On a cul-de-sac in a good, safe, flat neighborhood in the geographic center of The City
Guests have said: "great value"; "cozy"; "We appreciated Howard's map and list of suggested places to eat"; "comfy beds and very quiet which made for great sleeping."

Private entrance.
The bedroom has a queen bed. The (larger) sitting room has a single bed, which looks sort of like a sofa, as well as a real sofa. Both rooms look out at the garden. Powder-room-size bathroom with walk-in shower. WiFi. Cable TV with Netflix et al. Wood floors.
Excellent bus connections: Downtown/Beach; Marina/MIssion. Easy walk to Golden Gate Park, Laurel Village, Clement St., and to two foodie destinations: Arsicault (best croissants in the country); Arguello Market (best sandwich—turkey—in The City). Also nearby: a classic diner, many coffee shops and restaurants, post office, pharmacy, banks, FedEx, and gas station.
Please note: no stove—alcove has microwave and mini-fridge and electric kettle, Braun coffee maker, and toaster, and glasses, dishes, and utensils. BBQ in backyard.

Solid Place in a Very Convenient Location

Had a great stay at Howard’s property. It is the lower level of a house, very nice having a garage if renting a vehicle. Very safe area and close access to Golden Gate Park and Muni buses. Howard was accommodating and met upon arrival. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. If looking for a place to stay in the Richmond district or near Golden Gate Park, this is a great option!

Charming spot

We loved our stay in Howard’s apartment. The neighborhood is perfect for exploring in all directions—Richmond with all its great restaurants, Golden Gate Park and the de Young museum, the Presidio etc. Nearby Geary street gives you a. Straight shot downtown on the bus. Howard was very helpful and communicative and we particularly appreciated his letting us leave our luggage for a late pick up on our last day. It was a delightful stay.

Nice place to stay while visiting SF for a conference

Nice place, quiet, clean and just out of the way of downtown but close enough to bus stops sow we could take the bus to the Moscone. No need to drive!! We really enjoyed staying here! Thank you Howard:)

Howard is a great host. Left us a list of nearby restaurants and services. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Very walkable. I probably would not say there was a kitchen in the unit. It was more like a kitchenette. But overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Nice garden apartment in great location

Spacious apartment near public transportation and fabulous restaurants. A short walk to a public pool and the Koret pool at USF, the best pool I've ever experienced (though a little expensive for a single day use).

Quiet and comfortable

Lovely retreat in the city, but away from the hustle and bustle. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and there were plenty of outlets to plug in all of our tech stuff. Would happily stay at Howard's place again on our next visit to San Francisco.

Absolutely perfect

Everything about this spot was perfect. We were in SF for a conference and found a refuge in Howard's listing. Very comfortable, extremely clean, and quiet. Also, Howard is an absolute gem of a person. We would stay here again in a heart beat!

Centrally located, very safe and secure neighborhood. Bed was comfortable and it was very peaceful and quiet. Having a garage in SF was really great! The place was cute and had all the important amenities.

Great spot in Inner Richmond

Great home and location for an extended stay in the Bay Area. Walking distance (or very short ride) to everything in SF. Howard was great with easy check in, helping with anything needed and the emergency umbrella!

Clean and Quirky

Cute and quirky decorations. The longer I stayed, the more I liked it there. Clean and everything I needed. I enjoyed the back garden as well. You will need to bring your own shampoo and soap and coffee.

Perfect Downtown Access

Stayed her a full week, comfortable spot for two grandparents and college age granddaughter! Howard is a welcoming host, providing for our needs and very accessible. Granddaughter did daily runs in Golden Gate Park and brought back amazing pastries. We tried and senjoyed several restaurant recommenations, both eating out and bringing in food. Saw all the key sites during the week, including a day in Napa Valley.

This is a small, well maintained, cozy place in a very pretty, quiet neighborhood, with convenient access to the whole city. Howard is helpful and considerate. Kitchen lacks a stove, but we did fine for breakfasts with coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and fridge. Even boiled eggs with the kettle! And there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Parking our rented car in the garage was a treat. Overall, and excellent stay. NB: this is SF: chilly at night. We used his good space heaters (and towel warmer) every night.

Another nice stay at Quiet Garden Apt

We have been there numerous times and we always appreciate the clean, quiet and comfortable setting. It is a modest place with a few stairs and may not be for everyone but it always fits our travel needs and feels like a safe place. The pictures are accurate of the layout and what is available within the apt. This was our first time with a car (compact would be best) and Howard let us use his garage. We usually use the public transportation as that is close by and easy. We used the microwave for a few meals but mostly walked to near by restaurants and bakeries, visited the weekend Farmers Market and walked about 15 minutes to the the Golden Gate Park. We hope to return for future trips. Retired Seattle Couple

Disappointing

First this was listed as being in Sausalito which it is not. It’s in San Francisco. That wasn’t the hosts fault but be careful when you’re booking through VRBO. Nice neighborhood but place is in a basement. Dark with low ceilings. Very inadequate kitchen. Really not a kitchen at all just microwave and coffee maker. It was clean but not at all what we were expecting for the money. With all the extra fees tagged on we could have stayed at a very nice hotel

Great location for a visit for my mom’s 82nd birthday trip. We were able to walk many places and it was easy to get a Wayco or Uber/Lyft when needed. Howard was a great host. He gave us an extensive list of local recommendations. As stated in the listing, there is no cooking facilities. We did not need them so the coffeemaker, mini fridge and microwave were just fine for us. The garage access would be a huge benefit if you have a car which we did not. I would not recommend this property for more than 2 adults if you are not comfortable in close quarters and sharing beds. It was perfectly fine for a mom and two daughters but maybe not for others that aren’t as close It worked perfect for us.

Kitchen setup was perfect for snacks and water bottle storage. We mostly ate out or went to the local coffee house for our morning coffee. Parking was excellent, especially for smaller cars. House was extremely clean. We have nothing negative to say.
