The Cooper Cottage was built in 1906, has been in the Cooper family since 1944 and features a stone fireplace built by Richard Cooper and his father, Herbert. It also has an enclosed porch that looks out over the water; with Chaumont Bay on one side and Guffins Bay on the other, the view is just spectacular! Newly remodeled, this wheelchair accessible, two bedroom cottage sits just feet from Lake Ontario. With all the amenities of home, all you need to do is sit back and relax and enjoy the view.

We had a lovely time at the cottage! The location was perfect and the breeze with lapping water outside the windows made ourn vacation truly relaxing. Our host was great an dvedy communicative. Hope to visit again in the future
We enjoyed relaxing at the cottage in this quiet bay community. The cabin had all we needed to cook, play games, and even watch some old VHS movies. Carolyn leaves detailed instructions, though somehow I missed ‘bring your own water for cooking and drinking’ so would give that heads up to get a good quantity for your stay so you’re not running back and forth to the store and can just relax at the lake.

Very nice summer cottage rental with outstanding view
Cooper's Cottage is a very nice, affordable summer cottage rental. The cottage is located at the tip of Pt Salubrious and has an outstanding view of Cherry Island and the surrounding bays. The area is very quiet at night and has an enjoyable view of the sunrise and sunset.
It was very relaxing. The views were amazing. The lake house was perfect has everything you need for comfort. I will rent again

Great cottage! My husband and dog and I had a wonderful time.
The cottage is extremely clean and well-equipped. The front porch looking out over the lake is addictive. Just bring food and settle down for a great experience. We have already booked for a couple of weeks next summer.
Everything was as described and more! Had a wonderful time and the views were amazing. We would definitly return for another visit. The host, Carolyn was great and her recommendation to eat at The Blue Heron restaurant was spot on. Thanks for everything Carolyn.
I enjoyed my days at the lake so much. It was relaxing and quiet. I already miss the sound of the waves. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Awesome week!
We had such a great time ! The neighborhood was so nice and the bay front property was breathtaking! Very clean ! Carolyn was so nice and responsive!

Nice place. Very clean. Has everything you need. Owner was easily accessible. It's right on the water. Not far from 1000 Islands area. Beautiful views from property and inside cabin.
The only negative I would say is the water has an odor to it. Water is pumped into the cabin from the lake. Owner was upfront about bringing bottled water, which I did. So it wasn't an issue for me but might be for others.
There is a gas fire pit, but no campfires are allowed. This is in the rental agreement so it's not a surprise. Again, owner was upfront about it.
There is no Internet/wifi available. Cell service is sketchy. I know it's a vacation spot or "getaway" to relax but some of us do use it to read books on a tablet, or access sites to see where good places to eat are or things to do while on vacation.
Overall, not a bad place for the money.
Great location, Great Yard - couple small annoyances
Loved the property, lots of room outside, great view, house was clean. Can see the sunset from the dock. Bring water shoes if you plan to swim. Neighborhood is quiet.
They have a working VCR with tapes which was fun when it rained.
Slightly annoyed that the owner is blaming us for ants when some of our food that was still in the store packaging was ruined the first night by ants. There was no mess or food out otherwise. And there were ant traps present when we got there.
There is a long list of chores you are required to do when you check out. She doesn't charge the cleaning fee ahead of time so that you clean the place for her, which is what it is, but be prepared to clean the place from top to bottom to avoid the fee. We thought we did a good job, but must've missed some things.
And the "leather" recliner is shedding and little flakes of it stick to everything. Still fidning them on my things now that we are back home.
Great place to stay for peace and quiet. Host Carolyn went out of her way to accommodate us. Cottage had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend if you want to sit back and rejuvenate 💕
Needed a break from day to day responsibilities and Carolyn's cottage was the perfect getaway. Just to sit outside and feel the breeze from the bay was so relaxing and peaceful. We rented a kayak from Bob's for a day and that was fun for the family. The general store was close by and pretty much had anything we needed. Carolyn was a pleasant host, and very responsive. We were very pleased to be able to take our dog, but the rocks in the water were a little rough on his paws. My only complaint is that there weren't enough days available to lengthen our stay. Thank you, Carolyn... we had a great time!
We found this lake house to be comfortable, clean and certainly well appointed. The view from the rear enclosed porch and from the master bedroom was perfection and the lake could not be more accessible (or closer!) The location was perfection for our needs and the neighborhood lovely. Everyone was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again if in the region. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars instead of 4 is that the water in the tap is not potable (an issue throughout the area and not unique to this rental.) We quickly adjusted to the fact, but some might find it an issue they do not want to deal with.
Property was as described but not as handicapped accessible as desired. The ground at the doorway was uneven, making wheelchair travel difficult and thresholds into the cottage and into the sunroom were a challenge. Otherwise, we enjoyed the cottage, the view and the availability of everything needed to enjoy our stay.
