Perfect location

Sophie is super communicative and her home is wonderfully located for exploring Arcos. The space is clean and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook.

Great location, excellent restaurants and sights

Sophie is extremely attentive, helpful and cheerful. The house was impeccable, very clean, functionally decorated and equipped. We stayed with one of our kids, but the house easily fits 2 couples and a child (separate bathrooms, toilets, bedrooms); one area upstairs and one area downstairs. If you bring a car, bring a small one. I highly recommend the property.

A wonderful base to explore Andalucia

The property surpassed our expectations being much more spacious than expected with a wonderful roof top terrace and amazing views of the nearby lake. We spent 5 weeks here basing ourselves in Arcos to explore Andalucia with friends and family visiting some of the time. Arcos is a very special place. Very Spanish, beautiful with lots of history but not too touristy. Also exceptionally friendly clean and safe with many excellent restaurants. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and full of local knowledge and suggestions. We will always remember our stay in Arcos with great affection.

Very Pleasant stay in Arcos

We had a very pleasant 5 night stay at this home in Arcos de la Frontera. The home is spacious inside, comfortable, bright, and well-equipped. Everything was in good condition and all photos for the listing are very accurate. The location of the house is great and within walking distance to all of the main area of "old town" and to quite a few good bars and restaurants. There is air-conditioning only in the living room. However, the bedrooms remained pleasantly cool at night thanks to the thick old walls typical of homes in these historic villages. The large rooftop terrace offered great evening views for sipping wine at sunset time, for stargazing, and a late night glass of sherry from Jerez. Having the washing machine was also very convenient (we are in Spain for 10 weeks) and the roof terrace was the perfect place to quickly dry our laundry in the sun. Communication with the owner was fast, easy and accurate whenever we had a question. We would certainly recommend the house and stay there again. Driving Note: We used the owner's garage which was VERY convenient and made our stay much easier. But, if you bring a car, be aware that the drive through the village is one of the trickiest we have done. There are two very narrow passages you must go through and some very tight turns to make. We had a Volkswagon Golf. Anything wider than a Volkswagon golf could not have made it through the very tight archway passage beside the church without scraping the walls. We are accustomed to driving on very narrow lanes in old villages, but the twist and turns in Arcos were some of the most challenging we have experienced.

We enjoyed a wonderful February here. The location is fantastic for exploring the west of Andalucía. February is the best time to explore as the weather is perfect.....I was able to sun bath on the roof.....while the area attractions are not too busy with the exception of Ronda.Arcos is a lovely town in 3 main parts, and with lots of lovely places close by to eat and drink. The views from the roof are amazing and we spent many evenings watching the swallows and taking in the view. Do not consider driving to this property unless your car is a golf or smaller as the streets in the old town are very narrow. There is plenty of car parking in the lower town, which is about 10 minutes walk away down a steep hill. There is a garage attached to the property at an additional cost assuming your car is small enough for the old town. The kitchen is well equipped, although some larger glasses for beer and water would have been nice. A microwave would also make a useful addition in the winter months. We visited at the same time as storm Leonardo which caused a lot of flooding, the house was very damp and cold, the blanket was very welcome, but maybe additional heaters would be welcome for the winter months, as the main room in the house remained cold throughout our stay. The house is on a busy street with single glazed windows and the builders start at 8.00 next door, so lots of opportunities for Spanish learning.Sophie our host was really helpful and a great communicator.

Séjour Arcos

Excellent. Maison très agréable en plein cœur de la ville. Propre et bien équipée. Conforme au descriptif de l'annonce. Le plus : stationnement dans le garage. Propriétaires très à l'ecoute. Connaissant très bien la région ils ont de bonnes suggestions. Merci à eux.

Une maison traditionnelle et très fonctionnelle avec 2 espaces bien distincts ( 1 espace parents et 1 espace pour les enfants et le repas) L'hôte qui nous accueille est d'une extrême gentillesse et très serviable et la propriétaire facilement joignable Le village est très charmant et authentique Prévoir une petite voiture pour circuler dans les ruelles étroites du village. Alojamiento muy agradable en centro población típicamente andaluza

Muy buena experiencia. Casa de muy buenas dimensiones y perfectamente localizada en el centro de la población. Encontramos todo lo necesario en muy buen estado y buenas condiciones de limpieza. Trato estupendo de la dueña y la persona que nos recibió y despidió. Magnifica terraza en la azotea con impresionantes vistas y cenas a ka luz de velas. Escaleras para salida de la vivienda y al segundo dormitorio en planta baja. Aunque es posible, el coche tiene que pasar por calles muy estrechas y llenas de terrazas de restaurantes por el casco antiguo. Repetiremos.

Arcos petite ville sympa au cœur de l'Andalousie.

Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances dans cet appartement au cœur de Arcos. Petit lac sympa et piscine à 15 minutes du logement. Merci pour l'accueil de Miguel à notre arrivée et nous remercions aussi Sophie, la propriétaire, qui a su nous orienter sur les bons plans et visites aux alentours de la région. À refaire .

Working Holidays

Worked in Cadiz, lived in Arcos. To reach House is not always easy, especially during festive seasons due to crowds if people . Enjoyed the staying there.

Lovely house in old town Arcos

Beautifully appointed house, everything you could need in a self catering property, located in the old part of town. Great views from the roof terrace. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. We would not hesitate to return if we were visiting this area again.

Atmospheric Arcos

A stunning White Village (Pueblos Blancos) of Andalucia, Arcos de la Frontera is a step back in time for those used to the fast pace of modern living. Tiny cobbled streets, whitewashed walls, sit atop of a high ridge giving dramatic views over the lake to the North and the rolling plains to the South. We flew into Malaga and hired a car and took a stunning drive through the hills via Ronda (recommended). I had my Sat Nav with me which helped until we got into Arcos. A small map had been provided to locate the house / garage but I guess both I and the Sat Nav weren't prepared for the very narrow streets and one way system - we got lost. I was glad we had not upgraded the hire car from the small VW Polo to anything bigger as it only just fit through some of the narrow sections ! Look at the route in Arcos on Google Maps street view as it helped us find the way. Pleased to see Juan Miguel (Caretaker) waiting for us as we were by then 30 mins late. No 6 Calle Bovedas is on a one way street and one of the few houses with a garage. The locals park anywhere they can, including outside No6 garage blocking you in - the tip from Juan Miguel was to leave the garage shutter half way open so they can see its in use. We were blocked a couple of times - hit the horn - they quickly moved the cars ! The accommodation is bright, clean and airy set over three floors. An en-suite double room and large garage on the ground floor, A double bedroom, lounge (fold out bed settee), kitchen and bathroom on the 1st floor and a small single bedroom and roof terrace on the 2nd floor. Lovely views from the sun trap terrace are over the rooftops to the lake and haciendas in the hills beyond. Decor is principally white with splashes of Spanish colours in wall hangings, posters, pictures. There is wifi at the property - Took a while to get working - had to phone the IT helper who re-set something. Kitchen was well equipped for us to prep meals and there was a Fridge / Freezer dishwasher and washing machine. The property is very secure - I had a lot of expensive camera equipment :) . We ate in Arcos several times and found the local food very good - try the Parador Hotel - stunning view while you eat. A large Carrefour on edge of town has all you need and a local shop is 30 steps from the door. Brits unless you speak Spanish use Google Translate / phrase book as few people speak English. Overall loved it - recommended as a base for your holiday in Andalucia

Very nicely restored house in the middle of the old town in Arcos, 3 min from the Cathedrale and a fantastic mirador. Sophie is a lovely host and provided everything we needed. We felt very much at home and especially enjoyed the roof top terrace. Thanks, Sophie!

La casa es muy acogedora y con mucha luz natural. Vistas preciosas al embalse desde la azotea. Y la ubicación es excelente en pleno casco histórico. Buena climatización y camas muy cómodas. Bien equipado, todo en buen estado y limpio. Las habitaciones están en distintas plantas.

logement spacieux, très propre, très bonne literie, bien équipé, avec une superbe vue de la terrasse au deuxième étage. Idéal pour deux couples, mais sur plusieurs niveaux, alors attention si vous souffrez des genoux. Arcos est très joli, et bien situé pour une semaine de visites en Andalousie. Je vous le recommande. Météo très chaude en aout.

Lovely location at the top of white hill town

The apartment was on three levels with two bedrooms and two baths, and an extra twin bed near the entrance to a rooftop terrace. The staircases and floors were marble. There was a nice kitchen, which included a clothes dryer (with a clothesline on the spacious terrace), and a comfortable living room suitable for families or college students. Arcos is a charming town, with very narrow streets. The owner provided information on the best places to eat. Her suggestions were very good and the food was inexpensive and just a short walk from the apartment. We loved the town and enjoyed the apartment, which because of its hilltop location, is best suited to a relaxing stay rather than a place from which to visit the surrounding area.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour ensoleillé dans cette petite ville d'Arcos de la Frontera typique des villages blancs d'Andalousie. Belle architecture et beaucoup de ballades aux alentours pour découvrir la région. L'avantage de plonger au coeur de la vie animée andalouse à l'écart des flux de touristes. La maison est commode et pratique pour un séjour familial ; belle maison au coeur de la ville à proximité du centre historique. La terrasse offre une belle vue. Le parking ( assez problématique étant donné l'étroitesse des ruelles est facilité par le garage mis à disposition. Nous avons été accueilli chaleureusement à l'arrivée et à notre départ par Miguel. C'est un plus.

grande maison spacieuse, propre et des propriétaires très sympas.

La description de l'annonce (emplacement, disposition et équipements de la location) correspond parfaitement à la réalité. La propriété est très propre, bien entretenue et bien équipée. Les propriétaires, M et Mme DARCET sont très sympas. Ils connaissent très la bien la ville d'ARCOS et la région. Ils nous ont fourni de très bons conseils pour les visites à faire, pour les restaurants et pour les courses Je recommande vivement cette propriété. Les restaurants du quartier sont à éviter : des restaurants pour les touristes qui affichent presque tous des pancartes "Tripadvisor" Pour manger bien et moins cher je conseille de descendre dans la ville nouvelle. Ce que nous n'avons pas aimé : - le manque de connexion internet dans la maison - la rue est relativement bruyante.

Un super séjour au soleil dans un lieu tres typique.

Nous avons passé 4 jours en famille dans la maison de Sophie. Nous ne connaissions pas l'Andalousie et avons adoré le village très pittoresque d'Arcos. La maison est idéalement placée au cœur du village, nous avons donc pu profiter d'un dépaysement total sans prendre la voiture pour arpenter les ruelles et prendre le "café de la manana" dans les petits restaurants du quartier. Sophie nous avait conseillé sur les activité à faire dans la région... Spectacles équestres, visites des pueblo Blanco de la région, et même les magnifiques plages à une petite heure de route. Une personne sur place s'est occupé de notre accueil, la maison est très bien entretenue, tout en étages. Petit plus... la terrasse sur le toit pour prendre l'apéritif et profiter de la vue.

I can highly recommed the

The appartment is nice with everything you need. There is a terrace on the roof where breakfast and evenning coffee can be enjoyed. The appartment is central in the old Arcos, so you have to pass through some narrow streets to get there - so do not rent a Caddilac :-) We where guided to the place by a very friendly local citizen without problems, but use a little bit of time before getting there to find out how to get to the meeting point - that will help you a lot.

"Une location typique dans un village tout aussi typique de l''Andalousie. Location conforme à la description, le garage proposé (à prendre impérativement) est vraiment un plus dans ce village où se garer relève de la gageure. La location est très bien située "au coeur du vieux village". Nous avons apprécié la personne qui nous a accueillis Miguel (ainsi que sa femme) pour sa gentillesse, sa disponibilité et ses conseils. Arcos est idéalement situé géographiquement pour visiter des villes comme Sevilla, Jerez, Ronda, Cadiz, etc. Nous suggérons une petite amélioration, dans la chambre du haut, au niveau des volets occultants afin qu''ils attenuent mieux la lumière des éclairages nocturnes, à part cela tout le reste était parfait et notre fille de 14 ans a apprécié d''avoir sa propre chambre avec SdB et WC. Location que nous conseillons pour découvrir autrement l''Andalouse."

"Séjour assez décevant. La maison est nettement sous équipée pour une famille de 5 personnes vivant une semaine à cet endroit. Les deux feux de la plaque de cuisson de moins de 11 cm, les 2 casseroles et les 5 verres etc... permettent difficilement de profiter de l''endroit. Par ailleurs, le coté très procedurier en amont de la location (paiement intégral un mois avant, etat des lieux systématique etc...)est assez lourd et pas forcement plaisant. Bon accueil sur place cependant."
