Chez Mamie has been in the family for generations. The holiday home accommodation offers a private heated saltwater swimming pool, hot tub, and garden with vineyard views, with a gate allowing you to walk in the vineyard. Only a short walk into the famous village with boutique-style cafe bar, restaurants, wine tasting and visit the famous Chateau de Monbazillac.
Just a 10-minute drive away is the medieval town of Bergerac, which has supermarkets, a fresh vegetable and meat market, a municipal swimming pool, a bowling alley, and karting.
Also in the village of Monbazillac is the Maison de Tourisme et du Vin, which offers information on what to do in the area, as well as tastings and wine for sale from many local producers. There is a beauty salon, hairdressers, and a marketplace where a summer night market is held each Sunday evening, with wine-tasting and music evenings.
Best of all a local bakery van delivers fresh bread and croissants to the door around 08:30 each morning (except Thursday and Sunday) an authentic taste of French life!
The property is suitable for up to 8 adults and up to 6 children, with a maximum of 10 guests in total, plus babies (18 months or younger).

Bedroom 2: Large bedroom, upper floor. A Spacious bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements 6 single beds 90x190cm each, making an ideal children's room but can also be used ideally just for 2 adults. TV for playing DVDs. Air-conditioning. En-suite shower room with washbasin and separate wc.
Air conditioning is installed only in the 2 bedrooms on the upper floor.
Bedroom 3: Double bedroom, ground floor. Beautiful double room 140x200cm with a beamed ceiling, kept cool by the thick stone walls in summer. Shared Jack and Jill shower room with a washbasin. Separate shared wc in the hallway next to these bedrooms.

There is 1 baby cot and a high chair. An additional cot and highchair can be requested at the time of booking. There are no stair gates.
Kitchen diner area: Large dining table with views onto the garden through large doors. Electric hob and oven with grill, Nespresso machine, Dishwasher, Microwave, Double sink, Fridge/freezer, Kettle, Toaster
Utility area: Laundry area with a washing machine, an iron/ironing board, and a washing line. Separate WC.
Lounge: Open-plan living area with a comfortable sofa and armchairs, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels available in English and French, a DVD player, and a wood burner for the cooler months.
Cleaning/towels/linen: Bed linen and bath towels are included in the price. A supply of linen and towels will be provided for stays of 2 weeks or more.
The garden: South-facing garden with a fabulous deck and a 6-person hot tub, with views over the local vines. Table Tennis and a children's swing set. Garden gate leading out into the vineyard.
The private heated alarmed pool: Private 10m x 4m heated saltwater pool surrounded by a sun terrace. The south-facing garden gives lots of sunshine throughout the day.
There is a significant first step into the pool, which measures 4m wide, extends 2.3m, and is stepped at 20 cm and 30 cm deep. There are further steps into the shallow end 40cm deep, 60 cm deep, 80 cm deep, 1m deep then the entire pool is 1.3m deep. An alarm secures the pool.

The village of Monbazillac has 2 restaurants. There is also a village cafe bar. The famous Chateau at Monbazillac is just 700 metres away and is well worth a visit to the ancient castle, followed by some wine tasting.
Situated in the Dordogne near the famous town of Bergerac in the region of Aquitaine, within the Bordeaux wine region.
Bordeaux city centre is 105km drive to the west and Bergerac is just 7km (4 miles) to the north, Saint Emilion 58km west, Perigueux 55km north.
This is the ideal base from which to explore South West France. Located in the Dordogne, it is considered one of the most picturesque areas of France. The gently rolling countryside is a pleasure to explore, with excellent roads winding their way through fields and vineyards. Perfect cycling country!
The local towns have a good selection of shops, including cafes, bars, restaurants and grocery stores. The nearest large supermarket is E.Leclerc 8km away.
Beach, Water park, and canoeing: Aquapark water park is only 8km (10 minutes' drive) from Bergerac.
Wine and Gastronomy: The Bordeaux wine region has 21 appellations. Visit some of the many local Caves and chateaux that offer free tastings and tours while you choose a bottle or two. Not to be missed is the world-famous St Emilion, just a 1-hour drive away. A designated World Heritage site and truly stunning. Explore characteristic narrow lanes lined with wine merchants, cafes, restaurants and interesting independent shops. A guided tour of the monolithic church is highly recommended.
Bergerac: The beautiful bastide town of Bergerac is well worth a visit. Set on the banks of the Dordogne river, there is plenty to see here, including markets and a museum, or take a boat trip on the river and watch the lovely scenery pass you by.
Bordeaux: This designated World Heritage Site is a must for all visitors. This cosmopolitan city offers a diverse range of attractions. The Golden Triangle has a fabulous range of shops for those shopaholics.
A wide variety of architectural forms, the backdrop for the street cafes, restaurants, bars, and not forgetting the superb Grand Theatre.
Golf: There are pay-and-play golf courses in the area, the best being the beautiful Château des Vigiers Golf and Country Club (22km). The chateau dates back to 1597 and is set on 450 acres of stunning countryside. Facilities also include a fine restaurant and a relaxing beauty spa.
Markets: Most villages and towns hold weekly markets full of fresh and interesting local produce. An ideal place to pick up your holiday mementoes and gifts. Full details of local markets are provided at the house.
Cycling: The countryside around our properties is perfect for cycling, whether it's just a gentle ride around to explore or if you are a keen cyclist, a long training ride on fantastic stretches of road to get the blood pumping whilst taking in the tremendous views. Cycle hire is available at your door.
Boat trips: Boat trips on the Dordogne River are available in Bergerac.
