We had an amazing time here. Cabin was extremely clean and in a great location. Close to everything we wanted to do but secluded enough to have privacy while hanging out outside. Lots of things for us and the kids to do indoors and out. We would definitely stay here again.

Samantha, thank you - we're glad the cabin delivered on all fronts. It's always great to hear that the location worked well: close enough to get out and explore, but private enough to actually unwind. We put a lot of thought into making our cabin family-friendly, so it's nice to know the kids had plenty to keep them busy, too. Hope to have you back. Victoria and Todd ~ bluemountaincabins
The property was beautiful and exactly as described! Our entire group was impressed and thoroughly enjoyed all of the accommodations particularly the hot tub and the arcade machine. The cabin was very clean as well as all of the linens provided. We would come back in a heartbeat and hope we are able to do so in the future!

Thank you for staying with us! I'm glad the cabin worked well for both families and that the kids enjoyed the games. Hope to welcome you back to the Smokies at one of Blue Mountain Cabins in the future!
The cabin was amazing!! Loved that we were able to enjoy the fire pit and the grassy area for games. The cabin is very spacious and everything was in great condition. We will definitely be going back to this property the next time we make it out to the smokies. Driveway is steep but we had no problems getting there and parking was flat and allowed room to turn around before heading out.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re glad you had a great time enjoying the fire pit, outdoor space, and all the room the cabin has to offer. It’s great to hear everything was in excellent condition and that the driveway was manageable for your visit. We appreciate you mentioning the flat parking and turnaround area, as we know mountain roads can sometimes make guests a little nervous before arrival. We’d love to host you again the next time you visit the Smokies! Victoria & Todd ~ Bluemountaincabins
Great location near everything but far enough for a quiet evening. Beautiful house and view. We had no issues with the house, everything was perfect!

Thank you so much for your kind review and for choosing to stay with us! We're thrilled to hear you had a great time and enjoyed the property overall. Just to clarify, while the driveway does have some incline (as many do in the Smoky Mountains), it's fully paved, in excellent condition, and very typical for the area. We’d love to welcome you back on your next trip to the mountains. Victoria and Todd
It was a great stay. Fun for the whole family. Everything was clean and looked like the pictures. Only thing I would add is updated string lights outside the hot tub. They are present but didn’t work. No complaints from the stay.

Thank you for your kind words! We're glad you enjoyed the cabin and had a memorable weekend with your family. Hope to welcome you back to the Smokies. ~ Victoria and Todd
This lovely property was enjoyed by a group of five for a week. We had plenty of space to spread out, but it also had great common areas when we wanted to spend time together. The home was very clean and organized. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for pots, pans, plates, bowls, and cups. There is VERY little extra, though, so don't expect too many condiments/spices or things like aluminum foil/zip lock baggies. The hosts provided basic paper products like paper towels and toilet paper, which were very much appreciated. The beds were a little firmer than we like, but they were comfortable enough and had nice, clean linens. There were plenty of towels in the bathrooms. The downstairs shower was very good - just not the greatest water pressure. The upstairs shower had an odd door that opened halfway into the shower to get in, which ended up being fine, but could be difficult for a larger person or anyone not very stable on their feet.Overall, we enjoyed the home. Be aware that the base of the driveway (which is a little steep but not an issue at all) is not the best for cars that don't have much clearance. Our minivan often scraped a bit making the turn, so be sure to take it slow. It's a beautiful area and within a reasonable driving distance to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge (15 - 25 minutes depending upon where you're going). There are nearby markets and grocery stores. Lots of great places to eat as well! We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your thoughtful review and for choosing to stay with us! We're delighted that your group enjoyed the spacious layout, cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and convenient location between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. For future guests, we do provide a starter supply of essentials such as paper products and basic household items. Details about what is included are outlined in our listing, rental agreement, FAQ, and pre-arrival communications so guests can plan accordingly for longer stays. We appreciate your comments about the beds. Mattress comfort is very much a personal preference, and while some guests prefer a firmer feel, many others specifically compliment the comfort of our beds.
Regarding the water pressure, the cabin is served by a private well, which is common in the Smoky Mountains and disclosed in our listing materials. While the pressure may differ somewhat from what guests experience in large municipal water systems, we have not received concerns about it from other guests. We're also glad to hear the driveway was manageable during your stay. Mountain roads and driveways are part of the Smoky Mountain experience, and we include photos of the driveway in the listing so guests can see exactly what to expect before booking.
Thank you again for staying with us. We truly appreciate your feedback and would love to welcome you back on a future Smoky Mountain getaway!
Victoria and Todd ~Bluemountaincabins
The cabin was beautiful, with alot of attention to detail in every room and outside as well. We loved the privacy, enjoyed the hot tub, and the beds were super comfortable. The hosts were also quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again!

About the host
Hosted by Victoria and Todd H
We are a couple who loves being "away from it all", the mountains, and the nature of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. We are avid DIYers, and our cabin is our passion. You will be dealing directly with us, the owners! We know the area, we know our cabins, we love staying in them, and, admittedly, a little proud of them too. We hope that our guests will appreciate the cabin and make wonderful memories in the Smokies for years to come. Log cabin living all the way!
Why they chose this property
Our search for a secluded and private cabin was initially unsuccessful as most places were located in resorts where privacy was limited and the cabins looked identical. However, we finally found what we were looking for in 'Appalachian Escape'. The cabin's serene surroundings captured our hearts. Although the previous owners had built the exterior, the interior was incomplete with no walls, flooring, power, or proper plumbing. We spent over a year renovating and installing everything including walls, doors, trim, stairs and new hardwood floors, insulation, HVAC, furniture, appliances, lighting, cabinetry...and...and...and... It was a lot of work, but the result is a fantastic, top-of-the-line mountain cabin that your family and friends will love to come home to and won't ever want to leave! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have lots to do, from hiking to white water rafting to fine dining and live shows, to horseback riding and Go-Karts. We know that this area can entertain virtually any family for years to come.
What makes this property unique
Appalachian Escape exudes a tranquil vibe with its natural setting and secluded "cabin in the woods" feel, while still being conveniently located near all the area attractions via paved roads. The spacious indoor and outdoor areas can comfortably accommodate families or groups while maintaining an intimate atmosphere. Situated in the vicinity of the Arts & Crafts of Gatlinburg, guests can enjoy browsing the charming family-run artisan shops and chatting with the welcoming locals. Pigeon Forge is also easily accessible. We take pride in helping families create unforgettable memories during their stay at Appalachian Escape and will do our best to ensure a fantastic vacation in the Smokies!
