Set on nearly two private oceanfront acres in Bolinas, this distinctive mid-century modern home combines significant architecture, panoramic Pacific views, and exceptional indoor-outdoor living.
Designed in the early 1960s by Bay Area architect Edward B. Page, the home is believed to be the only Bolinas residence he designed.
Two dramatic 16-foot retractable glass walls open the primary living spaces directly to the deck and Pacific Ocean, allowing the house to function as a true indoor-outdoor coastal home.
The five-bedroom retreat accommodates up to 10 guests and includes an ocean-view spa, firepit, large fully fenced yard, game room, pool table, multiple dining areas, and easy access to Bolinas Beach and town.
With multiple gathering spaces and three separate dining areas, the property is especially well suited to multi-generational family stays, creative retreats, leadership offsites, and small corporate retreats within the 10-guest occupancy.
Mid-Century Architecture
Architecture is one of the defining features of this property.
Two approximately 16-foot retractable glass walls open the main living spaces completely toward the ocean.
When open, the boundaries between the house, deck, lawn, and Pacific largely disappear.
The home’s clean lines, natural materials, expansive glass, and relationship to the surrounding landscape reflect classic California mid-century design.
Great Room
The main level combines the family room, dining area, and kitchen into an open space facing the Pacific.
The retractable glass walls allow the great room to open directly to the deck and ocean.
A wood-burning fireplace provides a cozy focal point on cooler coastal evenings.
Dining & Gathering
This home is particularly well suited to guests who enjoy cooking, dining, and spending time together.
There are three major group dining areas:
Indoor dining table — seats up to 10
Oceanfront deck dining table — seats up to 8
Large oceanfront picnic table — seats up to 14
The oversized picnic table is an especially memorable place for casual lunches, family meals, and sunset dinners overlooking the Pacific.
The combination of these spaces also works very well for family gatherings, creative retreats, leadership offsites, and small corporate retreats that benefit from having multiple places to meet, dine, and spread out.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Arrangements
The home accommodates up to 10 guests across five bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 — Primary Suite King bed, ensuite bathroom, and sweeping ocean views.
Bedroom 2 Queen bed with ensuite half bathroom.
Bedroom 3 Queen bed with ensuite full bathroom.
Bedroom 4 — Lower Level Queen bed with access to a shared bathroom. This bedroom is on the lower level and can be reached without using stairs.
Bedroom 5 — Lower Level Two single beds with access to the shared bathroom. This bedroom is also on the lower level and can be reached without using stairs.
All five bedrooms include flat-screen TVs.
Additional sleeping space is available in the downstairs office and bonus room, but those rooms are not included in the official five-bedroom count.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped for extended stays and group meals.
Amenities include a Viking gas grill, coffee equipment, microwave, juicer, panini press, food processor, pressure cooker, toaster, and other kitchen essentials.
The kitchen remains visually connected to the dining area, great room, deck, and ocean.
Outdoor Living
The outdoor spaces are a major part of the experience.
Guests can:

Why This Home Is Different
This is more than an oceanfront house.
The Edward B. Page architecture, retractable glass walls, nearly two-acre setting, multiple group dining spaces, spa, firepit, fenced lawn, and walkability to Bolinas create a combination that is difficult to reproduce.
For guests who value architecture, ocean views, privacy, and gathering space, the home offers an especially distinctive Marin coastal experience.

About the host
Hosted by Oceanfront Retreats
We are professional hosts who love to provide unique getaways in some of the most beautiful places on the California Coast
Why they chose this property
Tucked away on the edge of Marin County, Bolinas is one of California’s last true coastal hideaways. Known for its artistic spirit, unspoiled beaches, and breathtaking views of the Pacific, the town has an off-the-map feel while still being only an hour from San Francisco. It’s a place where surfers paddle out at dawn, hikers wander the trails of Point Reyes National Seashore, and the sunsets paint the ocean in gold and violet. Our vacation rental is here because Bolinas isn’t just a destination—it’s an experience. The neighborhood is quiet, welcoming, and filled with character: local gardens spilling with wildflowers, cozy cafés serving farm-to-table food, and a sense of community that’s rare on the California coast. Staying here gives guests the chance to unplug, breathe the salt air, and enjoy the beauty of a place that feels worlds away from the city. The home itself is designed for relaxing into this slower rhythm—whether it’s coffee on the deck as pelicans skim the waves, or evenings gathered under the stars. It’s the perfect spot for families, couples, or anyone looking to escape into nature without sacrificing comfort. Bolinas has always been a place that inspires us, and having a vacation rental here allows us to share its magic with others.
