The hosts are nice but the property is 45 minutes from the centre of Florence on a good day at peak hours. One evening it took me 2 hours to return. Before committing to the property I asked the host how long it would take to use public transportation from the property to the city centre and she told me 15 minutes. To offer some context, when I took a taxi it took 35 minutes without traffic coming from a part of Florence closer to the property.Having said this, Settignano is beautiful and tucked away in the hills, making the stay redeemable despite its inconvenient location.

We are sorry you experienced difficulties with the transport. I did mention that at the moment Florence's council is building the new Tramvia; buses are diverted, routes are more complicated, and traffic is heavier. We are glad, though, you enjoyed Settignano. All the best Maria Grazia

Beautiful place

We had a wonderful couple days staying here in Florence! The location was great, a little outside of the city center but bus access was easy. The place was very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Lovely country getaway

A clean and comfy place to stay in a quiet and picturesque village. Host was lovely and we managed to communicate adequately although neither had a good grasp of the others language.

A lovely place to stay

This was all we’d hoped for. A charming village, a clean and cozy little house, very gracious host. We ate at two of the local restaurants and they were some of the best meals on our trip. Maria was so friendly and made sure everything was ready for our stay - even milk in the frig. We would love to stay here on our next Visit to Tuscany- it’s a great jumping off place for exploring.

Nice little cottage that

House was great! Clean and comfortable, in a quite town. Only complaint was the “grocery store” in town really isn’t a grocery store so you have to go into another town a few miles away. The shower was amazing, and the house attendant did our laundry for us since the washer is next door and renters don’t have access to that room.

Calm and Cozy place

That was a perfect place to fit our purpose. The place is beautiful scenery and gives us a lot of coziness and tranquility. The host was so generous and kind and there was no problem at all even though we can’t speak Italian and she can’t speak English. I’ll definitely visit again when we have a chance to go to Italy.

Fun stay

The lay out could be difficult if you have a problem with steep stairs. No microwave. Mostly tiled floors, need rugs too to cover the cold floors. All in all, the place was fine, especially for the rate. The place is a couple minutes walking from a great restaurant. I think maybe the only one in town, so thankfully it's really good.

I really loved the area. The house was an amazing Old house. it was a privilege to stay in it. But some things should be updated if people are paying to stay there. There was no oven and no microwave. The bathroom had no horizontal surfaces and there was no shelf in the shower so no place to put your soaps. The very steep stairs had a banister made out of rope. I think that is dangerous and should be replaced. In general, the amenities were very spare. I found the host to be a very nice person but she wasn’t there while we were in the house and she left the responsibility for letting us in to a friend of hers. Communication was not good. That process was difficult. When we arrived at the house, there was no one to let us in. We were able to get a hold of the friend and she showed up after about 10 minutes.. The keys sometimes didn’t work and one time we wanted to go out and we couldn’t lock the door. I texted the host to let her know, but I didn’t receive her response to that. Also, the messages she sent were in Italian. I don’t know if that was Vrbo’s problem or hers. Eventually, we did straighten that out.

Dear Lindy I'm sorry that your stay didn't match your expectations. Our page specifies that there is no oven or microwave. The bathroom is equipped with multiple supports and the shower has a soap dish. The stairs, well marked in the advert, have a cord as they use in Tuscan houses. Nous avons apprécié de rentrer le soir à la maison de Settignano, après les journées passées à Florence, journées riches en visites de basiliques, palais et jardins, et, ainsi, de vivre, comme des voisins de Mme et M. Peroni! L'appartement est confortable. Il a un charme rustique qui nous a mis à l'aise : beaux meubles, jolie vaisselle, cour intérieure fleurie. Grazie!

Hébergement pratique dans une région magnifique

L'appartement est bien situé, dans un village sur les hauteurs de Florence : on y laisse sa voiture et on peut prendre le bus (télécharger l'appli AT) jusqu'au centre-ville. Au village même, nous avons découvert un restaurant super sympa, la Capponcina, dans lequel nous avons dîné à plusieurs reprises. La région regorge aussi de villes à visiter : nous avons fait un saut à Sienne (magnifique), Pise et même à la plage de Viareggio quand nous voulions nous rafraîchir. La propriétaire nous a laissé des attentions bien appréciées : une prise anti-moustiques (indispensable en août !) et un ventilateur dont nous avons fait bon usage. Bonne communication, nous nous sommes tout de suite sentis dans une relation de confiance. Un super séjour !

Tutto stupendo

Ho soggiornato qualche giorno in questo appartamento, che ho trovato con un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Molto pulito, silenzioso e ben attrezzato. Comodo per raggiungere il centro di Firenze con l'autobus. Piacevolissima ed originale la DOCCIA SENSORIALE e la gentilezza e la disponibilità dei proprietari Maria Grazia e Vinicio, da raccomandare caldamente. Settignano è un paese molto carino, vicinissimo a Firenze, ma immerso nel verde, con la possibilità di fare belle passeggiate nei boschi che lo circondano. Da visitare la bellissima villa Gamberaia con i suoi stupendi giardini all'italiana, villa Gabriele D'Annunzio e la villa di Eleonora Duse .... Sicuramente da consigliare
