A detached holiday hideaway for 2 with private 12m x 4m pool & stunning views.

Casa della Zia is situated on the edge of the tranquil hamlet of Limiti near to Palombaro and Casoli.
This is a one bedroomed villa with it's own private sun terrace overlooking the Maiella mountains and rolling countryside.
The 12m x 4m unheated swimming pool, is shared only with the owners, However we like to respect your privacy and will leave you undisturbed when you are poolside.
Casa della Zia is just the place for that relaxing getaway you have been looking forward to.
The property is suitable for all year round use. It has under floor heating and a wood burning stove for cozy evenings in after a days hiking, cycling, ski-ing or just enjoying the breathtaking autumn and winter scenery of Abruzzo.
Situated on the edge of the Maiella national park and 30 minutes from the Adriatic coast in one direction and the Maiella Mountains in the other, there are plenty of options to explore. It all depends what you want to do! Further information is available on arrival.
The property also has a safe, wi-fi, TV, Blu-ray DVD player, Bluetooth DAB CD Hi-fi, washing machine, Iron, and a hairdryer. Towels and bed linen are provided on a weekly basis.
The owners, Pete and Julie, live on site with their 2 dogs and speak English and Italian should you need their assistance.

We had an amazing 10 days at Pete and Jools property in the beautiful little hamlet of Limiti. The villa is ideal for a couple and Pete and Jools have thought of everything required to make your stay extremely comfortable. The view from the terrace is amazing and so peaceful. Although we only used the pool a couple of times it is beautifully kept and the flowers and plants surrounding it are lovely. Pete and Jools gave us good recommendations on where to visit and for restaurants and the highlight was a visit to The Home restaurant in Palombaro - definitely recommend. This area of Italy has everything, beautiful scenery from the mountains to the sea, lots of little villages to explore and we particularly enjoyed our trips to Scanno and Rosacarro. Thank you so much Pete and Jools we will return. Hope Max is on the mend.

Fabulous

What a gem! Beautiful setting, stunning scenery, Julie and Peter are so welcoming and ready to help with anything. Clean and comfortable villa and the pool is paradise surrounded by beautiful flowers/plants and looks over the mountains. Spent a week not doing much but there's plenty to do for those who keep busy. The best supermarket we found was Conad in Casoli. On the small side but has everything you could possibly need. We had a wonderful week in amazing Abruzzo.

We were over the moon with our find. Pete and Jools are fantastic hosts so friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble for them. Sent well detailed driving instructions. Perfect stay at great hosts!

We stayed four days at Casa Della Zia and we really enjoyed the cosy and clean villa. There is a fully equipped kitchen in which we could make some great Italian lunches and dinners to enjoy at our perfect private roof terrace with stunning views. The swimming pool is lovely and to be used privately as well. The hosts are lovely and extremely hospitable, they're really welcoming and make sure that everything you want or need is covered: they drove us to a lunch and a winetasting, that they arranged for us, because there was alcohol involved, and Julie also went to the pharmacy and hospital with us to help us there since we don't speak Italian. Such great helpfulness and so friendly, great people to be surrounded by and have .

Perfetto! Super holiday!

Jools and Pete are true super-hosts! Warm and welcoming; kind and genuine. Casa del Zia is as described and the photos a true reflection. This lovely couple go above and beyond- they met us at the airport and we followed them to the villa in our hire car. They purchased an air conditioning unit to make us more comfortable in the heatwave. They are knowledgeable about the local area and have many recommendations to make..restaurants, beaches, gelaterias and activities. We have numerous holiday highlights, but one was going for Sunday lunch at the local agriturismo. A perfect way to immerse in Italian family culture. The facilities at the villa are superb and the pool is a real luxury treat! Thank you to you bothJools and Pete.

Great hideaway for a couple

There are not many properties with a pool that are perfect for couples. Many times you need to either share with other properties or with another house. Here Pete and Jools give you free run of the pool when you are staying with them. They are the perfect hosts and will provide help if needed or equally leave you to yourselves if that is what you want. The accommodation is great with a spacious upstairs living area/kitchen with large balcony (fantastic views). Downstairs is a large bathroom, utility area and good size bedroom. Only downside is no aircon but there are shutters on windows, and fans to help keep the rooms cool. Pete and Jools sorted out our hire car issue for us (flat tyre) with the help of the local garage which is an indication of how generous they are with their assistance. The dogs and cats are lovely and no trouble if anyone is wary of animals, they are very gentle and friendly. Thank you Pete and Jools for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Wedding week stay

Pete and jools are honestly two of the nicest people we have ever met. Nothing was too much for them and they always went the extra mile. We stayed here for 1 week for our wedding in Pennapiedimonte - we arrived to a care package of items for dinner that night due to the time we arrived. They also placed items in the fridge so we were able to have a cold drink / tea ect. On arrival they showed us around, gave us all the information needed for the stay and were so lovely to us from the beginning. As it was for our wedding we had family / friends staying local and they allowed them to come up and spend time with us at the pool and in the house itself. They welcomed my family in on the day of my wedding and even helped the car ect reach us. They offered for me to use their home itself for my getting ready photos and I was so thankful to them for everything they done for us whilst we stayed here. Honestly the best place I have ever stayed. They even gave us a beautiful wedding gift / card and provided a drink for me and my mother / bridesmaids on my wedding day! It’s definitely a home away from home. I will be recommending this gem to everyone I know and even those I don’t. Thank you so much for making a special week even more special. Your home will forever have a place in our hearts. We really are gutted to be leaving. Thank you so much again .

Highly, highly recommended

Casa della Zia was the perfect holiday rental for us. Perched on a hill-side, gazing out on the green valley below, the lovely neighbouring hill-top towns of Palombaro and Casoli, and the beginnings of the mountainous Maiella National Park, we were transfixed. We breakfasted on the sun-drenched upper patio, within easy reach of the well-equipped kitchen. We swam in the wonderful pool, and we lazed on the loungers in the shade beside the pool. We slept deeply in the cool lower bedroom, and showered in the lovely bathroom. We have been fortunate to travel to many parts of the world and stay in all sorts of accommodation, and Casa della Zia was right up there with the best of them. Our hosts, Pete and Jools, were great – on hand if needed, but not impinging at all on our privacy. They were very helpful when we were trying to negotiate through our first week’s isolation and through the bureaucracy of obtaining the necessary antigen testing. Jools’s conversational Italian was particularly impressive! Many thanks to you both. We travelled widely through Abruzzo, visiting L’Aquila, Sulmona, Castel del Monte, Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Guardiagrele, Casoli, Palombaro, Pescara, Ortona, San Vito Chietino, the beach at Le Morge, and Vasto, and seeing some astonishingly beautiful scenery. The Abruzzese were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and very tolerant of our poor grasp of the Italian language. Highly, highly recommended.

Unglaublich freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Hervorragender Blick auf die Abruzzen. Sehr tierfreundliche Besitzer. Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus zur Selbstnutzung. Betten klasse - wir haben geschlafen wie Babys. Umfeld sehr ruhig und bestens zur Erholung geeignet. Die Küchenausstattung könnte etwas üppiger sein. Ca. 45 Min.zu einem tollen Hundestrand in Vasto. Das Umfeld bietet jede Menge Möglichkeiten zum Besichtigen und Wandern. Alles in allem eine wirkliche Oase und sehr zu empfehlen.

Wat een prachtige overnachtingsplek bij heel fijne mensen. Pete en Jools ontvingen ons hartelijk, we voelden ons heel welkom. Ze waren steeds bereikbaar voor suggesties en advies, maar respecteerden zeker ook onze privacy. Dankzij hun hulp was een probleem met onze auto snel verholpen! Zo'n vriendelijke en behulpzame mensen, bij wie we graag terugkeren. Dit verblijf biedt al het nodige comfort en het uitzicht, zowel vanaf het terras als van bij het zwembad, is fantastisch. Hier geniet je ten volle van rust en ontspanning, maar ook van heel wat mogelijkheden om erop uit te trekken. Superschattige honden en katten :) Kortom een zeer aangenaam verblijf in een prachtig landschap, een aanrader!

Beste Ferienwohnung überhaupt

Hier hat einfach alles gepasst! Dies ist die bestausgestattete und schönste Ferienwohnung, die wir je hatten. Alles ist wunderschön aufeinander abgestimmt eingerichtet und picobello sauber. Bei der Ausstattung wurde wirklich an jedes Detail gedacht, zahlreiche Dinge, die wir sonst nicht oder nur zum Teil vorfanden, sind da, angefangen von vielen Ablageflächen und Haken im geräumigen Bad, vielen Kleiderbügeln, Abstellkammer mit Wäschekorb, Wäscheständer, Waschmaschine, Safe,Kühltasche, Küchenausstattung genau passend für 2, und, und, und...Und dann natürlich der herrliche Pool, den wir immer für uns hatten und die tolle Terasse für Frühstück und Abendessen mit atemberaubender Aussicht. Das Ganze toppen aber die beiden Gastgeber Jools und und Pete, die uns mit ihrer warmherzigen und hilfsbereiten Art sofort willkommen hießen. Das Versorgungspaket für den ersten Abend und Frühstück war reich ausgestattet und erlaubte ein erholsames Ankommen, der lokale Laden in der Nähe bietet dann alles weitere Nötige. Privatspäre wird groß geschrieben, trotzdem ist jederzeit Hilfe da, wenn man etwas braucht (wie wir z.B. bei einer Reifenpanne).Man muss sich auf etwas kurvige Autofahrerei einstellen, aber das liegt nicht an der Wohnung sondern der ganzen Gegend. Dafür ist man hier zum Glück noch abseits vom Massentourismus und hat herrliche Natur, Berge und Meer in gut erreichbarer Nähe.Besser geht's einfach nicht.Vielen Dank nochmals an Jools und Pete für zwei unvergessliche Wochen

Ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt

Wir waren 2 Wochen hier und haben das geschmackvoll eingerichtete Haus und den tollen Pool genossen! Der Empfang im Casa della Zia war herzlich und alles sehr gut vorbereitet! Viele der guten Tipps konnten wir umsetzen und die Abruzzen mit den freundlichen Menschen und dem sehr guten Essen in verschiedenen Restaurants erleben. Vielen Dank für die tollen Tage!!

Eine sehr schöne Zeit in Limiti

Pete und Julie sind als Gastgeber einmalig. Sie sind sehr bemüht es ihren Gästen so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Die Wohnung ist sehr geschmackvoll und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Es war alles da, was wir brauchten. 11 von 10 Punkten!

Een paradijs in niemandsland.

Alles was perfect. Zeer fijne gastheer en -vrouw die voor alles klaar staan, zelfs om voor vervoer te zorgen naar Agriturismo en wijngaard. Volledige nette uitgeruste accommodatie. Prachtige vieuw op het omringde landschap, zeker vanuit het zwembad. Zeer ruim privé zwembad. Aangenaam welkomspakket om de eerste avond en ochtend door te komen. Vriendelijke huisdieren. Kortom een dikke 10.

Im Paradies angekommen

Es war einfach traumhaft, die Wohnung, die Aussicht, die Ruhe, der Pool, die Gastgeber….Die Casa della Zia liegt sehr abgelegen, aber es gibt einen kleinen Lebensmittelladen in der Nähe mit allem, was man braucht. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen, vor allen Dingen die Abende auf der Terrasse. Wenn wir nochmal in die Abruzzen fahren, dann auf jeden Fall zu Peter und Julie.

Wunderbare Tage in einer traumhaften Umgebung!

Es gibt keine aufmerksameren Gastgeber! Auch sie machten den Aufenthalt zu einem einmaligen Erlebnis in einer weitgehend ursprünglichen Umgebung! Ruhe und Entspannung sind garantiert, im Pool zu schwimmen mit einem atemberaubenden Panorama ist ein unvergesslicher Eindruck.

Abruzja - inne Włochy

Pierwszy raz pojechalismy na wakacje do Abruzji. Nie widzieliśmy czego możemy się spodziewać. Po zjechaniu z autostrady do celu jest jeszcze ok 1 godzina drogi, z czego ostatnie 15 km zajmuje ok 30 minut. To kręta, malownicza droga. Po przyjechaniu na miejsce masz przed sobą oszałamiajacy widok. Żadne zdjęcia tego nie pokarzą. Można go jeść łyżkami. Dla mnie to bez wątpienia największa zaleta tej lokalizacji. Drugim bezspornym atutem jest basen. Jest duży, do prywatnego użytku i oczywiście z pieknym widokiem. Na koniec gospodarze, "uciekinierzy" z Anglii. To wspaniali ludzie, niezwykle pomocni i życzliwi. Abruzja to idealne miejsce dla osób, którzy nie lubia tłumu turystów i chcą posmakować prawdziwych Włoch. Jedyna niedogodnością był brak klimatyzacji (oczywiście wiedziałem, że dom jej nie ma). Jednak trafiliśmy na falę upałów 37-40 C i przy takiej temperaturze zamykanie okiennic w dzień czy uzywanie wentylatorów nie było wystarczające. Gdy tylko temperatura spadła było już świetnie. Zachecam do odwiedzenia domu Peter i Julie. Jednocześnie dziekuję im i pozdrawiam

Einfach nur "fantastisch"

Wir hatten im Casa della Zia einen wundervollen Urlaub. Wir wurden von Julie und Peter herzlich begrüßt, das Haus hat alles was man braucht und sogar noch viel mehr. Die Lage ist für einen entspannten Urlaub perfekt, es liegt sehr ruhig, die Aussicht ist atemberaubend, der Pool sehr gepflegt und erfrischend! Julie und Pete sind die perfekten Gastgeber, haben für uns Tische in Restaurants reserviert und uns sogar gefahren damit wir nicht nur das Essen sondern auch den Wein genießen konnten. Man kann sie wirklich alles fragen, sie machen alles damit man sich wohl fühlt. In 10 Minuten zu Fuss ist man in einem kleinen Laden bei Familie De Vitis der wirklich alles für den täglichen Bedarf hat. Es ist auch eine kleine Bar dabei - dort haben wir jeden Morgen unsere Cappuccini und Cornetti genossen. Die Besitzer und auch die Dorfbewohner sind sehr nett und gastfreundlich. Der Urlaub war fantastisch und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Die Wohnung/das Ferienhaus ist sehr gemütlich, gepflegt und komplett ausgestattet - es fehlt wirklich an nichts. Haus, Garten und Poolanlage laden zu einem entspannten Aufenthalt ein. Julie und Pete sind hervorragende Gastgeber, offen, freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Sie haben unseren Aufenthalt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht. Die Umgebung ist ländlich und weitläufig. Der nächste Laden/ kleiner Supermarkt mit Bar und Tankstelle ist zu Fuß in 15 Minuten, mit dem Auto in 3 Minuten zu erreichen. Andere Ortschaften mit weiteren Einkaufsmöglichkeit sind zwischen 10 und 15 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Zur Adria fährt man ca. 30 - 40 Minuten.

We fell in love with Abruzzo on our first ever visit and our dream was to live here some day. Life made us reflect on it's uncertainty and we decided to follow our dream of living here sooner rather than later. Providence enabled us to do this in 2014. Julie is an early retiree from the NHS and Pete used to be a senior manager in the Insurance sector. We have 2 friendly dogs who love having visitors - Just don't let them con you into thinking they need feeding every time they see you!

Why they chose this property

We wanted somewhere we could make our own and which would provide us with our home plus a holiday property. In selecting the property we asked ourselves what we would want a holiday villa to be. The abandoned villa that would be totally renovated to become Casa della Zia ticked all the boxes and more.
We both loved the location - the views are stunning and the community is warm and welcoming.
As a towny Jools can't get over the variety of the wildlife she has seen just in our olive grove - wild boar, badgers, foxes, deer, a little owl and a Kite (the avian variety that is!).

What makes this property unique

Abruzzo is something of an undiscovered gem.
The people here are strong and kind and welcomed us unconditionally. The sense of community is fantastic and has reminded us what we had lost back in the UK.
The fact that we are 40 mins away from the Mountain top and ski resorts in one direction and 30 minutes from the sea in the other direction offers so many possibilities of things to do with your day. However it is very tempting just to relax and enjoy the immediate area.
The fabulous weather, food and wine was another reason to come!
