The "ART HOUSE" is a designers & entertainers dream for the upscale traveler seeking an experience! Artfully crafted, designed and built by the owner, Cavan McMahon, with love, care and attention to detail.

The private fenced L-shaped compound consist of an open-concept main area, a "garage door" room that opens up to an expansive deck with umbrellas, the perfect pool setting, an outdoor bbq grill, plush gardens and just a short walk to Main Street, but you probably won't want to leave!

Open concept main area with a fully stocked gourmet Kitchen with Viking Appliances, an expansive Island, gas burning Fireplace, and separate Media Room.

Master Suite has a handmade King Metal Bed with Bamboo Sheets & Designer Linens, an en-suite Soaking Tub, River-rock Shower, 2 handmade Concrete 'Plow Disk' Sinks, and a separate Vanity, bath products provided.

The 2 additional rooms both have handmade King Beds with Bamboo Sheets & Designer Linens, handmade Concrete 'Plow Disk' Sinks/Vanities in each room for easy "getting ready" in a group!

Shared Bath has Walk-in River-rock Shower, bath products provided.

Beautiful House!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Art House and it won’t be our last. My 4 year old granddaughter actually said to me that we need to come to this house every summer for vacation. The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Highly recommend!

4th of July 2024

Clean, comfortable, convenient, and fun!!! Our family had a great time visiting Fredricksburg for the 4th of July holiday this year. Our host Donna was very helpful and always quick to respond. The beautiful Art House was our home base and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Perfect Paradise for Girls Getaway

This was one of the best times that we've had as a group of friends from SC who have been taking trips together for 20 years- and the Art House had everything to do with that!! So cool and unique as well as very comfortable! Everything you could need was provided and Donna even left us a very nice welcome gift of wine and a cheese tray upon our arrival! She was great with communication and also understanding and flexible when we had to change our stay dates. We absolutely loved the pool and outdoor gathering area, where we spent a whole afternoon after shopping on Main Street, just a 10 minute walk from the house. The well equipped kitchen and TV area provided the perfect gathering spots for conversation, food and fun. We all agreed upon leaving that this was the best house we've rented in all our travels and we enjoyed Fredericksburg so much we may just make it a regular getaway! Thanks, Donna!!

Cool House in Neat Town.

Trip to wine-country

The place was exceptionally clean, had everything we needed and then some. It is close enough to Main Street where you can walk to it if you so desire. It is equipped and decorated in a way that makes you feel at home while you’re away. Everyone enjoyed their stay and is already talking about doing it again.

Thanksgiving in Freddy

Spent Thanksgiving in Freddy for the second year in a row. Hoping to make this a tradition since our adult children live within a couple of hours from there. The Art House did not disappoint! The house is modern yet cozy. The fireplace was the gathering point in the evenings when it was too cool to be outside. The kitchen was well stocked, the bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious with all of the amenities. Will definitely be back!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay in Fredericksburg at the Art House! The property was simply beautiful, and the kitchen with all its amenities made cooking a joy. Every room was thoughtfully equipped with everything one could possibly want, and the Sonos speakers added a great touch to the ambiance. The movie room and pool were cozy and incredibly fun, providing fantastic entertainment throughout our stay. Moreover, the location was perfect, just a stone's throw away from Main Street shopping, which made exploring the town a breeze. I highly recommend this place for an unforgettable and enjoyable retreat in Fredericksburg.

Originally from west Texas, graduates of Texas Tech & UT-Austin, after a sabbatical in the eastern Caribbean on our sailboat, Sea Gypsy, we decided to settle in Fredericksburg. The traditional values intermingled with the progressive nature of the town, offered the perfect setting for our family of 4. We have traveled extensively, from youth hostiles to the 5-star parisian hotels…and feel confident that you will enjoy our home!
