Basic apartment.
We had an unfortunate start to our stay. We had no contact from the owner regarding pick up of keys and on arrival at the address on the website were told by a neighbour that the owner was away on holiday in Greece! Luckily after some frantic phoning around somebody did turn up with a key but it was definitely not the warm welcome we'd read about in other reviews.
The apartment was clean and had all that was required. We were only left 2 towels for 8 days which was a little less than optimal!
The apartment is dark and a little cool with nowhere to sit out in the sun. The small outside area is always in shade.
On the Saturday night there was a really loud disco next door that went on till 3am. The next morning our outdoor area was littered with cigarette butts and broken glass- cleared up later that afternoon.
The village is quaint with a couple of nice restaurants in walking distance. There are a lot of lovely places to drive to within an hour and a halfs drive.

Séjour agréable au coeur d'un bourg madiéval...
Accueil convivial et sympathique des propriétaires. L'appartement est confortable, très agréable quand la chaleur accable les après-midis d'été. Situé au coeur de Monticiano, il est à deux pas du centre, très pratique avec sa supérette, son wine bar, son restaurant,son pub, boulangerie, coiffeur, pharmacie et autre banque...A 30 minutes à peine de Sienne, Monticiano est un village médiéval entouré de forêts, proche de l'abbaye de San Galgano. Sa piscine municipale est un lieu de rafraîchissement bien agréable en été.

consigliatissimo!
Ho soggiornato presso questo appartamento con il mio compagno dal 29 dicembre al 2 gennaio. Ci siamo trovati benissimo, paese molto tranquillo e silenzioso, appartamento molto carino e ben attrezzato, proprietario gentilissimo e disponibilissimo. Monticiano è stato per noi perfetto come punto d'appoggio per visitare Siena, San Galgano, Chiusdino e il mulino, Monteriggioni, Colle Val d'Elsa, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia, Montalcino e le terme naturali lì vicino. Lo consigliamo a tutti quelli che desiderano visitare questi paesi splendidi.

Effettivamente Monticiano si trova in una posizione strategica della Provincia di Siena.
Coloro che amano le città d'arte hanno la possibilità di raggiungere Siena in 30 minuti, San Gimignano in 50 minuti, Volterra, Montalcino e Pienza in meno di un'ora. Anche Firenze
è raggiungibile in un'ora.
Coloro che invece amano la natura hanno la possibilità di visitare i luoghi intorno a Monticiano dove si trovano le Terme di Petriolo, l'Abbazzia di San Galgano e la Chiesa di Montesiepi dove si trova la Spada nella Roccia

"L''accueil de madame B. ...
"L''accueil de madame B. et de son conjoint était parfaite. La possibilité de stationner dans le jardin fût très apprécié. On savait que l''appartement était sombre tel que mentionné dans les autres commentaires mais la terrasse aide. Toutefois il faut savoir que que c''est très humide, la possibilité de mettre un peu de chauffage aurait aidé. En ce qui concerne l''équipement une plus grosse cafétière et l''absence de coupe à vin ( particulièrement dans cette région ) ont manqué. À prévoir avant votre arrivée, aliments de base car marché fermé le dimanche.
Beau petit village, pizzaria agréable, le marché des vins et le petit café pour ses brioches au matin ..."

"nous avons été très bien accueillis. l''appartement est très confortable et très bien situé à deux pas du centre du village de Monticiano (où l''on peut trouver tous les commerces : superette, pharmacie, bar à vins...) nous vous conseillons d''aller diner à l''osteria del Borgo (à 300m de l''appartement), l''accueil y est très chaleureux et la cuisine excellente (surtout les tagliatelles aux cèpes!!). séjour à renouveler!!!"

"Appartement tout à fait ...
"Appartement tout à fait charmant dans un petit village toscan typique (qui a pourtant toutes les commodités à portée: supérette, boulangerie, énothèque qui sert des vins délicieux!) . Dépaysement et tranquillité.
Les propriétaires sont aimables et toujours disponibles. L'appartement est propre et bien équipé.
