We loved it! A little rough to find in waist deep snow (how can we complain about that), but once we got in, it was just what we needed. Just a block from Summit, had all the things we need, perfect little jacuzzi! Great for a weekend away! The managers were great about checking in to make sure all went well. We will be back!

Nice place. Walk to lifts.
The place was nice. Could sleep 8 in beds or 10 using the pull out couch.
We liked the location to Snow Summit- my kids walked back from boarding all day.
I think the place could use another couch in the living room not enough seats past 5 people unless you count sitting at the kitchen table.
Fireplace is gas/logs so no need for wood. There is a small washer/dryer which helped with wet gloves.
I would rent this place again. The owner was great to talk too and the office staff was great as well.

Great location with fair accommodations
The apartment was convenient, clean and roomy. Heater worked well and was a 10 min walk to the base of snow summit. The overall condition of the place was a 3.5/5 and no real updates since the 80s (other than the TV). Not that big a deal to me, but may help with expectations.
Only real complaints were:
- obtaining the parking pass, which was two different stops and required a prolonged explanation to the management company that managed all the condos except this one and two others.
- The pull out sofa bed is literally springs to sleep on. Not recommended.
- path was not shoveled and appeared neglected by owner/manager of the apartment. All other paths were shoveled clear and salted.
I would stay again, however I would have fewer people, as the pullout couch is not useful to sleep on.

Hi Matt,
Thank you for your feedback. We were surprised to learn you were disappointed with your stay b/c when I checked in with you via text you said it was going fine. If we had known you were unhappy we would have done everything possible to fix what we could for you during your stay.
We have contacted the HOA to find out why our walk wasn't shovelled b/c it certainly should have been. I'm sorry for the inconveniences and that the sofa bed was uncomfortable. I have updated the listing to make it clear that the sofabed is available but it's not very comfortable.
As an explanation for why we don't use Escape for All Seasons as our property management company: they were unreliable (which is evidenced by the unshovelled walkway), that's why we also pay Big Bear Vacations to manage the property in addition to our HOA fees to Escape. It sounds like Escape for All Seasons was complaining to you, so I'm sorry for that, and we also apologize that it was inconvenient to have to make two stops when arriving. I definitely understand that. Unfortunately we have found no alternative way to give guests parking passes while also providing high-quality and reliable property management service.
We are very committed to providing excellent vacations for our guests and apologize that we fell short during your trip. We would be happy to give you $50 off your next stay to make up for it if you would consider staying with us again.

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Location great! Cleanliness...not so much
I booked this property for my daughter's 16th birthday ski trip. While the location is absolutely fantastic, with just a short walk to the slopes, the cleanliness and repairs that are needed for this property are overwhelming. The pictures online are wonderful, but I should have headed the advice of other reviewers when they commented on the cleanliness of the property. I did alert the property manager, Rosemary, and she was very attentive and offered to have someone clean it immediately, however, the property should have been in ready condition upon our arrival and I didn't want to be disturbed with hours of cleaning that were needed. I took pictures of all of the items that need to be addressed and shared them with Rosemary. It doesn't look like I can share them with this review, so I will attempt to describe the conditions:
- Kitchen sink faucet doesn't retract and is difficult to move to either side of the sink.
- Dirty and stained carpet and couches
- Layer of dust of top of refrigerator
- Streaks of something coming down on some kitchen cabinets
- holes in walls that have been patched, but not textured or painted.
- Filthy baseboards
- Mantle was half dusted (you can actually see that they dust around the objects, not remove them to dust)
- Filthy Air Vent upstairs that hasn't been cleaned in months, possibly year.
- Master Bedroom bathroom sink doesn't drain properly
- Crud in the corners of both showers
- My children found hair in the sheets - may or may not have been from static, but based on the other conditions, I had my reservations.
- The bunk bed on the left is unsafe. It has only 4 slats and particle board. The slats are not permanently placed, you can actually move them around. The other bunk has the normal slats that are required for safety.
- Many of the cookware and inside cabinets were not cleaned properly. Had to wash everything before using, except the coffee mugs and glasses seemed useable.
- Underneath each sink was dirty and they left the toilet bowl brush just sitting at the bottom of each bathroom sink along with other crud that was left.
- They left only a 1/4 roll of paper towels and no extra T.P. in the master. I'm glad I brought both with me.
- The window downstairs would not lock. I found a wooden dowel to use to secure it.
For the amount of money spent, I expected so much more. I have never written a bad review on VRBO, but I just hope this warns others.

Thanks for bringing your concerns to our attention. I'm so sorry we fell short with the cleaning for you. We did everything you would allow us to do to make up for it, including refunding the cleaning fee. We do ask guests to let us know when they arrive if there are any issues and we will get them resolved ASAP.
Overall our stay was just fine -- the place was as pictured and we didn't have any issues getting into the unit or during our stay. The issues I have are with the charges & deposits. The owner requires a reasonable refundable security deposit, which is fairly standard. What is surprising is that in addition to that, they require you to either purchase an insurance policy or make another very large deposit. I wouldn't have minded that as much had the unit been in better shape. It's decently maintained but smelled quite a bit of smoke and the hot tub was not clean. The kitchen also lacked some basics -- salt, pepper, cooking oil. And the place needs more towels.
Location was good (especially if you ski) and the bedrooms were comfortable. Just quite simply, for all the money required up front, I would expect it to be pristine!

Since then we have had the unit cleaned/Smoke smell has been resolved and we now include additional towels. As noted on the door if you have any issues during your stay please contact us and we are committed to make it right. We hope to see you again soon. Thank you
This condo community is as close as you can get to Snow Summit Resort. Good location and easy access to town and shopping. Condo community is in a beautiful green tree setting, which we enjoyed, being from Arizona. The condo owner is trying hard to maintain the unit and is very cooperative. The cleaning person, which we never saw, did not do a thorough job as dust and small items were found on the floors, especially in the bedrooms. We used the town laundromat as the washer/dryer took several hours to clean each load. The patio is in need of repaving and the dirty grill needs to be removed. But, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would probably stay here again. It is a very quiet and lovely setting and we enjoyed our stay.

Location! All kitchen utensils, BBQ, sound system!
Big Bear is one of my favorite places. I find myself always coming back. What I liked the most about my stay here starts with the people. The people at the front desk and the folks I'm renting from, Rosemary and Sean. Great communication, expectation setting, and responsiveness from everyone.
Next, the space. The downstairs area has a lot of room. I love the kitchen table where I spent many days working from. On the topic of working, my work requires a stable internet connection and the Internet here is stable! I've clocked the speeds around 50mbit down and 5 up. Phone reception is great, too (I have Verizon). The guest room actually has two bunks, one is a queen bunk and the other is a twin bunk. I didn't know queen bunks was a thing. I had guests visit and there was plenty of space for them and their own full bath. Did I mention the BBQ was gas? Nobody's got time for propane tanks here! Large TV downstairs is great for movies and the all-in-one washer and dryer does the trick. Everything was clean and as someone who enjoys cooking, the kitchen had all I needed. There are 2 speakers mounted on a beam downstairs and you could plug in your phone and stream music. Sounds great! I also enjoy the keyless entry, I have a door code. That's one less thing to carry when I'm out mountain biking.
Speaking of mountain biking, I come back to Big Bear for a few reasons. #1: The mountain biking. This place is walking distance to Snow Summit. I often bike anywhere from a few to dozens of miles all around the mountain... sometimes having a late breakfast at Teddy Bears (one of my favorite things to do up here). It all starts at this rental. And driving a short distance to catch sunset. And the downtown... ah, the downtown. Whether I'm working there, or walking around, or eating there, or celebrating a Christmas tree lighting there... the fire pits, the parking options, the music, the dogs, the surrounding scenery... need I say more?
I haven't checked out yet and I've already booked my next return because the people, the space, and Big Bear – make this a great opportunity to snag while you can.

Great weekend getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay at this townhouse. The location is outstanding and we never moved our cars once we arrived. Big Bear was inundated with the most snow ever in January so not having to drive was a huge plus. The amount of snow seemed to overwhelm the town so plowing etc. was not done in the townhouse complex but it was definitely understandable. Rosemary was awesome and excellent at communication before, during and after our stay! We will definitely rent this place again when we return to Big Bear!

The Perfect Ski Lodge!
I booked this cabin for a weekend trip with some friends! The location is so close to snow summit that we just walked to the mountain! Rosemary was incredibly nice and accommodating for us! She kept in touch before and during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed! They only have 2 parking spaces available but you can park extra cars at a designated location in town. There were 9 of us and we were all quite comfortable even with just 2 bathrooms between all of us! We will definitely stay here again and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a big bear vacation!!

Great place and very convenient.
The townhouse was very convenient and close to Snow Summit. We took a walk with our snowboards and gear towards the back of the community and met up with the bunny slopes of the resort. It was nice to just come back to the cabin have a drink and lunch and head back out to the slopes without having to drop tons of money at the resort. My wife was able to stay at the cabin and relax while I hit the slopes without leaving her without a vehicle to get around. The sleeping arrangements matched perfectly for our group of 9 (7 adults / 2 children). For dinner we grilled some steaks on the outside BBQ, turned on the fire place, and drank some wine. The humidifier in the master bedroom was a plus. Also the patio was a nice size which allowed us to let our gear dry out without getting in the way. All in all the cabin was really great and we really enjoyed our stay here. The only minor thing was the BBQ's grill was a little dirty but no biggie, I just poked some holes on some aluminum foil and placed it on top of the grill. We will definitely come back and stay in this cabin in the future, maybe for mtn biking season.

So far, it was the best place we've stayed at Big Bear.
Every winter we go skiing to Big Bear and last seven years tried different property managers, cabins, and condos. Here is how Rosemary's townhome offer stands out:
- Great property presentation with bright high quality pictures
- No hidden fees and taxes
- Useful informational bundle, no ads
- Clean, modern looking, recently renovated property
- Not overloaded with mountain house style decorations (read no dust)
- Two humidifiers (read good sleep)
- Responsive, digitally precise Nest thermostat
- Gas grill.
This place is very different (much better) from its direct competitors - local rental cabins. We really enjoyed staying at this place.
