We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was decorated beautifully and so cozy. It had everything we needed. Comfy beds. Loved the front porch and enjoyed watching and listening to the birds each morning. Super close (2 mins) from Round Top and cute shops on either side of the property. Would definitely stay again.

Cozy, Wonderful Weekend
I met a friend here for a weekend away from the city, and we were so relaxed! We cooked meals and shared them on the porch, read books curled up in bed, visited the adorable shops in town, and caught up on lots of sleep! It was a cozy weekend and I can't wait to do it again!

Thank you so much for reviewing your stay with us! We are so happy you had a relaxing weekend, and we hope you visit us again soon.
Super cute, like staying in a magazine layout. The location was perfect. When i checked in the A/C had been turned down and the house was cool and ready to enjoy. When it was time to leave…. The only request they made was to adjust the A/C and turn off the lights … so we were able to enjoy every minute without a list of chores to do :)

Close to shops, coffee and restaurants. Love the charm. Plenty of space for 2 couples. The only issue is that it is right off busy road. Since windows are older you can hear traffic going by a good part of day through early evening. Wouldn’t stop us from booking again!

Hi Gina,
Thank you for the 5-Star review! We’re so glad to hear your group enjoyed your stay and that you would also be open to coming back for a return visit!
We appreciate both of your comments regarding our location. It’s both a perk to be located so close to town and can also create a bit of road noise being located on the main road.
As an alternative, you might consider booking our Boho Cottage on your return visit, which is further from the road. If you book directly through me, I would happily extend a discounted rate that would match the 1450 Cottage rate.
Thanks again for the review and we look forward to having you back in the future!
Paige The Vintage Round Top Team
Home was very attractively decorated and conveniently located.
We came to Round Top to attend the Round Top Music Institute performance. Our nephew is one of the instructors and he also performed. We used this event to visit with other family members for a mini reunion. Next year we may reserve the whole complex at the Vintage so we can all stay together!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Nice, but we had some problems with our stay!
This property is nice, located very close to Round Top Center. We were greeted with a nice bottle of wine and chocolate… thank you!
The house was clean and well stocked ; however, the king bed downstairs needs a new mattress. It caves in and needs to be replaced; it squeaks when you barely sit on it to get in bed ; not very comfortable because it’s old and worn out. My husband came home with lower back pain.
We also had an incident our second night where the battery in one of the fire alarms went out and it started chirping loudly ..it woke us up and unfortunately, we got no sleep after that! Paige responded at first, and I was told to call her in the morning , but I never heard back from her after reaching out at all! Paige was responsive until she wasn’t!
We’ll opt to stay at Hotel Lulu in the future to be guaranteed a consistently exceptional stay !

Maya -
Apologies for the delay in responding. I've just returned from a conference and am catching up.
We’re glad you enjoyed the wine and chocolate! It’s our special way of showing guests how much they mean to us.
We also appreciate you letting us know about your experience with the mattress. Though we haven’t received previous complaints, our guests’ comfort and sleep are very important to us, so we are investigating it.
However, I was surprised by your comments about my lack of responsiveness and disappointed you did not share the full picture of the lengths my husband and I went to the night you phoned us about the smoke alarm chirping. As guest safety is our top priority, we immediately responded and were up over an hour at 2am trying to reach you. Since we did not hear back after repeated attempts by phone and texts, we sent the fire department to check on you only to find out you had your phone on silence. As far as the phone call the next day, I did receive it and returned it the same day but had to leave a voice mail message which was never returned.
We hope this explains why we were confused by your comments and are very sorry these unfortunate set of circumstances affected your stay.
We loved every detail about the Vintage. Page and Smoot thought of everything, we were extremely comfortable and relaxed in a beautiful setting. Will definitely be back soon.

About the host
Hosted by Paige Hull
Paige and Smoot Hull bought and renovated this country cottage in 2011 using a combination of new and reclaimed materials to create a “Modern Vintage style”. They named it The Vintage Round Top and developed an antiques and handmade home goods line sold on their website. They also own a thriving construction business in Houston, Tx called State Contractors, LLC. Both having extensive backgrounds in the hospitality and service industries, welcomed the opportunity to open their home for guests to enjoy their labor of love.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because we love the rolling hills, fresh air, and pastoral views in this small unique town. Only one and a half hours from Houston or Austin and two hours from San Antonio, the town of Round Top has art galleries, antique shops, wine bars, and cafes that rival the big cities. The internationally renowned Round Top Antique Fair is held twice a year in Spring and Fall. Small town parades and festivals are held in the town square and bring you back to a simpler time. Festival Hill and Shakespeare at Winedale provide first-class entertainment. Five + small Texas towns are all only 20 minutes away with two large boating lakes 20 - 45 minutes away.
