La Cabanya is a beautiful villa with more than 700 years of history but reformed totally in May 2007. It is situated in the village of Mata, only at 2 km. from Banyoles lake and 35 km. from the beach (Costa Brava). This is a privileged place since it is between sea and mountain. La Cabanya is ideal to spend some days with the couple or with the family.

The house is suitable for a group from 2 to 6 persons. La Cabanya has got 2 bedrooms with a private bathroom each one, mattresses 100% of latex, a full equipped kitchen, an attic, a living room with satellite television, DVD with 'Home cinema' and a fireplace, a high-speed internet, air-conditioning and central heating.

Outside, there is a nice private garden with barbecue, swings and a slide for children, a little wooden house in the garden and a private swimming pool with saline treatment and totally automated. You don't have to share the house nor the private pool . Besides, there is private parking for the car.

The ideal situation of the house allows you to do a great variety of routes on foot or by bike around Banyoles lake. Also you can do different excursions around Girona's province since the house is situated in the middle of Girona's province. The house has an extensive collection of touristic information of the Pla de l'Estany region and the Girona's province.

There are restaurants and shops in a walking distance (between 5-10 minutes on foot). The supermarkets and the hospital are located 1 km. from the house.
You can arrive to La Cabanya by public transport. The bus stop is located only 5 minutes on foot from the holiday home. There is a directe bus line to Girona and Barcelona.

• HIKING: The leaving point is La Cabanya. All the routes ensure a safe exploration of the region. They have trail markers and are organised in a network of loop trails, and hikers can adapt the route or the stages according to their requirements or level of preparation.

• GOLF: The house is located 9km from Girona Golf. It's an 18-hole, par 72 golf course designed by the English architect F.W. Hawtree, seeded entirely with Penncross, the best quality grass for playing golf. A course that is entirely adapted to its natural surroundings, featuring an advanced sprinkling system using regenerated water from Girona's purification plant, and meeting the most up-to-date environmental standards. The top nine holes are extremely competitive – their design requires players to use all the clubs in their bags. The bottom nine are simply spectacular, with all the tees set atop walls built with Girona stone, offering impressive panoramic views of the fairways.
