Located just 7 miles outside of Seward Alaska in the Bear Lake subdivision. Tiehacker Lodging is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Alaska. Guests can hike the nearby trails, watch the eagles soar, view fish and sometimes bears at the Bear Lake Weir, or visit any of the many local attractions.

An upstairs apartment with 1200 square feet of private space. We offer our guests clean, comfortable and spacious accommodations. The apartment features 3 bedrooms,1 bathroom, a full kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry. We will do our best to help you enjoy your visit to beautiful Seward Alaska!

This is an upstairs apartment. Owners reside in the apartment below the unit. In previous years the lower unit was the rental. All reviews dated prior to 2022 were related to the lower unit.

Please note that the stated room rate is based on double occupancy (2 people). There is a $25 per person per night fee for each additional guest after 2 and the property sleep up to 6 people.

Excellent location for all adventures in the Seward / Kenai Fjords area. Quiet location with all of the needed amenities. I would definitely recommend this location for anyone visiting the area.

Melissa has a beautiful home that we thoroughly enjoyed. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful, and felt very safe. The view of the snow-capped mountains from the living room window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. The beds are authentic wood made and so comfortable.We truly loved our stay and look forward to returning in the future.

Our host was wonderfully helpful. The apartment was in pristine condition -both in upkeep and cleanliness. Our days were LONG as we were trying to take in as much of Alaska as possible during our family's short stay. We heard nothing from our hosts family. We only hope we were quiet enough that we didn't disturb their sleep, as our space was over their living space. We tried to leave everything in great shape, except for washing the linens and towels. Hope that wasn't required. If we ever get to come back to Alaska, specifically to Seward, we would hope this place was available for our dates --might even arrange our schedule around availability!!!Thank you ever so much!

Very functional stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Seward. The house was very large for us, 2 couples, with a nice size kitchen and dining room and a comfortable couch in the family room. The beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to other visitors!

Wonderful stay for 4 adults!

Beautiful place inside and out. We loved the close walk to the salmon weir, and a short drive to Seward. The apartment was well more than well equipped for everything we needed. Everything was smooth, and the view of the mountain is just gorgeous.

Just what we needed

Great place to stay for us five adults! A short drive from Seward in the woods near a creek. Plenty of space to spread out, easy access and a fully furnished kitchen. Everything was tidy and exactly as described. The hosts were very helpful as well and we definitely recommend Tiehacker Lodging,

Perfect location. Everything you need!

This house was in the perfect location and was exceptionally clean with everything a family could need for a stay in the Seward area. The hosts live on property but were very hospitable and gave us privacy. There was plenty of parking, convenient to Seward, groceries, and amenities, and was easy to find. The beds were comfortable and encased in sealed mattress protectors. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a washer and dryer! We would definitely stay there again!

We spend as much of our free time as possible enjoying the great outdoors of Alaska fishing, camping, hiking, ATV riding and snowmobile riding. We offer our guests complete privacy. However, we are happy to recommend activities and places to visit and share stories if we happen to meet.
