"Les Mirabelles" in deep rural France -

In over eight years we have never had any problems with visitors using the stairs. The photos given for the gite clearly show the stairs. As the proprietor of the gite and 80 years old, I do not have a problem with the stairs!

Thank you for such wonderful comments, but it was also such a pleasure to have guests who were so friendly and wishing to enjoy all the lovely surroundings in this area of the Dordogne. This charming couple felt very much at ease in their holiday home and yes, indeed, when they left it felt like we were parting with friends we had known for years ! We sincerely hope they will return again one day as they were such great people.

It was such a pleasure to host this charming couple and I am very pleased that they appreciated the gite and everything provided, as well as the beautiful region of the Dordogne. I hope to have the pleasure of seeing them again one day.

Firstly, this gite is completely self contained. I shall respond in order of the negative points made. Most visitors appreciate being advised of all amenities provided and how the key/entry system works. However this visitor did not want to listen as he clearly thought he knew everything (including the light system)! The lights work extremely well but it is a two-way system which he did not wait to have explained (leaving to fetch his luggage, saying he knew all that!!) No previous complaints received regarding the bed but this man complained he had just been diagnosed with chronic arthiritis so he may need a special medical mattress to accommodate his specific needs. He is also a particularly well built man. The pool is surrounded by beautiful trees and also screened from owners property giving complete privacy and not overlooked by anyone or neighbours. The gite has its own patio area, again completely private so we don't understand his version of 'privacy'. Regarding WIFI being poor - this visitor says 'roaming' was excellent but then it was poor !! Fibre optics were recently provided so we don't understand. However, during their stay we did suffer a couple of very violent thunderstorms - sorry I cannot control the weather! MY COMPLAINT is that this couple left the bed sheets badly soiled by sun-oil - occupiers clearly not showering after sun bathing - and the shower works perfectly ! I wish this couple well in finding other accommodation more suitable to their needs!

Thank you for your very kind comments. It was a pleasure to meet such a charming couple. Due to railway repairs currently being undertaken, it was unfortunate that traffic was being diverted to our road, which was a little busier than usual ! The swimming pool is never used by the owner except when the guests are not on the premises (and then rarely!). Our aim is to be as discreet as possible when guests are present.

It was a great pleasure to host these charming guests who stayed for 3 weeks at "Les Mirabelles". They explored many of the beautiful villages and areas in this region and 'soaked up' the benefits of the swimming pool in the very hot weather ! They were exceptionally respectful of the gite and left it absolutely spotless. I do hope that I may have the pleasure of seeing them again next year.
