and three full baths and a finished basement. This house can accommodate up to six people.

The home has two fireplaces, a gourmet eat-in kitchen, formal dining room and two car garage. It is located on a state maintained road for the snowy winter season. The home is twenty minutes to Mohawk Mountain ski and forty minutes to Massachusetts. swimming is also close by at Lake Waramug.

For the non skiers, historic Kent Ct. is five minutes away and it is a twenty minute drive to lovely Litchfield Ct.
Both of these charming New England towns offer shopping and dining.

Great Place

Super clean, very well-stocked house with a lot of character and plenty of room for family/friends. It was also an excellent location for us since we were coming from New Jersey and meeting family from the Boston area.

Incredible experience at the Appleyard

The Appleyard is a unique colonial retreat that is part museum, part vacation home, and part cozy homestead. My dog Hudson and I had an incredible five days there. We hosted a couple of my former students one afternoon and we had an unforgettable experience. The endless fields and woods that surround the property certainly enhance the experience.

Lovely stay

Comfortable and ample beds. Outdoor screened in porch is pretty much where we spent most of our time. Town of Kent just a few minutes away with good restaurants and a few nice stores. Definitely walkable. Due to rainy weather we weren’t able to visit the beach but understand it’s not too far away.

Weekend Getaway

Absolutely charming

What a wonderful rental! We came here to visit our son in Kent, which was an easy 10 minute drive up the road. Every room in the house is special, and this was a super comfortable and roomy house for our family. Will definitely look to rent this next time we come to Kent for a visit. Great communication with the owner as well, very very pleased.

We rented this home based on its exceptional 2025 reviews and expected a high-quality experience. Unfortunately, our stay was dramatically different.We booked the home for an important family wedding and were extremely disappointed. The listing advertised air conditioning, but there was no functioning A/C, making the house uncomfortable in 80F weather. The property was also not cleaned to an acceptable standard. The kitchen and three-season porch were particularly dirty, and there was a dead mouse odor on the second floor that became increasingly noticeable throughout our stay.There were also concerning safety issues. Unsecured alcohol and prescription medication were left in an unlocked drawer accessible to a small child. In addition, the home contained an excessive amount of the owner’s personal belongings, leaving very little drawer or storage space for guests.When we raised these concerns, the communication was unprofessional and focused more on dismissing the issues than resolving them. A courteous, solution-oriented response could have addressed the problems quickly and avoided unnecessary frustration.The host initially offered a partial reimbursement but later withdrew it inaccurately claiming we refused it. Vrbo ultimately provided a small amount of OneKeyCash as a goodwill gesture. We do not recommend this property.

In fairness to both the owner of this home as well as the host. This individual is a potential scammer. I will not go back and forth addressing this individuals rediculios claims they just keep coming. The owner suggested a refund as well as departing the property but the renter and her six guests preferred to write the below comments after increasing their demands for more money. Be ware of this renter.

Charming country home

We spent a long weekend at this home with our two boys and pet labradoodle. The house is well decorated and cared for - it was clean and had everything we could need. There was a beautiful fireplace and we brought firewood for the fire. The pictures do a good job representing the house. We would visit again!
