We enjoyed our stay, celebrating our parents' 60th wedding anniversary! Thank you for the yummy breakfast cookies and your helpfulness with everything! The house had plenty of room for us...more than I imagined from the pictures! The house was as pictured and a great location. Thank you, Ingrid, for checking in to make sure we were taken care of. I would recommend this property!

Home away from home
Our family had such a wonderful time in Chattanooga. Days were spent at special local sites. Children's Discovery Museum, Coolige Park, Rock City, Rock climbing gym, golf, motorcycle museum, aquarium and eating in a wide variety of restaurants.Best of all was being a part of our sons wedding. How wonderful it was to know at the beginning and end of these busy days that we had Ingrids Harbor View to relax at and enjoy the comforts of her home. Our 17 month old granddaughter loved all the open space and the quiet bedroom for naps. The location of the home was perfect for getting around the area. I can't say enough about the hospitality we received. Wonderful treats from a kind heart!

Spacious and comfortable, in a very quiet neighborhood
This was a great place to stay while attending a family reunion nearby. Lots of space for smaller groups to gather. Especially appreciated the board games and toys to occupy the children. And cannot forget the gracious hostess and warm cinnamon rolls. Don't miss the Aquarium while you're in the area.

Chattanooga Home
We had a wonderful experience at the Jones house. The house was easy to find and close to all the points of attraction that we wanted to visit. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. The house has amazing backyard decks and we enjoyed the fire pit. We did some cooking, and although there were lots of pots/pans and utensils, there were not any cooking staples that we could find. So, if you are planning on cooking, be sure to bring spices, cooking oil, coffee etc.... I would recommend the home to anyone. It is spacious, clean and was an amazing getaway for our family.

Large and Spacious condo
I would have rated more if the rest rooms have proper locks. And we have been informed the toilet tissue will cloak the drainage.
Otherwise a nice place to stay spacious, fully equipped with necessary furniture, den at 3 levels, big living room, kitchen and dinning rooms.

Eswar,
i am so sorry that a blocked toilet was an inconvenience to you and your family. My goal is always to make sure our guests are comfortable and their needs are met. I always want my guests to report problems in our home right away. I wished I had been alerted of the problem with the toilet before your checkout time, because I would have contacted the plumber right away. In fact, the toilet was cleared on that day --less than 4 hrs. after you checked out. Again, I apologize that this problem was an inconvenience to you and your family.

Large and welcoming!
Typically when we visit our two adult children in Chattanooga we stay in one of their homes.
This trip was different because three of my sibs (and their spouses) were also coming for a
visit. We needed a special 'good-family-time house' - and this one was just perfect!
All four bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished and provided each of us with the privacy we needed.
The living area, however, is what really impressed. Both the den and the living room are large and
welcoming (the spinet in the corner is tuned). While we enjoyed those spaces we tended to congregate
most on the main level deck off the kitchen, the kitchen itself, and the dining areas.
The kitchen is much larger than the photos indicated and is user-friendly. We have rented some
pretty spectacular vacation homes ranging from Alaska to Nova Scotia to The Bahamas. All of them
had workable 'gourmet' kitchens, but none of them allowed for multiple cooks working at different counters
(while a non-cook is fishing a beer out of the fridge and another is popping a wine cork). This one did.
The deck off the kitchen is also much larger than photos indicate. It is a delightful space overlooking a
large yard, glimpses of the lake and the grilling deck - "How are those steaks doing, Mark!?!"
The dining room and the dining table in the living room are actually adjacent to each other. Ingrid has
more than enough chargers, napkins/rings to set both tables. We were 14 at table(s) with room to spare.
A good time was had by all. I want to go back.... Oh! did I mention the tasty oatmeal treats and cinnamon
rolls!?! Thank you, Ingrid.

Felt right at home
There were nine of us that stayed in the house. The house is very spacious comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed for our four day stay. It felt like our own home. The owners are very nice. Only saw them for a few minutes when we arrived and the night before our departure. In both cases they left leaving us with great tasting cinnamon rolls. The house is in a great location for visiting the sites of Chattanooga. The outdoor fire pit was just an added bonus for us and we made use of it. Everyone in our group felt right at home and looked forward to the end of our day to unwind and relax. I definitely recommend this place to stay.

Roomy and Nice
The house had plenty of room, a nice kitchen with everything we needed, good bedroom/bath access, plenty of family area with comfortable furniture, a dining room that was easily big enough for all 11 of us, a large deck with a view of the lake, and very nice owners. Everything was in good working order and the beds were comfortable. The owner had told me they live in an apartment on the property that was separate from the house that had been converted from a garage. I had pictured something completely separate from the house, but it was an apartment where the garage had been in the house. It was a little surprising to realize the owners were just on the other side of the wall when we were in the family room or foyer, and I have to admit, I was initially a little concerned. Mostly, because we had 5 children with us, ages 8, 7, 6, 4, and 18 months. Also, we are musicians and had music going or were even playing instruments quiet a bit in the evenings. A bonus for us, there was a piano! Four of the children had one of the bedrooms directly over the apartment; my husband and I had the other that was directly over the apartment. Our adult children had the other two bedrooms. But, there were no issues and all of us felt very comfortable after the first evening. I would definitely recommend this property for other families. We are from Chattanooga and visit family there often. This was fun, because we could all stay together and wanted to do "touristy" things for a change. It was a great trip!

9.5! Great stay.
This place was great. I've stayed at a lot of Vrbo properties and this is one of the best. It was well provisioned, set up very well to socialize and allows for privacy (3 1/2 baths), the owners were exceptionally responsive to any needs or questions that came up. The only caution I might note is that all the members of my group were over 65 and had some trepidation when tackling the stairs without any bannister or hand hold (why it's a 9.5 out of 10). This is the only property I have stayed at where the actual house was better than the pictures! The view off the deck was beautiful. The location is great as well - if you are not from Chattanooga you should know that a lot of what is to be seen in and around Chattanooga isn't downtown, this house is the only Vrbo property I could find away from downtown that's close-ish to Hamilton place mall, shopping, restaurants, movies, and you don't have to navigate confusing busy downtown streets or jump on an interstate to get everywhere. I will definitely be staying here again!

Family Time for the 4th of July
Our family got together at Harbor View for the 4th of July holiday, traveling from MO, NC and FL … four families enjoying a true Home Away home!! We were greeted with homemade cinnamon rolls and delicious breakfast cookies. The four bedroom, four bathroom home was perfect for our group. Other family members camped at nearby Harrison Bay State Park and came over for family dinners, game night and to watch the US women win the FIFA World Cup. Go USA!!
Although it rained most of our time in Chatt, we were so comfortable at Harbor View. A couple of the outside decks are covered and there are plenty of separate gathering areas inside for groups to spend time together. We enjoyed taking walks in the neighborhood and we took advantage of the proximity to downtown with visits to the Riverpark and the Aquarium. Several different groups went to the Tennessee Valley Railroad, the Chickamauga National Battlefield, kayaking at the state park and of course, Rock City!!
Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed … charcoal for the grill, extra batch of cinnamon rolls and some corn on the cob & watermelon for our cookout!!

Mother of the Bride
We rented this property for bridal wedding party. Everything was wonderful. The attention to detail was perfect. The owner had a gift for the bride waiting with a card, brownies and breakfast cookies. It was lovely. The table was completely set for their dinner and it made a good impression. It showed honor to the bride and her guests and we were thrilled. I highly recommend this property for your vacation without hesitation.
Of note - the owner does live on the premises but you will never hear them or see them and we never felt uncomfortable.

House for rent in quiet neighborhood in Chattanooga, TN
The house met all of our expectations. It had four large bedrooms, two with their own baths. The other two shared a Jack & Jill bathroom. The kitchen was large and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the deck off the kitchen. The property is on the east side of Chattanooga. There were only two things that we would change. The stairway from the kitchen to the family room, and the stairway from the foyer to the living room could both use handrails.

A pleasant experience
My wife and I stay over the Easter weekend was such a a pleasant one. The owners were friendly, gracious and professional. The owners spoiled us with some scrumptious homemade cookies and cinnamon rolls. They were AWESOME! OMG! We loved the location - very quiet with hardly any traffic on the street. The house was nice and clean with a serene and relaxing ambience. The view from the decks looking across the lake was so refreshing and calming to my mind, body and soul. Would I stay at this home again? Would I recommend this home to a friend? ABSOLUTELY!

part 2....could have been perfect,
Just wanted to take a minute and amend my earlier review, and upgrade it to 5 starts. The owner has made contact, and will be taking the necessary steps to make the home perfect for renters. As the home is beautifully decorated and has a perfect layout for a group or family, I do not hesitate to fully recommend this property.

could have been perfect, but....
The interior of this home is beautifully decorated and the decks are amazing. There is a very nice view of the lake from the decks. The homeowner is very kind ans sweet and thoughtful, added many personal touches that made us feel like honored guests, and brought us still warm from the oven cinnamon rolls shortly after we arrived. Our group consisted of 4 women friends who get together annually for a girls' weekend. Our primary purpose is to spend time together catching up and sharing meals. The house is perfect for that. BUT, we didn't not realize until after we had committed to rent that the property owners live in the house, even while renters are there. They have converted the garage, which is below at least 2 of the bedrooms and on the other side of the den wall, into their home. As in any home, it was easy to know when they had visitors or took showers or got up during the night from the voices that carried through the walls or the water running through the pipes. Though we never saw the owners after receiving the cinnamon rolls, we were always aware of their presence and all of agreed it was uncomfortable. I would have given this property at least 4 stars if not for this. It may not be an issue for others, but I do believe potential renters need to know this information in advance so that there are no surprises.

About the host
Hosted by Ingrid Jones
I am an educator who loves people and taking care of their needs. We downsized our living space and enjoy sharing our home with other families. I love the hospitality industry. Check out our reviews and you will note that we take good care of those who have stayed in our home.
Why they chose this property
This property is my dream home because of its proximity to the water. My husband and I had searched for a home for about 1 year when I stumbled upon this neighborhood. The water attracted me, because there is something so soothing and calming about relaxing around water. After careful consideration we decided to purchase and make this the home where we would reside with our family. Now, all our children are adults and are living in their own homes. So we have made some updates, which includes downsizing our living space. We turned our garage (450 sq. ft) into an efficiency apartment which my husband and I now occupy. This enable us to share the rest of our 3700 sq. ft. home with others looking for a living space like ours. Whereas we live on site, families who have stayed with us do not need to worry because we give them their complete privacy. I am an educator, so when families come with children, no need to tell the kids to be quiet, because we love to hear the sounds of children and families enjoying the home. This is such a great space for families to enjoy!
What makes this property unique
The location of this home is close to important interests of visitors/guests to the city. It is 5 minutes away from public access to Chicamauga Lake, where there are locations for fishing, swimming and other recreational activities. It is 7-8 minutes away from the Volkswagen Plant, and the Hamilton Place Mall off I-75. Access to this area gives guests tons of places to shop and dine (Olive Garden, P.F. Changs, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Chili's, J. Alexandars, etc.). It is 15 minutes to downtown Chattanooga and its TN River shoreline.
