A beautiful home away from home

We came for our first Cannes Film Festival. Arriving at Claire’s beautiful villa after our very long flight was simply wow! The sun was shining the next morning and it was straight into the pool. 15-18 mins walk to the Palais with all we needed such as groceries and fresh pastries mins away we enjoyed our relaxing home away from home! Thank you Claire for hosting us! We’ll be back.

A lovely family reunion

This was a great place for us. My two sons came with their spouses and children, 8 in total. The place is large and has a lovely garden and a POOL... Everybody enjoyed the pool. It is also quite close to the Croisette and shopping. Super quiet place also. Our famlly reunion was a great success thanks in part to this lovely place.

The villa was a great location for our stay for the Cannes Film Festival. Everything we needed was in walking distance and la croisette was 20+ minutes by foot. The house itself was clean, comfortable and charming. The beautiful garden and outdoor terrace were a highlight…perfect for morning breakfast and evening apero. Claire was an excellent hostess as she was responsive and helpful to our inquiries. We would highly recommend!

Charming old house in great condition and perfect quiet, central location

The house is a great spot to spend some family holidays, as it's well equipped and quietly and safely located in a gated private road. Lots of space, big clean pool (~5 x 10 meters), modern kitchen and bathroom. Choose between the busy roads of Cannes and this island of quietness in the summer months during your stay. Your car is safely parked. Recommendation: bring your bikes... makes you navigate even faster through the city. But beware of the mosquitoes, thy are hungry!

Well-stocked and secluded villa, perfect for families or small groups!

Claire’s villa served my group of 6 perfectly during our stay. We took part in the Festival de Cannes and found this property to be well-within a reasonable distance from the festival and supermarket to be able to walk back and forth with no complaints. The villa is in a quiet, gated community, with lovely natural landscaping. My favorite part of the villa was it’s fully-stocked kitchen. We had all of the cooking supplies needed to whip up a wonderful dinner to enjoy out on the patio. Claire was extremely communicative and quick to respond throughout our process of booking as well as during our stay, even offering suggestions for some places we might enjoy nearby. While we never met Claire, she arranged for her uncle to manage check-in and check-out procedures with us, which were seamless. My initial concern with the property before booking was being limited to a single bathtub for a group of 6, but we actually managed just fine. Additionally, there was no shortage of towels or linens at any point of our 7-day stay. We quite enjoyed the character of the home, with its lively colors, brimming bookshelves, and unique artwork. A property well-worth your stay! Thank you, Claire!

Worth Reading Before Booking

Overall the stay was pleasant, the villa is located in a gated community and there is plenty of room both inside and out. The downfalls of the trip, which you can only know on arrival are there is no air conditioning on the property at all. The bedroom doors dont close and the locking mechanisms on them are in need of repair. Finally, be prepared for additional charges should anything through wear and tear break on the trip. Our final evening the entrance gates key was jammed (the entire trip the key locking mechanism was stiff) and we made the owner aware only to see a notification on my phone of €200 for a fine. I made it clear to the owner this is no fault of our own and it was general wear and tear. She made it clear it doesn't matter whether it is or isn't. So if anything is to need repairing on your trip be prepared to be held responsible as the owner wont deal with wear and tear themselves.

We've been renting our house on Abritel for almost 20 years and Stefano is the first guest we've had a problem with. Stefano fails to mention in his comment that the €200 covered the locksmith's fee AND an extra cleaning fee that was absolutely necessary after his departure... As for the "tear and wear" condition of the house he mentions, I simply invite you to consult all the reviews made by other guests...

Charaktervolles, aber in die Jahre gekommenes Ferienhaus in toller Lage

Wir haben zwei sehr schöne Wochen in Cannes verbracht. Die Vermieterin Claire war im Vorfeld und während unseres Aufenthaltes sehr sympathisch und hat stets umgehend geantwortet. An- und Abreise waren unproblematisch. Das Haus liegt wunderbar zentral, so dass Strand und Geschäfte und nette Restaurants fußläufig zu erreichen sind. Das Haus ist sehr alt, hat viel Charme und wäre großartig, wenn es nicht bereits so in die Jahre gekommen wäre. Die Ausstattung ist klasse, sowohl was die Küche, als auch vorhandene Handtücher anbelangt. Allerdings ist das größte Manko, dass die Beschreibung bei FeWo zwei Badezimmer aufweist, tatsächlich aber nur ein Bad vorhanden ist und es sich bei dem zweiten Bad um eine im freien befindliche Dusche handelt. Die Schlafzimmer haben wenig Stauraum für Anziehsachen, da die vorhandenen Schränke schon mit Handtüchern und/oder Bettwäsche gefüllt sind. Küche und Badezimmer waren bei unserer Anreise sehr sauber, das Haus insgesamt müsste aber einmal grundgereinigt werden. Die Schränke waren teilweise sehr verstaubt, so dass sie vor Benutzung erst einmal von uns gereinigt werden mussten. Der Anbau/Bungalow ist leider für Asthmatiker nicht zu empfehlen, da die Luft dort sehr feucht und der Raum schlecht zu lüften ist. Der Pool ist toll. Die Außenanlage bedarf aber insgesamt ebenfalls einer Überholung und der Garten könnte etwas Pflege und Formschnitte vertragen.

Nostalgie

Nostalgische en karaktervolle villa van een familie over diverse generaties. Authenticiteit bleef bewaard. Warme ontvangst. De woning is gelegen in een kalme en volledig beveiligde omgeving, te midden van het groen en op een tiental minuten wandelen van de Croisette. Kindvriendelijk zwembad. Alles is aanwezig voor een rustige vakantie waarbij alles te voet kan worden gedaan. Een aanrader.

Charmantes Haus direkt in Cannes nicht weit vom Stadt-Strand

Charmantes älteres Haus mit schönem eingewachsenem Garten und Pool. Gute Ausstattung - viel Platz. Obwohl mitten in Cannes gab es ein tolles Froschkonzert was uns aber nicht weitere gestört hat. Zum Starnd und in die City läuft man ca 10-15 Minuten. Wir 2 Familien inkl. 2 Teenagern und einem Hund hatten eine tolle Woche und haben uns sehr gut erholt.

Super séjour dans une maison très agréable et à proximité de toutes commodités

La maison est magnifiquement décorée et aménagée. Le jardin est grand et arborée. La piscine, la table de ping pong et le panier de basket ont ravi petits et grands :-) La proximité avec la Croisette et le centre ville nous ont permis de tout faire à pied, même avec une petite de deux ans. Le contact avec la propriétaire a été des plus agréables. A noter que la maison est très bien équipée en vaisselle, livres et jeux.

Great location in Cannes

Das Haus ist ideal, zentral gelegen. Das Haus und die Umgebung sind grosszügig. Schöner pool und neuere Küche. Leider ist im Haus einiges alt, in schlechtem Zustand und renovationsbe-dürftig (Sanitäre Anlagen, ...,...). Eine richtige Dusche gibt's nur im Freien...Guter Kontakt zur Vermieterin per mail oder sms, sehr prompt.

Charme et fonctionnalité

Très belle maison familiale, idéalement placée qui permet d'aller partout dans Cannes à pieds. Les commerces et le marché sont à proximité. Les familles apprécieront la proximité du centre sportif Montfleury (Tennis + piscine+ aire de jeux). La Villa située dans un havre de paix dégage un véritable cachet. Du coup aussitôt arrivés, on s'y sent chez soi. Ce fut un coup de coeur pour nous et nous gardons un très beau souvenir de notre séjour (hors saison) ! L'accueil qui nous a été réservé était parfait. Tous les ingrédients étaient réunis pour passer un très bon séjour. Si nous souhaitons revenir à Cannes, nous saurons où aller...
