Medina Location

The house is lovely and well-situated in the Medina/Kasbah. It was a bit difficult for us to get our luggage to the house but, once settled in, we really enjoyed the location.

Charming House in the Medina

The house was beautiful in the style of a Riad. The furnishings were comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen if we wanted to cook meals as well as an optional cook if we wanted. David, our host was wonderful and easy to contact when we had trouble finding the house on arrival. The only downsides were no air conditioning units in the rooms which we really needed in the summer heat and it was noisy. We only had one window downstairs where we slept and when we opened it we could hear lots of street noise late at night. They were doing construction next door which added to the noise. Also, be prepared to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the kitchen if you are sleeping on the bottom floor.

Thanks for the good words about my house ! Regarding the downsides, it is true that we do not have aircon. That is the case for 99% of houses in the medina. Tangiers is a coastal city with winds and a fairly mild climate all year round.Some days were very hot this summer, but it is a rare event. You also mentionned that it can be noisy at night This is also true; locals stay out a lot in the evening in the summertime; which is also the peak period for weedings and other festivities Most tourists want to stay in the old town to share this unique and vibrant atmosphere. For those who want peace and quiet, aircon in the rooms, and a lift to move up and down the building, a good hotel outside the medina is probably a better option.

Accueillis par Fatima, excellente cuisinière et toujours présente si besoin est, notre séjour à Tanger, dans ce très beau Riad andalou marocain décoré avec goût et ses belles terrasses vue mer, à été merveilleux! Emplacement très bien placé dans la médina pour découvrir l’âme de Tanger. Belles plages à 30 minutes de la ville et nous conseillons vivement la visite de Chefchaouen!

"Perfection. First time in Tangier for our party of seven..."

Perfection. First time in Tangier for our party of seven and we could not have asked for anything more. The house is perfectly situated within easy walking distance to the Casbah, the markets, and other must-see sites, with beautiful views of the Strait of Gibraltar (and Spain on clear days!). It afforded both an exceptional amount of privacy and large communal spaces to eat and gather. Impeccably decorated with beautiful and thoughtful touches throughout, striking just the right balance of elegant but welcoming and comfortable. As if this weren't enough, the lovely and generous Asmae provided more delectable meals than any we had in restaurants on the rare occasions we ate dinner elsewhere. So grateful for her culinary prowess and kindness, as well as the warmth and hospitality of the host/ owner, David, who was so helpful throughout our stay.

Un dépaysement total dans cette superbe maison idéalement située dans la médina, au pied de Kasbha et à deux pas de tous les lieux incontournables de Tanger. Son toit Terrasse offre une vue époustouflante sur le port, la mer et l’Espagne et est idéal pour y diner, et s’y détendre paisiblement. Le cadre est authentique, typique et très convivial avec un grand soin apporté à la décoration et un parfait confort qui offre à chacun ses espaces. Grâce aux précieux conseils du propriétaire et à la jeune femme en charge de l'entretien et talentueuse cuisinière, qui nous a régalé de ses spécialités, nous nous sommes immédiatement immergés dans la vie et l'ambiance locale. Le charme opère et tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour vivre l’expérience tangéroise… Nous recommandons cette adresse qui allie authenticité, confort, convivialité et facilité.

Una casa con encanto, en el centro de Tánger

La casa es realmente impresionante, sin duda uno de los mejores sitios donde alojarse en Tánger. Dispone de 3 plantas más terraza y se encuentra bien situada, cerca de la Kasbah y los zocos. La decoración está muy cuidada y hace del lugar un sitio realmente acogedor. En nuestra visita, nos alojamos 8 personas sin ningún problema. Asma, la persona encargada de la casa, es una mujer encantadora. Nos preparó platos típicos de Marruecos, y quedamos muy contentos y agradecidos con ella. Sin duda, un sitio 100% recomendable.

Superlative house, elegant and characterful

This is an exceptional house: spacious, architecturally stunning and beautifully decorated. The kitchen and bathrooms are European standard, whilst the open fire and beautiful terrace provide perfect environments whatever the weather. We were delighted with the privacy afforded by the layout of the property- even with a large party it never felt crowded, and the Medina location could not be more charming or convenient. Mme Asma, the cook/housekeeper, was charming, obliging and prepared delicious, healthy, beautifully presented Moroccan food. As a frequent visitor to Tangier, this is by far the best property I have experienced.

"Nous avons loué 1 semain...

"Nous avons loué 1 semaine pendant les vacances de février. La maison est magnifique, très bien située, au coeur du plus beau quartier de la ville. Les chambres sont spacieuses, très confortables (literie nickel) et toute la maison est très bien décorée. Enfin la présence d''Asma, la personne qui s''occupe de la maison, nous a permis de découvrir les richesses du Maroc : la gentillesse de ses habitants, la cuisine (miam !!!), le henné, la médina... On reviendra peut être !!"

"La maison est située au centre de la Médina de Tanger, dans un quartier calme et proche des souks, bars et restaurants de la médina. Elle est dans un très bon état et très bien entretenue disposant de beaux meubles authentiques et de charmes. Asma, la femme qui s''occupe de la maison et de la cuisine est très discrète et aimable et fait des plats délicieux."
