As you step into this contemporary vacation home perched atop Cady mountain, you are drawn to the wall of windows and stunning forested ocean views encompassing Canada's Vancouver Island and Haro Strait ocean view. Step out to the wrap around decks. This newly custom built home is a warm and friendly environment and allows you to participate in all that nature has to offer. Orcas, deer, fox, eagle and a myriad of birds. Watch international shipping traffic, whale watching boats and sailboats. Track the maritime traffic with your laptop from any room in the house with high-speed Wi-Fi. Make good use of the telescope and binoculars! Cook your gourmet meals at home in the fully equipped kitchen.
The house is filled with light - windows surround the 'Great Room' = living and dining with kitchen bar seating separating the kitchen. Drift off to sleep in luxurious memory foam beds to the sight of stars overhead and ships passing in the night as you lift your head from bed.
If you're able to pull yourself away from the views and activites, the living room includes a 43" HD TV with Dish network programming. High-speed Wi-Fi internet access and free long-distance domestic calls.
San Juan Island is the best location in all of the Pacific Northwest for viewing the resident Orca pods. These magnificent animals provide exuberant displays as they feed on salmon, traveling back and forth in the waters surrounding San Juan Island. San Juan waters have been identified by Whale Museum biologists as a prime feeding area for the "J", "K", and "L" pods during the summer months.

A true gem on Cady mountain at the center of San Juan island. Every corner of the island is no farther than 20 minutes away, so you can conveniently adventure in a different direction every day, and then come home and enjoy the piece and beauty of the island right from the deck of the home with views of the forest and Haro straight with Canada on the horizon and watch it all dissolve into a starlit sky. This is a special place that I would recommend to anyone visiting the islands!

Beautiful property, conveniently located!

This is a gorgeous space that not only has stunning views, but is perfectly located in a private wooded location. Large kitchen and common space, comfortable beds, charm in all areas of the A-frame house. We loved our stay there and hope to come back soon!

Lovely Stay with my Family!

San Juan Islands

First time to the San Juan Islands and didn’t really know what to expect other than photos. Well the pictures do not do justice on how beautiful this place is on the side of a mountain. Location is perfect since it’s only 20 - 15 minutes away from almost everything on the island. It was a great family vacation.

San Juan getaway

This house is amazing, located atop Cady Mtn, with spectacular views of the surrounding forest, the water, and Victoria, BC! We spent so much time on the big deck, enjoying the view, and the stars are amazing at night as well. It’s just a 15 minute drive into Friday Harbor, and about the same to the other end of the island. We explored Engligh Camp, Roche Harbor, and found some nice hikes and beautiful beaches. What a great house, and fun vacation!

Great views of the forest and the water. Great house and facilities. Highly recommended. Only one thing the owner needs to do is not to expect the guests to wash the towels and bed linens after the stay. That should be included upfront in the cleaning fee Kapil

A cozy spot with grand vista views

Capron road is atop Cady Mountain. The house has sweeping views of the water and Vancouver Island. Perched on rolling green hills and rocky outcroppings, the home’s entrance opens on to floor to ceiling window views. The house is well appointed and modern. Heated floors in the main loft bedroom and a memory foam bed were welcomed after a long day of travel. Two bedrooms and a full bath on the main floor off the kitchen and living room were home to our twin teenagers. We spent our late afternoon and evenings watching the sunsets and lights from Vancouver island. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils for large or small gatherings. Any questions were quickly replied to by the host and a quick text and reply to let them know we had left for the ferry made leaving a breeze ( although we surely didn’t want to leave). This is the perfect house for a family reunion, or a romantic getaway for two.

NYE on San Juan Island

Great home a wee bit off the beaten path (which is exactly what we were looking for). Everything on San Juan Island is pretty close and we had a great time. We wanted a place with no fire works (for my dog). Dog friendly and we enjoyed our stay.

Great getaway with my family

Wanted to get away with my brother and parents for my mom's 80th birthday and Karen's place was great. San Juan Island is small enough to easily get to Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor and all the great parks but staying at Karen's place you feel like it's just you and nature when you're there. If I decide to stay on San Juan Island again with a larger group, I would definitely come back.
