Villa Eva is located at the fishing village of Gournes, between Heraklion and Hersonissos, 17 kilometers from Heraklion airport, 50 meters from the sandy beach and next to the Crete Aquarium, in a very quite area, ideal for families or couples who wants to spent their holidays by the sea, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living/dining room, kitchen, BBQ, wooden oven, veranda, 200m a big common garden. Air-condition is available in all rooms free of charge. A beautiful fire place will keep you warm at winter nights. Can accomodate up to 8 persons. Terrace and garden overlooking the sea. Private parking space. Situated only 500m from the high way and yet, next to the beach. Ideal for families with children, or guests who want to enjoy their holidays by the sea.. Easy access to high way, close to amenities.The location of the villa is ideal for exploring Crete, or visiting Greek islands like Santorini. Local cuisine,with different dishes every day. Super market nearby. Close to antiquities. Water park with many different slides is 5 Kms away, ideal days out with children. Crete Aquarium, one of the biggest building complexes in the Mediterranean, is 200 meters away for those who adore marine world and want to explore more than 2500 individuals of fish and invertebrates. Bike or car rental companies are also close by.
On the ground floor of the villa is the living room, dining room, dishmachine,kitchen and the bathroom. A wooden stairs to the first floor with 3 bedrooms, 2 of them with sea view veranda, with dining table and chairs and bathroom/shower.
We are living next to the villa and we will be happy to assist and inform you for everything.

Less than a block from the beach. Very quiet neighborhood with good beachfront restaurants. The host is so sweet, inexplicably met us at 6:30am just to see us off when we would have happily left the keys and let the poor man sleep in. They provided some coffee, tea, juice and raki. Really lovely little spot to relax.

The house is beautiful and the host and hostess were friendly and helpful. We had difficulty with locating the property because of my gps not functioning properly. Eva was so patient and ending up sending George to meet us. The balcony where we relaxed in the mornings and evenings was lovely as well was the garden. Wine, juice, ouzo, and raki made for a welcome arrival. Beach and good restaurants were nearby. Paper products were provided but you may need to bring extra. Please note that

Great place for a week of summer

Very well placed, well equipped and cozy house with all you need. Friendly owners. Close to many beaches and a short drive away from towns with cafes and restaurants. Small issue is that it is on the corridor for planes landing in Heraklion so you can hear them.

The property was very clean. The listing is misleading about the distance to the beach, it is not beach side as represented in the listing. There are no beach supplies or bathroom amenities provided. We had requested more toilet paper but never heard back from the host.On a positive note when the washing machine broke the host took our laundry and cleaned it for us.

Superb house in a great location

We spent a wonderful week in this house. It is not too far from Heraklion but the neighborhood is quiet and there is a lovely little beach just 50 meters away. The hosts were delightful and very responsive. We highly recommend this property!

Nice contact to Crete

The hosts welcomed us with local delicacies (food and drink). They were extremely reactive and helpful when we encountered a small problem during our stay.The house is located in a quiet area only 15’ from the airport and close to all comodities. Although it is at the vertical of the trajectory of planes landing in Heraklion, this was not disturbing. The home is well equipped with a lovely front garden and a very nice terrace upstairs.

My big fat greek vacation on Crete

We were on vacation in three generations. Villa Eva is a beautiful place for holiday in big family. The terrace and the balcony offers enough opportunies for relaxing, dinner, playing games and much more. It was great to make breakfast outside every morning. Position of the ville is very good for tapsing along the coast, swimming on the beach or near to Taverna and the Cretaquarium. Other attractions as Knossos, Spinalonga and the Lasithi plateau can be reach easily from the villa by car. Vacations were most beautiful and we will remember long ago. Efharisto para Poli!

I would give more stars if I could. Property owners were amazing. Even took us to the grocery store to stock up. Baked us treats and we had welcome wine and local raki. We had so much fun. Villa Eva was perfect for us!

Quiet seaside home

We chose the area for the proximity to the ocean and convenience to attractions. It was perfect for short drives to multiple attractions. Home offers every convenience and the neighborhood in the off season was pin drop quiet - The beachside restaurants were closed for season so couldn’t walk to restaurants in off season but they are just a short 5-20 min drive away . It was great stay

It was a great stay. The property is right by the beach the house is very cute and has lots of space. We were greeted with some wine and raki in the fridge and some fruit. The property has everything you need to cook. I would say, a few minor things- the beds are extremely hard, so uncomfortable. I had to sleep downstairs on the couch because I couldn’t do another night in the bed. Mattress pads would be extremely beneficial so you’re not sleeping on a rock. I was surprised to not have extra toilet paper and paper towels. I feel this is something that should be provided. We did have to go out and get more. The pictures can be a bit deceiving since it’s not right on the beach. It’s down a side street. It was only a 3-5 min walk but it seemed at first booking it was right on the beach. The check in was very easy and everything otherwise was great. A very quiet area but able to walk to some restaurants and shops.

Crete stay

Pros: nice space; room darkening shutters that also kept the noise out; each room had its own air conditioning; nice deck and patio; close to the sea; owner provided a bottle of wine, some fruit, a cake roll, a couple bottles of water, and raki. Cons: each bathroom had only a half a roll of toilet paper and we were there 4 nights. A spare roll for each bathroom was requested, but owner stated that it was not in the house rules to provide that. He did say he would bring one over that evening, but he did not. (I know he wasn’t feeling well while we were there) We requested a trash bag so we could empty our kitchen garbage. Request was denied. Could be better: there was no plastic wrap, foil, or baggies. If you plan to cook and store leftovers bringing some ziplocks would be useful. Coffee, sugar, and salt were provided, but no additional spices or cooking oil. I know some VRBO’s don’t stock many of these items and others do. I tend to be more satisfied for the places that do have the extras. I think it’s good to know ahead of time. There were some beach chairs in the back of the house that we didn’t see until the last day as it wasn’t pointed out on check-in. Shower heads were hand held, which was inconvenient, but doable.

Das Haus an sich ist sehr schön und geräumig mit einer Terrasse an einem kleinen Garten. Es wirkt wie eine kleine Oase. Mit den 3 Schlafzimmern ist Platz für 6 Personen. Mehr Personen fände ich nicht angebracht. Der Vermieter hat uns sehr nett empfangen. Die Lage des Hauses ist gut für Erkundungen im östlichen Teil der Insel. Ein Auto wird benötigt, um beweglich zu sein. Die Umgebung des Hauses, naja. Man hat vom oberen Balkon aus teilweise Meerblick. Den "Strand" kann man nicht als Strand bezeichnen, um mal ins Wasser zu springen, ist es vielleicht okay. Nicht, um am Strand zu liegen. Das Gebiet an sich sieht aus wie in der Erschließung, wahrscheinlich ist das seit Jahren der Stand. Die Möblierung des Hauses ist alles ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber akzeptabel. Leider fehlt ausgerechnet im Haupt- Schlafzimmer ein Insektenschutz. Auch im rückwärtigen Schlafraum. Der Fluglärm ist vorhanden, aber durchaus ertragbar. Es tut mir leid, dass ich die bisher tollen Bewertungen so nicht bestätigen kann.

Schönes Haus am Meer

Das Haus ist sehr groß und sauber gehalten. Die Besitzer sehr nett und freundlich. Man könnte jederzeit sich an die wenden. Das Meer ist keine 5 Minuten entfernt. Wasser sauber und durchsichtig. Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten waren etwas weit entfernt aber zu Fuß trotzdem gut erreichbar. Das Haus wurden wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Top.

What an amazing property and overall experience!

What an amazing property and overall experience. Located just outside Heraklion, close enough to ancient and modern cites but outside of the city, near the sea is ideal. Someone wrote that the airplanes bothered them, I don’t know what they were talking about, the planes stopped at @11pm and were not a problem for us. Three couples stayed there and there was plenty of room and amenities for all. A great garden for our breakfast, a nice balcony to relax in the evening. The house is modern with some nice traditional-looking furniture. But the property’s great advantage is the owner, George. He treated us with local drinks (raki and rakomelo) fruits sweets etc. he also gave us three superb recommendations for dinners. One taverna specializing in seafood and one in grilled meats. Both were more than what we expected. Fresh delicious food and reasonably priced (both owners were great as well). He also suggested a pricier seaside seafood restaurant to celebrate my birthday. This was also a great choice. If you are a party of six looking for accommodations in the area this is your place!

Wir sind als Paar 79 u.74 Jahre sehr gut empfangen worden und Gregor ist mit uns erst einmal einkaufen gefahren es ist alles auch zu Fuss erreichbar Tavernen und Minimarkt Bäckerei wir haben uns für 5 Tage ein Auto gemietet direkt nah ch beim Haus haben aber gemerkt dass es bessere Anbieter gibt und günstig ere .Das Haus ist einfach zu der Nähe zum Strand optimal allerdings durch die Nähe zum Flughafen auch mit Fluglärm aber man gewöhnt sich daran U

Lovely property very close to a good beach

The property was exactly as described and the photographs truly reflected the property and garden. The owners were exceptional. Eva and Georgio went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable and trouble free. On arrival we were met and a lovely lunch was waiting for us along with many other food and drink treats. Georgio then offered to take us in his car to show us the local area, where the supermarkets and restaurants were and which roads to take. It saved us a lot of hassle in trying to find your own way around the small narrow roads. The beach is only a short walk - less than 5 minutes and there are lovely sun beds to hire for not a lot of money. The beach is a lovely clean sandy beach and really good for swimming. We ate out a lot at the next village along the coast - Kota Gouves which is a lot larger than Gournes - it has lots of really good restaurants and has a good atmosphere and buzz about it. Would thoroughly recommend a holiday here.

Wonderful Villa...

Our family of four just returned from a wonderful five-day vacation at Casa Eva. The Villa is exactly as pictured -- spacious, tastefully, lovingly furnished, and very clean and comfortable. It features a lovely, well-tended garden with a variety of flowers. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Eva and George with a home-cooked breakfast, fruit and bottles of wine and Cretan raki. All the basics were supplied. George was so kind that he even took us for a drive around the area to familiarize us while offering tips on restaurants, grocery stores and attractions. He was available to answer all our questions. Casa Eva is located in a quiet area next to a family beach. The quiet was interrupted only by birds and cicadas and an occasional airplane (mostly heard while at the beach, but hardly noticeable while inside). Crete is a beautiful place -- we drove around quite a bit to Knossos, Heraklion and Rethymnon. We look forward to coming back to Crete and Villa Eva.
