Only 8 miles or about 15 minutes from world famous Cocoa Beach, Canaveral Pier & Ron Jon Surf shop. 45 minutes along the Beach Line HWY 528 to Orlando tourist attractions yet away from the crowds and traffic. Spend a day farther north in historic St Augustine or Daytona Beach. This 100-year-old home sits just 50 feet from the Indian River, with a large front porch that’s perfect for mornings and evenings by the water. The craftsmanship is beautiful, and the home feels both historic and comfortable, with modern updates like excellent air conditioning.The amenities feel thoughtfully collected over time, giving the home a warm, eclectic feel. We even found pieces that reminded us of family heirlooms.The dock is accessible but weathered, so it’s best to look it over before use, especially with kids. Accessibility was also better than expected for a home this age — the back door has a gentle slope and only a couple of steps, which made it easier for our walker-using traveler.The host was responsive and clearly cares about the home. Overall, it’s a comfortable and welcoming place to enjoy the river and the charm of a century-old house.

Great time at Strong Haven

My family and I enjoyed staying at this beautiful old home with so much history and charm. We loved the porches and especially the dock in the evenings where we saw a dolphin, a manatee and stingrays.

Sweet Spot at Strong Haven

Owner was wonderfully responsive. Location is perfect, right on the river and a 15 minute walk to Cocoa village. The sunrise from the property’s private pier/dock was beautiful. Excellent view of launches from Kennedy Space Center. The large front porch was beautiful and a great place to sit and relax.

AMAZING!!!

This property is absolutely beautiful. Has a very cozy home feel with everything you could possibly want. Views are incredible. My mom is wheelchair bound and this home was perfect with the first floor bedroom. Our family will be back to this home soon.

Strong Haven...Wow!

Our multi-generational family came for a family reunion in Cocoa. Homey and nostalgic, curious and fascinating, comfy and convenient, even toys for the little one, Strong Haven held appeal for all of us. From fishing early in the morning to sitting on the hugh porch late into the evening enjoying the river view after a trip to the beach or our reunion activities, we loved it! A step back in time

If you are considering a stay in Cocoa and want charm and comfort you could not ask for a better rental property with all the charm. The house was full of charm and comfort. It was walking distance to a charming downtown. Restaurants and boutiques line the streets. Stone Haven is the perfect location to all that this area has to offer. If you are looking for a wonderful experience Stone Haven is the perfect home for you. Morning walks through the neighborhood and the Indian River were beautiful.

Quiet, historic with great sunrises!

Our team at Ends of the Earth Cycling spent 3 nights here for our annual offsite meeting. This was the perfect setting. From the beautiful sunrises, to the front porch rockers, this was the place to be. It was really affordable and the wifi was strong. Our team of 10 adults all felt very comfortable and enjoyed the space. It's only a 1-mile walk to a nice selection of coffee and ice cream shops. Great location for cycling and close enough to Cocoa Beach, FL. We'd surely stay here again. God bless!

Great place for a group

Strong Haven is a beautiful historic home. It's great for a group. We had 3 family's and had more then enough space. Comfortable beds and plenty of space to dine. Our favorite was the porch. A perfect place to start the day with a cup of coffee and enjoy the beautiful view of the river also a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day with a glass of wine. We had 1 teenager in our group who loved fishing off the dock. Perfect location to all the attractions. Short, easy ride to the beach. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing. Thanks Vivian!

Strong Haven Sparkles

If you are wanting to experience historic Florida in Cocoa you, family, and friends will love Strong Haven. We leave today and I am writing this on the wonderful front porch watching a beautiful sunrise over the Indian River. We were visiting for a family party in Historic Cocoa Village which is located less than 1/2mile south. We were busy and our only regret is that we did not have more time to enjoy Strong Haven. The home is spacious and clean; with unique furnishings and fixtures, along with modern conveniences that made our stay comfortable.

You can't go wrong with this place!

My family and I are from Pennsylvania and we stayed at Strong Haven while in town for a funeral service. The views of the river were wonderful and being able to spend so much time on the large front porch was great! There are lots of comfortable chairs. The home is big and has lots of seating inside as well. We have experienced times in the past when a rental home would advertise that it could accommodate 12 persons and then only have seating for half that. That is not the case with Strong Haven. Everyone agreed that the beds were comfortable and that the three FULL bathrooms was awesome and we loved that the home has central air. You really can't go wrong with this rental home. If the occasion arises, we'll rent it again!

Creepy.

This is one of the creepiest places I have ever seen. My companion and I decided it was gonna be a hard pass after initial inspection. It looks like a horror movie set and the pictures online do not represent this at all. I felt as though we were being watched from the moment we pulled into the place. No window treatments, odd lighting choices, mirrors on mirrors an odd slanted room. I felt like there were cameras or something watching. I mean I was expecting an old place. I have stayed and lived in many old homes many over 100 years old but I have never had the feeling this place exuded. Needless to say we stayed elsewhere. Caveat Emptor. That being said, to each their own. You might love it.

Family Christmas Vacation

Overall, we had a nice stay at StrongHaven. This was our 1st stay in a historic home - it was an interesting adventure for us! The showers were small, but that is normal for a historic home - just took some getting used to for us. We enjoyed being able to go down by the river to watch for dolphins - we had one morning where we saw multiple dolphins swimming by and playing - including a mom and baby. That was the best highlight of our trip - so cool to see dolphins in the wild :) It will be beautiful to just hang out on the pier, when the storm damage is fully repaired - crossing our fingers for you that everything goes smoothly with that.We loved the vibe of the front porch and the front porch swing.We did have an issue our first night, but Vivian was very responsive and worked quickly to take care of it. We greatly appreciated it.It was wonderful to take a quick walk downtown and visit the coffee shops. We enjoyed grabbing a coffee and a sweet treat. Had a great time visiting some of the local stores as well.We weWe were able to see the surfing Santas in Cocoa Beach on Christmas Eve Day - lots of people, but it was fun :)The home was well stocked with supplies in the kitchen. Plently of towels, etc for the bathrooms.We didn't have much luck finding beaches with lots of shells, but we did enjoy just hanging out and getting some sun. They were all easy to get to.We had a nice family Christmas vacation.It was nice awayhaoutsunshineiFlChristmas.

Perfect Location to Experience All that Florida has to Offer!

Strong Haven provided the perfect destination for a family trip to Florida. I enjoyed the early mornings watching the sunrise over the Indian River from the amazing front porch. With a short drive to Ron Jon Surf Shop and the beach, our girls (age 10 & 11) loved spending afternoons in the surf and sand. The location in Cocoa was an ideal starting point for exploring Florida including nearby the space coast and Kennedy Space Center and as we drove further north along the ocean we fell in love with shops and sights in St. Augustine. My wife and I loved to walk along the river into Cocoa Village to visit the shops and grab a bite to eat at Ryan's Village Pizza or sit on the back porch Murdock's Southern Restaurant. My daughter's can't stop talking about the sisters who own the eclectic shop "The Mint Mermaid" and it has inspired them to dream about opening a shop together someday! We promised the girls a trip to Disney and it was easy to wake up early and drive an hour into Orlando to spend the day at Magic Kingdom. I noticed hoards of worn out families slugging along in the park as they were transported to/from their Disney Resorts. We found ourselves well-rested from a relaxing week on the beach and ready to take on the thrills of Disney. In fact, the trip to/from Disney World was so convenient I returned to Strong Haven with six colleagues when we had a work related conference at one of the Disney resorts. They all appreciated being able to connect at the end of the day around the dinning room table and discuss what we were learning at the conference. I recommend Strong Haven to all of my friends and family who are planning a trip to Florida.

Perfect location for everything

My whole family enjoyed this property! My son loved that we were just across the road from the river, and he spent quite a bit of his free time fishing. My daughter loved that she was able to have her own bedroom space and bathroom (huge plus for a preteen girl!). We loved the location as we were just a short walk or drive from anywhere se needed to go. Vivian was available for anything we needed for the duration of our stay. Highly recommend!
