Woodland Cottage is ready to welcome you for a relaxing or adventuresome vacation.
Capture the ambience of a bygone era and feel the warmth of a friendly community!
Tucked in against the National Forest and right off a paved road, this rustic yet comfy cottage makes a perfect scenic spot for a two-some or, bring the family and enjoy the many attractions the area offers.
We’re just five miles south of Mena. Whether you come for business, pleasure, or fun in the fresh mountain air, there’s plenty to keep everyone happy! Only 30 minutes away from the popular Wolfpen Gap ATV trails, via a beautiful county road access or Hwy. 375, and the CMA national headquarters is just a few miles away on Hwy. 71. Swimming, hiking, fishing, golf, antique shops, popular cycling routes, crystal mining and local events all to provide a variety of flavor in your vacation. Such as the Annual Lum & Abner Days Festival in June, the Fall Foliage Festival held in Janseen Park, in October, and the Ouachita Little Theatre productions on historic Main Street, held each month.
Queen Wilhelmina State Park & newly remodeled lodge with a gift shop & restaurant , setting atop Rich Mountain & nearly 3,000 ft. above sea level, offers nature trails, Wildlife Center, miniature golf & train rides, historical sights, & the Talimena Scenic Byway we’re sure you’ll want to experience again & again!

This 2 bedroom cottage has one bedroom for two, and 2nd bedroom has a queen & twin w/trundle, so, easily sleeps 6. Two full baths, one with a unique rock shower, fully-equipped kitchen with all appliances, towels & linens provided, & charcoal grill with smoker and outdoor table & chairs, along with spacious fire pit area makes being outdoors a pleasure!

We stayed at Jonathan & Chloe's cozy cottage in the woods. It was very quiet and peaceful which we needed! Very comfortable beds too, which is a plus! We enjoyed our stay!

Excellent get away

We enjoyed it. Not much more to be said. It was clean and nice, it was to hot for fires and cookouts but we did walk some after dark with a light and see wildlife. Highly recommend

Amazing little place in the middle of everything!

We made last minute plans to head up to the area and do some day hikes and explore the ATV trails. It was a perfect location to everything in the area. We were made to feel at home, being able to bring our dog and feel welcomed was so nice! We had a little hiccup with the water but Jonathan handled it immediately and we were not inconvenienced at all. We plane to go back again in the future!

Beautiful property and a cozy cabin with all amenities

We chose this property for its wooded setting and we were not disappointed! The owners, Johnathon and Chloe were so welcoming and nice. The cabin has separate bedroom areas and each one has its own AC/heating unit. There's even a roughed in trail up to the top of the mountain on the backside of the property. The firepit was stocked and ready. P.S. Watching the eclipse from this cabin was an amazing experience!!

Stress Buster

I felt the stress melt away as soon as we pulled into the driveway! Peaceful setting and simple, comfortable, clean accommodations, perfect for some family bonding time. Enjoyed exploring the property, taking walks on the quiet country road, and drives to scenic areas nearby.Great food nearby available for take out if you prefer not to cook. Many special touches made us feel right at home. Honestly did not want to leave!

Comfort in the mountains

The cottage is cute, quirky, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the water smells of sulfur. Our host kindly provided a gallon of bottled water, but I did have to get more. I did have to fill up the ice trays with bottled water. This part of Arkansas is lovely.

Wonderful, unique, comfortable cottage in perfect setting and location.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in Mena. The little cottage was clean, comfortable and contained everything we needed. We loved all the unique features that truly made the experience even more fun! The owners were wonderful hosts and made the check-in process super easy. They even provided helpful tips on fun places to visit and things to do while in Mena. We so enjoyed sitting outside chilling and listening to the birds in the forest behind the cottage. We also enjoyed hiking up the hill behind the house with our dog. We stayed for 5 days and hiked trails, rode UTV’s, Ziplined, and cooked and played games in the evenings. Very relaxing vacation. Thanks so much for hosting us. We’ll be back for sure!

Loved this house!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a small get away during our time off from covid-19. We took the Talimena Scenic Drive on our way in which was beautiful! We originally had planned on staying 2 nights but we enjoyed it so much we were happy it was available for a third night! It isnt far from stores and restaurant. We ordered food from the Branding Iron for dinner two of the nights. It already had a drive thru which was perfect for the current Corona situation. I absolutely LOVED this cottage! I would love to know the history of it. It is clearly an older property with a lot of original details which gives it so much character! There has been nice upgrades as well. Everyday I discovered something new! 2 bathrooms is a huge plus. Our bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning units kept the whole house a comfortable temperature. Outdoors on the property was fun to explore and it was neat to see a "mysterious" rock formation turn into a small pool and waterfall when it rained on our second day! If you have never experienced the country, a few things might be different for you, but I grew up in the country so it brought back a lot if childhood memories! The house had a lot of thoughtful touches and items you forgot you needed! I'm very glad they had wifi otherwise we would not have had cell service in this spot! If you like to drink, plan ahead! Although it was a beautiful drive...liquor store is about an hour away and beer store is about 25 to 30 minutes. Jonathan and Chloe were great with communications!! We would love to stay again!

Woodland Cottage was built in the 1950s by a colorful and somewhat eccentric lady and her husband. They had a real zest for life and were loaded with personality, laughter, warmth and practicality.... it is all reflected in the design layout and feel of this unique and quaint little cottage.
We feel you will just love a relaxing get away here...so book your stay... come on down, over or up ...... we'll be glad to have ya!
