Lake House Saltspring Island

We are no renting for 3 month minimum at 1/2 price for the season


Outdoor living is is a big part of lake living, outdoor lounging areas with gazebo for sundown glass of wine, BBQ and fireplace. Please note we are a clothing optional lake so you will see nudity!
The main cabin features open concept living areas with gas fireplace and Tv for movie watching. The entire cabin has high ceilings and a fabulous wall of windows that brings the outdoors in.
The modern kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances fridge, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, kettle and toaster.
There is no laundry on site
The cabin is best for 2 people, featuring a luxurious king bed in the loft, wonderful view of the property. There are no walls separating the sleeping loft from the living space. A truly cozy and inspiring home with lake views and private access. There is a dock to relax and a kayak and canoe to paddle around the lake with .

Also on the property is a very nice caretaker with a friendly dog . She has her separate entrance and parking.

About Salt Spring Island it is the largest of the southern gulf islands, our property is situated on the South side of the island with an easy drive to the quaint Fulford Harbour and the hiking trails along the ocean of Ruckle Park. Only a 15 min drive to the main town of Ganges with wonderful restaurants, shops, theaters, and artist galleries. Once there, visit the famous Saltsrping Island Saturday Market, a food lovers paradise. The islands studio tours and gourmet food tours will surprise you with new found tasting grounds.

Excellent Getaway!

Beautiful property w/ private dock access to the lake, dog-friendly is so important to us so was so happy to find this gem of a place. We loved swimming, paddle-boarding (brought our own) and canoeing (provided) in the quiet, peaceful lake. Very chill, great indoor/outdoor accommodations. Will love to visit again!

Corner of Paradise

We were able to completely relax and enjoy the lake, the warm sunny days and quiet starry nights. We caught up on our sleep and then sipped coffee on the dock every morning. It was invigorating.

Beautiful Island Cottage with Rustic Charm

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The cottage is ideally located near the Saltspring Island Cheese works, Fulford Harbour and Ruckle Park. It's a 15 minute drive to the main Village of Ganges where you can see great shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc. We also highly recommend Wild Cidery and the Saturday market. Uta's cottage is perfect for those who instead just want to relax and decompress. There is a full kitchen and several outdoor lounging spots, including the dock on the Lake where you can enjoy your morning coffee, or evening glass of wine. Uta is lovely. She is very warm and welcoming to guests, and happy to chat about the property and make recommendations of what to see on the island. We look forward to returning sometime in the future.

Beautiful lake setting

Beautiful spacious grounds on a gorgeous lake. Uta was a friendly host in good communication to make sure all was working well. Kitchen was functional and pretty well-stocked but needs potholders and sharpened knives. Cottage was cozy but had drawbacks: the open half-loft bed area was challenging at night, especially for a sleeper on the inside wall. No hand rails on the steps down. Closet/study area was small and cramped. A lot of the owners things were in the house. Shower was very small, whole house (esp. bath) needs a deep clean - lots of cobwebs. We loved the setting and Uta was a thoughtful host with lots of flowers and seating arrangements throughout the grounds, but the house has some funky aspects.

The Lake House

We stayed at Uta’s beautiful Salt Spring vacation home for a week this August, 2023 and were lucky enough to catch some gorgeous weather. We were able to take full advantage of the lake, steps from the back door and spent much of the time in the water, swimming with our dog, kayaking and just sipping wine and soaking up the view. When we weren’t in the water we were enjoying Uta’s fully fenced beautiful garden, or lounging on a couch on one of the decks. The accommodation itself is wonderfully comfortable; artistic, boho and rustic with everything one could need for a long stay. We found Uta to be extremely friendly, and very keen that everything was to our liking. Whilst she was keen to learn of our exploits, Uta kept a respectful distance when we needed space and privacy. Whilst her adorable little dog was the perfect size and temperament for our little Yorkie, being old, he didn’t want to play. He stayed with his mama and was absolutely quiet. The accommodation is in a great location with many attractions within a short drive. We ate out at Salt Spring Wild Cider House a couple of times and enjoyed great food and and beverage - and our dog was welcome on the patio which was great! We visited Salt Spring Island Cheese and enjoyed lunch there, again with our pup. We visited Ruckle Provincial Park which is beautiful and totally worth a day out and picnic. All in all, I would highly recommend the Lake House. I’m sure at one point we’ll be back.

Just perfect

This was easily one of the greatest stays we've had within BC. The location was perfect. The lake saved us from the heat. Uta was so accommodating and easy to communicate with. We look forward to staying at her place again some time.

Perfect spot for a getaway.

What a dream spot. This is the second time we have stayed and it only gets better. The most relaxing holiday we have had in years. The location is perfect and the lake is amazing.

Peaceful lake retreat

What a wonderful 5 days we spent in this quiet lake house! The property was spacious for two people, comfortable, and well-appointed. It’s as beautiful as it looks in the pictures! We loved exploring Salt Spring Island and this was the perfect base camp for active pursuits as well as relaxing and recovering from the day’s activities. If we ever find ourselves headed to Salt Spring again, we’d love to stay here again!

Quiet and private, the perfect getaway!

We are repeat visitors at this lovely lake house. Beautifully appointed, quiet, private, and comfortable. We love all the outdoor seating, including the covered outdoor fireplace area. Happy hour was spent down on the dock after a paddle in the canoe. Uta is the perfect house host. We love it here!

Magical House on a Magical Lake

A perfect hideaway for a relaxing and romantic weekend! Uta has everything set up for ultimate ease. Beautiful and peaceful and close to anything you need - but why would you leave? Peaceful lake house retreat away from it all. Just perfect.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer, more comfortable place to stay on Salt Spring Island. The property is in wonderful condition, clean, great kitchen, super comfy king size bed, and plenty of space for two people to relax and unwind. All the different seating arrangements around the property are wonderful and added so much to our stay. It felt like we had an extra 'outdoor' room outside the cottage. Private lake access, with more seating, and a canoe to paddle around the lake are amazing additions to the cottage. The lake was beautiful to swim in, the private lake access is only a short swim away from a small mounted dock for sunbathing and hanging out on the lake. The owner was very responsive to messages, very considered of our privacy throughout our entire stay, and overall wonderful to communicate with. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this property to anybody looking for a get-away.

Gorgeous property and beautiful Lake!

Had a wonderful 4 day stay at this beautiful property- only steps from your own little dock on a gorgeous lake. Water was warm, fish were jumping and the birds were singing. Very dog friendly with full fencing and our pup loved hanging out on the dock. Numerous places to relax as there are outdoor chairs and sofas dotted about the property. Loved the inside- modern kitchen and very comfy bed. Private and a perfect couple with a dog vacation spot... We will be back!

Rest and Relaxation

The Weston Lake House was everything we hoped for and more! Private, clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. A perfect place to rest and relax! The owner has created a number of outdoor seating situations that can be used whatever the weather. Swimming off the dock and basking in the sun were sublime! The owner was a wonderful host; very friendly yet respectful of our privacy. Wish we could have stayed longer but you can bet we'll be back!

Living the Dream

I am grateful to have discovered this private lakeside resort. There is nothing like waking up overlooking the lake, diving into the warm lake, and then having coffee on the dock. The owner is very hospitable and made sure I had everything I needed for a relaxing and worry-free stay. The fenced property on the acre property was very much appreciated by my daughter's dog. I enjoyed the different areas on the property, providing for lounging in the giant gazebo to catch the late afternoon sun, having dinner on the deck next to the outdoor fireplace, and roasting marshmallows by the large firepit. Cooking in the modern kitchen seems like a holiday. Overall a great destination that I shall return to at any time of the year.
