October 2013 Stay

We stayed at Andrews cottage on our Honeymoon. I took snapped the pic of this plant because it looked like a heart :) We were very satisfied with Jekyll Realty; they were very nice and friendly on the phone and in person. My extended family has taken trips to Jekyll for fifteen years and ALWAYS stayed in Jekyll Realty rentals. The only thing is that we rented a multi-level home with lots of windows and it stayed pretty warm, but that was just a tiny thing in the grand scheme!

Peaceful, quiet Andrews Cottage

We enjoyed finding beaches around the corner (on the Sound side) to watch sunsets all by ourselves! The living room furniture is clean, comfortable & easily accommodates several people at once. The kitchen is very functional & well-stocked. Having garage space was a nice benefit. One queen bed is fairly comfortable, the other would probably do well for children/youth. The twin beds were pretty stiff, perhaps suitable for young children. On the downside, we found quite a bit of dirty floors and the bathrooms weren't up to par. It's disturbing to find recognizable foods that you never brought into the house, especially when you have little ones plus a dustpan full of dirt that I swept from floors we hadn't walked on. Neither were any of the mattress covers reasonably clean. The layout is perfect for extended families but the lack of cleanliness was a big problem.

Reviewer Comments: Members of my family have rented this house (too big to be called a "cottage" in my opinion) for several years, but this was the first time that I stayed there. I think that it may be the best place I have stayed on Jekyll. The house is very clean, and the furnishings are attractive. The kitchen is of a good size, and well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and cooking utensils. I especially liked the fact that there is plenty of sunlight coming in through the many windows. I do think that the two bathrooms could use new shower heads, and the instructions for using the TV need to be updated, but otherwise everything was fine. The only negative factor is that the front door is not at street level, and one has to climb steps to take in luggage and then go up more steps to the living area.Items destined for the two bedrooms on the bottom floor can be taken in through the garage. I like being on the south end of Jekyll because it is quiet and peaceful.

Great quiet spot on Jekyll

A nice clean house in a quiet neighborhood on Jekyll. The house is spacious with lots of room to spread out. Some aspects are a bit dated, such as the bathrooms, but the kitchen and dining room and upstairs common spaces are nice. It was nice to have the two car garage (we parked our bikes too). A great place if you like to bike or bird. Easy to get to St. Andrews beach (on the sound side, a favorite fishing and sunset spot) and Glory Beach, which is a quiet and beautiful beach perfect for kids or fishing. We biked to these each day--both would be a long walk, but a super easy drive with lots of parking. Bring bug repellent if walking--lots of mosquitoes from the woods!

Quiet getaway

Quiet and secluded location. No any road noises. 10-15 minutes walk to the beaches. Excellent sunsets at St. Andrews beach. Clean and cozy house, with all kitchen amenities one would need. Open deck upstairs and a sun-room and a screened deck downstairs. All in all, a relaxed environment to take a break from everyday routine.

We decided on this location again because the house has plenty of room for our family and we love how the house is laid out. We also enjoy the location of the house. It is always quiet and peaceful on that side of the island. The pool pass is something my family enjoys using. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. I loved the upper deck in the mornings and evenings when it was cooler outside. Jekyll Realty is always a pleasure to work with when renting a home on Jekyll. They do a wonderful job and are always friendly.
