About this property
Charming Victorian Home
Beautiful Victorian Terraced House in Cobh.
Recently renovated with style, this comfortable house can host up to 10 guests in the 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with toilets.
Imagine yourself relaxing in the sofa with a nice glass of wine listening to traditional Irish music, after a day of walking and discovering of this beautiful area of Ireland.
Situated in the middle of the hill, the house features:
On the Ground floor, past the original hallway with traditional features, a comfortable living room with Sofa and chairs that opens into a separate dining room with large dining table. The separate kitchen includes all facilities (including washing-machine) and you can also use it as your breakfast room as it has another kitchen table!
On the First Floor, you will find there are 2 bathrooms: one consisting of a walk-in shower room, toilet and washbasin, and on the same floor a further large bathroom consisting of a stand-alone bath, separate walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin with the best view of the Harbour! Pamper yourself in the large bath watching the liners coming in the harbour after a day of discovery! In the bay-window room, there are 2 beds (1 king size + 1 single) and another cosy bedroom with a traditional double bed.
On the Top of the House, there is are two great bedrooms. Bedroom three consists of a King size bed and a single bed where you will recharge your energy for the next day! And Bedroom four consists of a Double Bed, with a view to the Cathedral.
By staying in this house, you will not only feel at home, but you will also be at the heart of a great community that offers: traditional pubs, nice restaurants, the unique Colemans’ Cathedral, the Titanic Museum, Cobh Heritage Centre, etc. all within a short walking distance.
If you are a golf enthusiast, there are several golf clubs nearby (including Cobh Golf Club and Fota Golf Club) – ask us for more information as we can help with green fees.
In the area, you can drive to Ballycotton and its magnificent cliff walks; visit the Stephen Pearce Pottery, the Jameson Experience, Blarney Castle, etc.
Car
If you are coming with a car, you can park for free in front of the house on the street.
Trains and Ferries
The train station is a very short walk downhill, which is accessed from the local heritage centre (25 minutes train journey to Cork City, with a regular train service).
The Ferry is a further 2 miles drive from the house in the same direction, very well sign-posted.
Please note when renting this property on a monthly basis or longer, electricity and heating (gas or oil) bills must be charged separately and paid for in advance.

About the host
Hosted by Patrick

We are an Irish-French-Dutch family who loves spending time in Ireland. It is such a relaxing and refreshing atmosphere compared to our buzzing life in busy cities.
What we most particularly love is enjoying a glass of wine with a great meal in the house, after a day of golf and walking and running!
We hope you will enjoy the house as much as we do!

Why they chose this property
I love being in Cobh as it is a central point for many relaxing activities that you will enjoy during your stay, whether it is for a week-end, a week or more, here are some ideas on what you can do (and that we enjoy doing also):
- Golf – Cobh Golf Club is located 3km from the house, which also features one of the most picturesque Par 3 in the country, and island green with the harbour in the distance. I can arrange Green Fees "at the drop of a hat" for Cobh Golf Club. If you want to do a Golf Tour, you also have very nearby the Fota Golf Club, and Cork Golf Club. The Old Head of Kinsale is easily accessible also.
- Walking and Running: you have various routes that you can walk or run on the island! From sea-side walks to countryside walks, via wood walks, there are plenty of choices!
- Fishing – depending on the time of the year, you will be able to fish different ways!
- Spa – why not pampering you in the Fota Spa?
- Restaurants & Pubs – you cannot stay in Ireland without going into a traditional Irish Pub, and in Cobh you will be spoiled with choices! The best pint of Guinness for us is at the Roaring Donkey on top of the hill!
- Discovering – the Titanic and the Lusitania have marked the town, and to discover the history, you can visit the Museum, walk the trail and rest in the Memorial Garden.
- Boat trip – take a boat tour to Spike Island. The multi-cultural island has hosted a monastery, a fortress and a prison within its 104 acres, all of which have left their mark.
- And of course, plenty of activities for children: the Fota Zoo, Cuskinny court adventure park, swimming pool, playgrounds across the town, they will enjoy their time in Cobh also!

What makes this property unique
One of the reasons why I love this house is that it carries a lot of history. My husband is born on this hill and has a lot of nice memories from these houses. Now that we have our own family, I love the relaxing atmosphere we have created in the house. We enjoy having a glass of wine with friends and a good dinner in the house, after a day with Golf, walk and running!
The other reason I love the house is that it is big and spacious! You can have a lot of people in the house, and still have some privacy, due to the 2 bathrooms, the living space, the large kitchen space, etc. It is a well organised house.
But mostly, I enjoy coming to Ireland as it is a relaxing, wild atmosphere, away from our busy lives in busy cities...
Our objective is for you to enjoy as much the house as the area! And we will be very happy to help organizing your stay and also helping you during your stay!
