We had an 18 day holiday and this was by far our favorite home to stay in! The home is lovely with her easy parking, the location is so gloriously beautiful and perfect, and the hosts were very sweet and made us feel right at home. We wished we could've stayed a lot longer!

The views from this cottage are fantastic! Hosts friendly, the area is idyllic. It’s in, as you would expect from the location, in a quiet spot, but there are many places to go if you have your own transport.

The house can easily accommodate a large family with lots of rooms, space and parking. Just two of us and we felt very welcomed. A peaceful location, beautiful views and we enjoyed the experience of a peat fire.

This charming home was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. The location is ideal if you are looking for calm and quiet with absolutely gorgeous views. It was an easy drive to everything we wanted to do in the Connemara region, from Kylemore Abbey to Cleggan to hop on a boat to Inishbofin. The home is very well appointed with everything you need to be comfortable, including cookery, laundry, and even a few toys in the hutch that our son kept himself occupied with after a day of exploring. 10/10 recommend!

Absolutely loved staying in the beautiful home. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the towns, but close enough for a short drive for groceries, fuel, pints, food, etc...John checked in on us while we were staying to make sure we were having a great time. 100% would recommend and consider staying if we ever make it back to the West Coast of Ireland!

John and Mairead were wonderful hosts. They had the fire set ready for us and made sure everything was ready for our arrival after a long drive. The house itself is fantastic, with stunning views in every direction, even in a cold and wet February. We travelled out to various landmarks (Kylemore Abbey, the bridge from "The Quiet Man") and towns, where although it was off-season, there was still plenty to see and do. We will hopefully be back in the summer months.

Amazing hospitality. Something with the heat needed to be replaced and it was done right away. They were incredibly kind. I’m not sure I will go that far west again as it’s so far from things; however, I would recommend to anyone and everyone with kindness. The property is well maintained, clean and roomy. The only negative thing I can come up with is that the living room is very small with all the furniture but that is the only negative thing I could say and that’s more of just my opinion. Check them out and enjoy the area. It’s breathtaking especially at sunset.

John was quite welcoming and accommodating to the heating needs that come with a late winter stay. All I was looking for was a house with an ocean view and a fire to sit by. Although this home met those needs, it isn't close to restaurants or cafes for breakfast (I couldn't find anything within a 30 minute drive that opened before 10am) so come prepared to purchase breakfast foods and cook. My favorite aspect of the home are the two wood burners!The area is remote and quiet and peaceful. An incredibly beautiful area close to Connemara hiking and Kylemore Abbey. I definitely recommend staying here.

We have been coming to Connemara for 34 years, and this house is in the perfect spot for us. Not only do you get gorgeous views over the tranquil Betraboy Bay, but on the other side of the bay you can see Roundstone and round to the east, the Twelve Pins mountain range. The house is impeccably designed so that all the communal living spaces are functional and spacious, while somehow managing to fit in five spacious bedrooms where you can be tucked away with some quiet and privacy. It really is a functional house for a large family gathering. The house has an abundance of options when it comes to different facilities, from washing machines and dryers to dishwashers and ways to dry out beach kit. There's plenty of garden space for kids to run around, has good Wi-Fi, everything you could ever hope for when booking a house for a week. On top of that, John and Mairead were incredibly helpful and courteous, quick to respond with any queries we had. They really made us feel at home. Some people in other reviews have mentioned that Glinsk is a remote area, and this is true. It's definitely as asset. This is why you can enjoy local beaches, walks and mountains without the hundreds of tourists that are now flocking to other parts of Ireland's coast. There are plenty of shops and coffee shops nearby - within a ten-minute drive you can get all the basics, but Clifden, just 30 minutes away, has all the big supermarkets where you can get everything you could ever need. Highly recommend.

Stunning location

The location is unbeatable, the views of both the sea and mountains can’t be emphasised enough. We had great weather and were able to sit out each day and just enjoy the view and the peace and quiet. The hosts were so friendly and knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting information.

John and his wife are absolutely charming people, the house is very large, clean and very functional. The location is ideal for a quiet stay and a visit to Connemara. The sunset over the water in the evening is splendid.
