Top Floor Oceanfront Studio #311 W/LANAI and A/C


COOL A/C IS AVAILABLE when ocean breezes aren't enough.
Unit # 311 - We have one of the few units in the building with an ACTUAL outdoor patio to enjoy the beautiful ocean view, which is direct ocean front, with famous Magic Sands Beach right next door! And with our COOL A/C, you couldn't ask for
a better place to stay! Magics Beach Grill, the onsite restaurant, is open right downstairs.
Our unit includes a 55" big screen TV with Blu Ray player, Netflix and free WIFI access, stereo system, along with extra bedding and linens. There is a large collection of DVD's and books to enjoy as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with small appliances including microwave, blender, coffeemaker, rice maker and coffee grinder along with glasses, pots, pans, silverware, and various seasonings and spices. The kitchen and bath have granite counters. The bathroom shower has a raised shower head for our taller guests.
We've also added plenty of extra amenities like extra large beach towels, snorkel gear, beach chairs, coolers, picnic blankets, boogie boards and beach umbrellas for your afternoons at the local beaches. We've provided fishing poles and binoculars for whale and fish watching from the lanai. There are two BBQ's on site by the oceanfront pool and a coin-op laundry room downstairs. Free assigned parking spot for one car is also included.
Please note that there is no elevator in the building and we are located on the top floor (third floor), but it's worth the steps for the fantastic views!
We are conveniently located within 2-3 miles of downtown Kailua-Kona and all it's inviting shops and restaurants.

Perfect location + well appointed condo

We loved our stay at Magic Sands. The location was perfect for our daily trips exploring the island. We loved the view from the lanai while sipping our morning coffee as well as our nightly mai tai and listening to the crashing waves. I highly recommend this property.

Amazing view!

Excellent place to stay with an amazing lanai for gorgeous sunsets every evening! Location perfect for exploring the island, beach next door & great restaurant below. Stocked with basics for cooking, tons of beach gear & plenty of towels. Pool area is really nice. We loved everything about the place! Would definitely stay here again!

Beach Waves

Booked this room because it was next door to one of the few sandy beaches on the big island and wasn’t disappointed. Very cozy and amenities galore. The unit had everything we could have needed and more.

Wonderful, right on the ocean's edge.

This is my second time renting this condo. Small but has everything you need for great beach-time. Restaurant in the complex is really fun and convenient.

Perfect location and AMAZING oceanfront view!

Best kept secret on Kona coast is no more! Condo had everything we needed for our stay! Great to have the beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers to use. We really appreciated the AC on a few very humid days we had. Nice location on island for traveling north, south or east to Hilo! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

A magical stay

We were so happy during our time here. The lanai was the star of the show - we could watch fish, snorkelers, and the beautiful sunset. One morning we even saw dolphins! The property had everything we needed to get our beach mode on. We loved the convenient location and being able to run next door for a snack when we didn’t feel like cooking.

Amazing ocean balcony view

The condo was perfect for 2 adults. We spent every morning and evening on that amazing balcony. So many little extras, like the high quality beach chairs and beach towels, the binoculars for whale-spotting, the snorkel gear you could borrow, I could go on and on.

Pros and Cons - but worth it!

Overall the room is a bit dated, but it has what you would need (and rooms are undergoing renovation). There’s negatives and positives.Positives: GREAT location, right next to magic sands beach and magic sands grill. Just a 5 minute drive to downtown Kona. The amenities such as boogie boards and lounge chairs are much appreciated. It was fantastic being able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves every night, even with the lanai closed. Negatives: The bathroom is very small to where the shower door hits the side of the toilet when opened. The kitchen appliances are old and the toaster smelled like burning rubber and did not work well. There’s a lot of stuff left over in the cabinets that are expired, such as spices and cooking spray. The amount of TV remotes is crazy (at least 5 or 6) and the directions on how to work it are not clear.

Lovely condo with a spectacular view of the ocean. Everything was perfect!

Me, my husband and two children, age 6 and 11, travelled from Sweden and stayed four nights in 311 and it was perfect! The beds were comfortable, the condo was clean and nicely decorated, the pool was nice, the kitchen well-equipped. We also appreciated the beach gear (beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards) that was provided. But best of all was the view! We loved to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. If we'd ever afford to come to Hawaii again we'll definitely stay here again!

Awesome home

We stayed at Kona Magic Sands during the Ironman and it was ideal. It's a beautiful home, well decorated with updated furnishings and just about anything else you could need for a beach vacation--chairs, towels, coolers, etc... They even thought about the little things like binoculars and lots of DVDs. The kitchen was stocked with spices and pretty much any pot/pan/utensil you could need. The view is pristine and having the beach next door is an added bonus. It's hard to beat eating breakfast on the lanai with dolphins frolicking right offshore.

Awesome stay with everything nearby

We enjoyed our stay here. The condo was the perfect size for a couple. Convenient to everything you may need. The sunsets either from the lanai or from the parks on either side of the complex are fantastic. Most days were just morning snorkels at 4 Mile or behind the condo and boogie boarding at Magic Sands - both within walking distance. If we want to go somewhere, it was easy to get in and out of the complex even during the middle of the day. If you didn't want to go out, we found it easy to make a meal in the condo or break out the grill by the pool - everything we needed to cook was there. Don't want to cook? Call Magic's Grill, wait 15 minutes, walk downstairs and pick up some good local dishes. We eat carry out on the lanai most nights as we watched the sunset - the place rocks.

A TREAT FOR THE SOUL

This place is spectacular! If you love waves with thunder, look no further. The lanai is the game changer. We sat there everyday for hours. Whales, turtles, fish everywhere. This place will not disappoint. The room is so cute, with lots of amenities. The bed is a Queen and comfortable. Cabinets were well stocked. The manager was always around cleaning and caring for the property. She does a great job! The pool area was never crowded and always clean. You have Magic Sands Beach on one side and a beautiful park on the other. Seriously, you never have to leave. This aloha experience should sustain me for a long while. Thank you to our hosts for the experience. Hope to rent again soon.

Beautiful view and wonderfully equipped.

We loved staying in this condo at the Kona Magic Sands! It is along Ali'i Drive, where there are many condos and hotels, but it can boast a lovely white sand beach on one side and a small park on the other. These things are not only lovely to enjoy, they make it feel like you are secluded somewhere, rather than surrounded by other housing. The condo was incredibly well-stocked, you likely don't need to bring anything! There were numerous towels, beach towels, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs, binoculars for birds (or the volcanoes!), books (including guide books!), movies, Netflix-capable TV (great for the evenings), and more. While we loved having the AC-unit, we also loved opening the doors to the lanai and the front door (with screen doors on both sides) to feel the cross-breeze and listen to the sounds of the ocean. We did a lot of adventuring around the island and this condo was a great home base for us. We thought it was a great place to finish out our honeymoon and would recommend it to almost anyone for their stay on the Big Island! Mahalo!

A little piece of paradise

My daughter and I stayed in Jan's condo at Kona Magic Sands for 11 nights and recommend it highly; the only down side is that eventually you have to leave. The view from the lanai is incredible, and this condo is one of only three units with a balcony, so that's a huge plus. I do have to say that someone who is extremely sensitive to heat might suffer a bit without AC, but the condo is set up with numerous fans; between those and the breeze coming in off the ocean we were fine - and that drawback isn't enough for me not to withhold a 5-star rating. Everything you need for a day at the beach is provided for you: towels, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, beach umbrella, etc. The kitchen is also very well stocked. The property is right next to Magic Sands beach (which did have sand while we were there), which is a great place to spend time if you don't feel like venturing out. The swimming pool is also pleasant and clean and he location is excellent - far enough from the hustle and bustle of town for peace and quiet but close enough to get to the shops and restaurants easily; we walked there a couple of times (it's about 3 miles). If you're looking for a comfortable, well-equipped. and reasonably-priced place with an unsurpassed view and an owner who is a pleasure to work with, look no further.

Beautiful ocean view little condo

Amazing views from this unit always something to watch, nice to have the small balcony. There was a big swell so Magic Sands Beach was pretty rough, but so much fun watching the bodyboarders and surfers. Not a safe beach when there is a swell! Building is a little dated but clean. The unit had everything you would need, we didn’t cook dinner there but lots of people staying in other units did used the barbecues downstairs. The screen doors were hard to use, the salt water is so hard on things. Bed was very comfortable. Shower had a large step up so if you have any mobility issues this could be a problem ( the nurse in me notice these things😆). Lots of towels, chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The cooler was a little big for two people so we picked up a small one at Walmart. Pool has been redone not a lot of lounge chairs but was never crowded. Bring coins if you want to use the washer and dyers downstairs. We enjoyed the restaurant downstairs ate there twice. Many of our favorite restaurants are closed which made us sad. We were glad the Coffee Shack and Quinn’s were still open. Nice place for two people.

A Landlubber’s Perspective

What a spectacular place! This unit is on the top floor (level 3), centre of the building, literally over the ocean. It is one of only three units (aside from corner units), that has a walk out balcony, something we always appreciate. The balcony has a high table with 4 stools plus one lounging chair. We spent a lot of time here, watching for whales (saw one and a few turtles too!), being wowed by the sound of the waves crashing against tne rocks below and enjoying the amazing sunsets. The unit itself is true to the pictures posted. We found it to be very clean, well maintained and nicely furnished. The Queen sized bed is very comfy and set next to the sliding doors so you can lay in bed and see and hear, the ocean. The kitchen is well stocked and has many small appliances including a great blender for mixing up some delicious cocktails! The TV area has a large couch and big screen TV with all kinds of channels. There is a large collection of DVDs as well as a number of books to borrow. The unit also has equipment for various sport activities—snorkelling gear, boogie boards, fishing rods and tackle box—as well as 2 beach chairs, umbrella, towels and cooler. And of course, there is a great beach next door, Magic Sands Beach! Thank you Jan and Glen for sharing your wonderful vacation home with us. We had a wonderfully magical time here! My husband and I are so happy we chose this place. The view from the balcony was amazing. Place was well stocked we did not cook dinner in the kitchenette but enjoyed our coffee on the balcony each morning. Location was perfect we would love to stay here again!
