Silver Olives Villa With Private Swimming Pool, Sea View And Remarkable Garden.

Nestling in beautiful rolling hills and countryside in the North West of Corfu is the Silver Olives Villa. Set amongst truly remarkable gardens and approached via an unmade track, Silver Olives is a refurbished country manor house where original features still remain.
The house is laid out as an upside down house with all bedrooms on the entrance level and the living and kitchen on a lower level. Off from the entrance is a small sitting area and the villas bedrooms; a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, twin bedroom with small en-suite shower and a further double bedroom with full bathroom adjacent, boasting patio doors with access to a sea facing balcony.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned at no extra charge.

Stairs lead down to the lower level. On this level is a sitting room and a large open plan kitchen/dining area which is well equipped for self catering villa holidays. There is a further bathroom located on this level for added convenience. Patio doors lead out to the delightful pool terrace and garden.

The large 10 metre private pool is situated amongst well furnished terraces and there are plenty of areas to choose from to read a good book in total peace!
High walled gardens and well established trees and plants give this property total peace and privacy, whilst still being able to soak up the Corfu sunshine and those spectacular views.

The nearby traditional Corfu village of Magoulades is just a short drive away, where you will find a bakery, a small cafe and a taverna offering authentic dishes. For those wishing to visit the beach, Arillas is a real favourite and there are a selection of tavernas serving up daily catch.

Großartig - die Außenanlage mit dem Pool ist ein Traum und liebevoll gepflegt! Die Anreise war erwartungsgemäß schwierig aber man gewöhnt sich schnell daran. Drinnen herrscht Museumsatmosphäre. Die Betten sind hübsch aber eine Zumutung für den Rücken. Keine Dusche war ein Vergnügen.

Perfect place to relax

We had a great time in this villa with our family. The terrace with the pool area is very beautiful and offers a lot of space to relax or play with kids. Kitchen had everything we need and beds were comfy. Cleaning ladies were very helpful and polite. Nothing to complain and 100% recommended.

Fantastic - so pleased we stayed

Thank you to Eleni and her family - we had a wonderful holiday. The property is fantastic; being located high up in the hills you get great views out to sea and also across to Albania. There are terraced gardens, verandas and many lovely places to sit, relax and enjoy the views (watching the sun go down with a glass of very cheap but exceptionally good wine from the local supermarket is highly recommend). The house had everything we needed (including air on in the bedrooms which was needed). Eleni was easy to contact and very helpful, offering advice on good places to eat. We met Eleni’s father, an absolute gent, such a nice and kind person; he gave us some tomatoes from his garden which were some of the best we’ve tasted and went well in a Greek salad. The property is perfect if you want to get away from the crowds and really relax, obviously you need a car and we actually changed ours a few days into the holiday to get a 4x4/SUV so we could go along more of the non tarmac tracks. The surrounding beaches are ok, but worth finding quieter ones - we hired a boat (our first time) for a day and anchored near a small beach just west of Porto Timoni beach - great memories swimming with the fish A trip into Corfu town is worthwhile, it’s busy but at a slow pace with people milling around and enjoying the general cafe culture surrounded by Venetian architecture. We went up to the fort, not expensive, a small climb rewarded us with 360degree views. All in all, a very good holiday and we highly recommend a stay at Eleni and Alexi’s holiday home. Homely villa in stunning location

We stayed for one week at Silver Olives. It really is a delightful villa and a fantastic off the beaten track location, but still within a 12 minute drive to local sandy beaches. The gardens and views were stunning and the wonderful pool was enjoyed by the whole family - especially the kids (age 9 & 10). We explored the local area (hire car essential), spent afternoons mainly on Arillas beach and Agios Georgios (can get taxi boat to Porto Timoni beach) and other watersport options which kids loved. Some great local tavernas nearby and we enjoyed a lovely evening watching the sunset at Afionas. We made the one hour trip to Acqualand for the kids - which was great fun. Eleni was so efficient communciating with us and her father left us some delicious figs one morning. A really super week away from the hustle and bustle, but within reach of many beaches and day excursions. Thank you Eleni and family.

Traumhaus mit Meerblick

Das war ein wunderschöner Urlaub in einer gepflegten Traumvilla mit großem Pool und grandioser Gartenanlage mit Blick auf das Meer. Der Sonnenuntergang ist sehr schön anzusehen. Wir kommen gerne wieder und die Vermieter sind sehr Gastfreundlich und nett, sie helfen jederzeit und geben Tipps.

Wonderful villa

We enjoyed our stay tremendously at Silver Olives. All of the family made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. The villa is very quiet and tranquil, in a rural setting, which is what we wanted, but still just a short drive from restaurants, supermarkets, beach etc. The views are simply stunning from the villa - they take your breath away. The sunsets across the Ionian Sea were mesmerising. The gardens surrounding the pool are beautiful and the pool is fabulous. This is a little bit of paradise and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Beautiful and remote, perfect location.

Silver Olives villa is wonderful, as are the family who own it. The whole experience from booking to leaving has been relaxed and easy and we have had a wonderful family holiday. The views are incredible, the pool a great size, the interior also lovely, there are so many areas to sit and relax inside and out, and yet Arillas beach is just a short drive away and supermarkets/Sidari even closer if you take the back route (only advisable with a good SUV). If you like to be away from it all, then this is the perfect villa. The wifi had blown out during a lightning storm just before we arrived and yet as soon as we realised, the owners whizzed off to buy a new modem and it was fixed. Awesome!

Peaceful, beautiful, remote as well as surpirsingly close to some tourist and lesser known hotspots.

We've stayed in a lot of villas over the last 8 years or so, and this is one of the nicest. It takes a bit of finding - head to Magoulades from Sidhari. Wind your way up through the hillside village, lots of hair-pins and narrow roads until you get to the top, and then you'll see the first of about 4 signs to Silver Olives where you turn right. You then pretty much keep going straight on following the signs. After about 2km the road becomes a bumpy track and after about another 1kn you'll reach Silver Olives, just after Robin's nest, with the drive just after the house. There is a quicker route down a bumpier track to Sidari but it's steep and not advised to go back up it in a car. We made it down OK. The house, gardens and pool are all bigger than the photos suggest. Plant pots, flowers and fruit everywhere, and surprisingly not too many bugs (you'd expect a few). Inside, huge living space and bathroom downstairs, and three large bedrooms, two en suite upstairs, plus another more formal lounge we didn't use. It's about 8-10 minute drive to the larger supermarkets in Sidari via the shortcut (5 minutes in a 4x4), and about 10 minutes the other way to the small resorts of Arillas and San Stafanos. Eleni, Alex and family very warm and welcoming and made time to show us some lovely spots - thank you!!!

Wonderful Holiday

We had a lovely time here. It's a beautiful family home, with a fantastic view over the hills, very quiet and peaceful. Lovely pool. The garden and plants are stunning, lovingly watered and tended to by the owner. Eleni and her family are very warm and welcoming, and when we had a small problem with the air conditioning, arranged someone to come round and fix it immediately. It's perfect if you want somewhere beautiful and quiet, a genuine family home a bit away from the resorts, near a small town, and beaches, shops, etc are only a 10-15minute drive away. Thank you Eleni and family - we all had a fantastic time!

Fantastic

Arrived early June, was worried when booking due to lack of reviews, needn't have worried! The location, although 'remote' is very peaceful, yet only 5 mins drive from the bakers, and 10 minutes from a supermarket. We didn't need the aircon much as it was early in the season. Internet was adequate and stable, extending out to the pool area, although the power went a couple of times during lightening storms. Bandwidth was adequate for streaming Netflix. The views are stunning, and the gardens are amazing. The photo's do not do the place justice, as nice as they look, the reality is nicer. The villa itself is comfortable and very clean, and has pretty much everything required for a family for a few weeks. There are lots of places to sit and relax, and watch the lovely sunsets. Eleni and family, including her dad, are lovely, we had a great meal out with them, a highlight of the trip! Car is essential, but navigating around is pretty easy a day or so. Plenty of restaurants around, not expensive! McHardy family

Lovely villa & gardens, peaceful,

The description of the villa & gardens is perfect, probably bigger than the pictures portray. It is in a remote location which is perfect if you want to get away from the madding crowd & recharge your batteries. Beautiful views across the bay & stunning sunsets. Alex tends to the garden which is "remarkable" - what a paradise! The pool is large, probably the biggest we have had for a private villa. Alex, his wife & his daughter Eleni & her family are lovely & ensure you are made welcome plus will sort any problems immediately, literally! The villa is very well equipped probably due to the fact that they live there out of season. It is very clean, spacious but cosy & keeps cool even when it is baking outside in the sun! The sat nav took us the shortest route which took 3 hours from the airport!! It took us along the west coast & up unusable roads to the villa! However it only took us an hour back to the airport!! So, ensure you take the central route via Gouvia, Agros then up to Sidari on the north coast. Then take the road through Magoulades to reach the villa. It takes 20 mins from Sidari but the roads are usable by normal car. The last part of the journey is on unmade road for 5 mins. Don't hire a new car!! We hired through Cosmos where you also get a discount. The local village at Arillas is only 15 mins away. Plenty of lovely places to eat & chill out. Would definitely recommend this villa & would return. Hughes family (children - 24 & 21yrs)

By the time Alex decided to build a home on the top of a hill, there was no electricity, no water, not even a road (only a path leading to the nearby monastery).My father was persistent and patient, although the people of the village thought he was rather bizzare.He suceed after many difficulties and a lot of personal work.....To my eyes he has always been unique, by choosing a magical spot away from crowded and touristic places.That's where I spent a happy childhood.
In 2002 the house was fully renovated and since then it functions as a family business.Alex is still there to offer grapes and figs to the guests, takes care of the pool and garden and enjoys his grandchildren every weekend, when they arrive from Corfu town.Every year we like improving our place beacause for us this is not ''just a rented house'', but our home. My parents live there during the winter and we join them in the weekends.
The interior house has a caracter on its own, furnished with old furniture of the ionian islands, mirors and paintings.Warm and cosy, ideal for family and friends.There are two fireplaces where we use to grill meat and sausage with friends in the winter, while we use the barbecue n the summer.

The villa has become a very special visiting place to all the guests who have visited us over the years. Precious memories from the serene atmosphere and peaceful environment. Totally unforgettable memories, full of awesome sunsets, beautiful flowers, all adorned by the warm welcome and the hospitality of the 85-year-old Alex, owner of Silver Olives.
In the night one can hear the song of the eurasian scops owl and the cricket.When looking above , the stars seem so close and the galaxy too.Straight ahead the lighthouse of Οthonoi island blinks in the dark, in the meantime to the right the lights of an albanian village are peeking.
In the day if you like walking and you're lucky enough, you may bump into a turtle or a hedgehog!
