'La Casina' is a nice house was born from the renovation of the old barn of the estate 'Of Riggioboli'. A few steps from the large farmhouse where the owners live, 'La Casina' is the ideal place for a holiday to discover Tuscany and all the beauty that our region offers. Equipped with every comfort, the house is renovated and furnished with care. 'La Casina' is the perfect place to spend an unforgettable holiday; major and famous cities are easily accessible by car or train (eg Florence in 20-30 minutes). It is located in the middle of the Chianti Rufina, near the famous Frescobaldi's Nipozzano Castle , 'La Casina' is situated in one of the most important in the world for the production of wine and high quality oil. The owners are small farmers producing olive oil. 'La Casina' can accommodate up to four people, two in the bedroom with bathroom and two more in the sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped with gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and everything you need to cook in comfort.
The garden and the fields are at your complete disposal, you'll appreciate the flowers, the trees and the atmosphere you'll find at 'La Casina'. Here you can relax yourself, maybe also refreshing in the swimming pool.

This is the place to stay away from crowds and experience the local flare of Tuscany and Firenza region. Villa was lovely, safe, and as described online. We enjoyed the location to Florence and surrounding villages. Go to the town of Saltino, 25 minutes from the villa, for an incredible drive, view, and food, or try Tenuta Risalpiano for another restaurant new the villa. Overall, this was an incredible place to stay, relax, and enjoy the views.

We enjoyed our stay so much! Gianna and her family were so nice and welcoming! I don't usually stay at properties where the family also stays, but I'm so glad I did this time! My husband and I loved the views and I made dinner in the loft kitchen twice using the fresh herbs Gianna had growing. She was so generous and left us food staples to make dinner and it really came in handy the first night when we realized that we would rather drink wine outside than go out to dinner! One thing to note about this area (and most places we visited in Italy), is the restaurant hours. Many places only open for dinner and that starts around 7pm. Lunch is over at 3pm and most places close from 3pm-7pm. Everything was perfect for our stay and the area is lovely.

Gianna far exceeded my expectations. The house was the perfect get away for my vacation. The property was well maintained and the view was breathtaking. She gave me some helpful pointers on how to get around town safely and was always available to answer any questions. I had the privilege to roam and explore her property where olive trees and other fauna thrived due to her tentative care. My home was clean and equipped with everything I needed. I was even welcomed with a bottle of wine and olive oil from the orchard! Thanks you Gianna and family for your warm hospitality, It will always be something to remember! I’ll definitely be back

Vacation time in the Tuscany Region

This VRBO and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful. The herbs growing along the wall, the olive trees and beautiful potted flowers just add to the ambiance. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. A rental car is needed for the area.

Wonderful Stay

It was a wonderful stay in a beautiful area. The house is very clean and has everything you need for your everyday life. Gianna was a very warm host. She gave us her homemade olive oil and fresh vegetables from her own garden. It was very delicious. She also had useful tips about other beautiful towns in Tuscany that aren't visited by too many tourists.We would love to return to this wonderful holiday home. We had the most wonderful stay. Every thing is there plus some extras! Bottle of wine ,oil, coffee, milk the host also gave us eggs.There was also fresh flowers a lovely touch. Gianna was so helpful telling us places to visit and restaurants to eat at. You will not find a better host she really made us feel at home. We hope that one day we will be able to return.

We had two wonderful weeks with our dog. The hostess is already waiting for you upon arrival. Just in case you haven't had time to do your grocery shopping yet, there's already everything you need to make breakfast or pasta. Fresh vegetables from her garden are also ready for you. The cottage is authentically furnished and equipped with air conditioning, which was definitely needed. It's wonderfully peaceful, and the pool is cleaned every morning. The whole family is incredibly friendly, and the cottage was fantastic. In short, a very successful holiday, highly recommended!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Our host Gianna was welcoming and so l accommodating ! The nicest host in Italy

What a pleasant and exceptionally helpful host Gianna is. Property is located on a small farm, you will feel part of the family. It is quite compact so really best suited for a couple. Property is ideally placed for travel around Tuscany, esp Florence, . The local train station is only a few kms away. Many thanks Gianna, we especially enjoyed the fresh eggs and Garden produce.

Amazing vacation

We had an amazing vacation in Tuscany at La Casina. The owners are very friendly and helpful. On our arrival there were groceries available so you can cook a simple pasta, perfect for when you arrive late. You can get some fresh eggs from the chickens or fresh vegetables from the garden. The house is a perfect base for a city trip to Florence. The surrounding areas are also great for cyclist. After a city trip or workout, the pool is an excellent way to cool down,

Lovely property, great location

My wife and I stayed here on a recent trip to Tuscany. The property is beautiful and quiet and you could not ask for a nicer hostess in Gianna. She gave us fresh eggs from her chickens, rustled up and adapter so we could charge our phones and answered every dumb question we asked. We picked this place because we wanted an easy way into Florence and it is perfect for that. The train station is literally five minutes away and the journey to Florence just 20 minutes. It’s also an easy drive to lots of other Tuscany attractions and hill towns. It’s an affordable family friendly atmosphere. We loved our stay.

Delightful quiet Tuscany Farm House

We will be back! Gianna and her family made us feel so welcome. Very clean, Comfortable bed, comfortable sofa! Everything is just as described and the family even shared some of their own olive oil from their orchard. Fresh eggs and vegetables at our door were so generous! The turn from the road to the driveway is hard to see but Gianna helped us find it no problem! We will miss the countryside there!

Real Toscany experience

I stayed here almost three months. If you want to see real Toscany life, this Is the place to be. Whole family was very kind and helpfull. I did not have a car and I managed very well. There are many amazing hicking paths just nearby (starting from your doorsteps) and very good public transportation to Pontassieve and Florence. If you want to know what Is Toscany life, this Is the place to be. I will certanly come back.

Gianna &family made us very welcome.The accomadation was very clean and Gianna had arrange fresh flowers for out arrival.The bed is very comfy and the plunge pool was very welcome after a hot day out &about.Gianna was very thoughtful as we arrived Sunday she had left us useful food iterms to make ourselves dinner &breakfast before we got to the shops.During the week she left us fresh egg and vegetables out of her garden. Lovely people and location

Gianna and her family were so welcoming, friendly and helpful and did everything possible to ensure that we were having a great holiday, from suggestions for restaurants to sights to see. Gianna was always available, but not intrusive. We enjoyed a lovely welcome pack, including a bottle of her own olive oil, wine and beer, plus essentials such as milk, butter and eggs. The garden had lovely views across the valley and to the hills beyond. The kitchen was well equipped, though without an oven which wasn't a problem for us. The spiral staircase from the living room down to the bedroom and bathroom, though quaint, may be a problem for people with mobility problems. A car is essential to get around, including to the railway station at Pontassieve [10 minutes drive and free parking] for journeys to Florence and beyond, saving the hassle of parking in town. It would also be convenient to drive to Siena, which is well worth seeing, but can also be reached by train. We found a great restaurant just off this carpark called Bastian Contirario, plus another in Pelago called Leonia Bistrot. Both reasonably priced.We would thoroughly recommend staying at La Casina with Gianna.
