About this property

Beautiful eco-building in the heart of the Rocky mountains. All modern amenities

Situated in the stunning Blaeberry Valley, 15 minutes drive from Golden, our Cordwood Chalet is the perfect getaway to peacefulness and tranquility in the heart of nature. Built almost a decade ago, its confines and location offers a wide range of outdoor activities. My partner and I have taken 6 years to build this little paradise. We have design and built the place entirely ourselves. We have tried to use as much ecological products as we could and we are proud to offer our guests a stunning surrounding environment.
In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Cordwood Chalet is on an 8 acres property. The surrounding neighbourhood consist of mostly acreages mountains and forest. Our crystal clear blaeberry river is minutes walk from the chalet where incredible views of the surrounding can be observe. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling are few of several outings that can be done in the area. Our house is about 300 meters away from the Cordwood Chalet. The Chalet has its own driveway and is completely self-sufficient. We like to greet guests upon arrival. Although we respect their privacy, we are available for them at anytime for questions or comments. English ,French and Spanish is spoken

It was a magical stay, light snow all weekend, great temps, and the house/cabin and property were amazing. Priscilla was a great host, the house was beautifully finished, and both bathrooms were perfect, great little kitchen and spacious living room with a wood-burning stove.Good-sized loft with a solid stairwell to it, no ladders like in other cabins we have stayed at. 5/5 10/10 all day long, will not disappoint!We will be back in the summer :) Chris N & Terry Calgary ABDec 2025

We have stayed at Cordwood several times and as we get more familiar with the area, our experience gets more amazing. The home is perfect with uninterrupted privacy

Amazing vacation

My husband and I spent our Babymoon here, and had an absolutely fantastic stay. The views were amazing, we birdwatched all day long. A quick trip into Golden for groceries and restaurants. It was easy to find even coming in later in the evening. Communication was amazing. Overall would stay again :)

This chalet is THE place to go if you want tranquility. Priscilla is an excellent host and she has all the information you need for a great stay. The chalet is beautiful and fully equipped. The area is just wonderful with mountains, trees, creeks, river and the occasional wildlife. We didn't want to leave.

Thoroughly enjoyed the second trip to this amazing cabin in the mountains. Loved walking/biking every day in the area and sitting on the deck listening to all the birds. Really enjoyed our time here! The chalet itself is a piece of architectural art and I found myself in awe of its many unique features - really cool. Priscilla and Johnathan built a beautiful chalet. We were looking for a place to escape our busy work life and found that here. It was clean, perfect size for two people, close enough to town and full of spots to hike/explore. The hosts have great advise on where to go for hikes, and where not to go, listen to them :)

Amazing cabin in the woods!

Great place to stay for an adult couple! Super cute cabin in the woods about 10 min outside of Golden. Very quiet and private location. Spacious living room with a wood stove which comes in handy in the winter. We'll equipped kitchen and a backyard BBQ. Priscilla was very responsive to any communication and check in was a breeze with all instructions you need inside the cabin. If we ever come back to Golden we would definitely stay here again!

Peace in the Valley

This is a fantastic property in the Blaeberry valley close to Golden. A car is a necessity. If you’re looking for a brilliant property in peace and tranquility then this property is it. We saw two deer walk through the garden. The owner Prescilla is very welcoming and helpful.

You would not feel like you are traveling, you will feel like it is an extension of your home. I went in winter, the peaceful neighborhood that can be quiet without a sound at night, but the beautiful creeks during the day with the singing of birds remind you that you are surrounded by life. Back woods paradise

This cabin is a “one of a kind” paradise. Lots of wood and stone skillfully strewn together to create a home away from home. Every window, doorframe and corner draws the eye. The kitchen is warm and functional, supplied with all the amenities as well as some basic spices. The loft bathroom with tub has a large window looking out into the woods. Two outdoor patios complement and expand the indoor space. A short drive to Thompson Falls trail.

Immaculate Chalet

This place was so great, we tried to respect and leave everything as it was when we arrived. We didn’t get to meet Priscilla but her place is just wonderful. So peaceful and perfect for a couple. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and this was the perfect hide away chalet. One thing my wife wanted was maybe a privacy curtain in the bathroom window, but mountains and trees surrounded the place totally. Never saw anyone except a deer. Again just perfect..
