Casa Mocho is a charming and spacious private villa situated in the sought-after area of Caliças, just 2 km from the beautiful Meia Praia beach and approximately 2 km from Lagos Marina. Surrounded by mature gardens, a private heated pool *(pool heating is an extra cost) and enjoying stunning countryside views towards the Monchique Mountains, the villa offers a peaceful and private setting—ideal for a relaxing holiday in the Algarve.

With three bedrooms, three bathrooms and generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, Casa Mocho comfortably accommodates families and groups looking to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the sunshine. the villa is fully air-conditioned.

Outdoor Space & Swimming Pool

The villa benefits from a large private driveway with ample parking for several cars. The property is fully enclosed, with secure gates providing additional peace of mind for families with young children.

At the rear of the villa is an enclosed patio with a gas barbecue and sink, making it an excellent spot for preparing and enjoying meals outdoors.

The spacious, secluded pool terrace is accessed directly from the lounge and provides a wonderful setting for al fresco dining and relaxing in the sunshine. The private kidney-shaped swimming pool measures approximately 5m x 10m and features Roman steps. * Pool heating is available at an additional cost, please ask for prices.

The pool area is furnished with an outdoor dining table and chairs, as well as six sun loungers, providing plenty of space for everyone to relax.

Stairs from the pool terrace lead to the villa's roof terrace, where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views across the surrounding valley towards the Monchique Mountains. It is the perfect spot to unwind with a drink and watch the sun go down.

The mature gardens surrounding the villa provide additional space to explore and enjoy, particularly for children when they need a break from the pool.

Inside the Villa

Casa Mocho features a spacious open-plan living and dining area, complemented by a fully equipped kitchen.

The kitchen includes granite worktops and splashbacks, a breakfast bar, cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher and a large integrated fridge/freezer. A separate utility room contains a washing machine and a second fridge/freezer, ideal for keeping drinks chilled.

The open-plan dining area has a dining table with seating for six, while the comfortable lounge features a sofa and two retro-style armchairs. Entertainment includes a TV with UK channels, including BBC and ITV, as well as Netflix. High-speed Wi-Fi is also available throughout the villa.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The villa has three comfortable bedrooms:

Master bedroom: Double bed with a spacious en-suite bathroom featuring a shower cubicle, full-size bath, toilet, basin and bidet.
Bedroom 2: Double bed.
Bedroom 3: Twin beds.

The remaining two bedrooms are served by two further bathrooms. One has a shower, toilet, basin and bidet, while the larger family bathroom also benefits from a full-size bath.

Air conditioning is provided in all bedrooms, as well as the lounge and dining area, offering cooling during the warmer summer months and heating when required in the cooler seasons.

Location

Casa Mocho is ideally positioned for exploring Lagos and the surrounding Algarve. Lagos Marina, with its selection of bars and restaurants, is approximately 2 km away and can be reached on foot via the footbridge into Lagos town.

The beautiful Meia Praia beach is also approximately 2 km from the villa and offers a wide range of facilities, including water sports and other sporting activities, as well as beach bars and restaurants.

A car is recommended for guests staying at Casa Mocho, as the lane from the marina does not have pavements and walking access can therefore be difficult.

Great place for a chill break in Lagos!

We had a lovely relaxing stay; really enjoyed both pool and the roof terrace. The villa was really well appointed. The aircon was super too as it got very warm out.

Wonderful relaxing holiday

We had a great time. The villa was super and we had all the support we needed during our stay. Lagos is one of our favourite places to stay and it did not disappoint despite the extra restrictions with Covid. We feel very lucky to have been able to get away to such a lovely place.

Swimming pool

Very nice house and great swimming pool. Quiet area and definitely need a car to get around. House was clean and as per pictures and description. Had issue with front gate and warm water but the house managers sorted it out to the best of their abilities in very short time.

This property is in a terrible state of repair. Does not look like the photos. Outside areas were full of tab ends. Really run down. We were so upset and could not stay in the property. We were left homeless in Portugal and spent 2 days sleeping in the hire car until VRBO refunded us in full. Property owners (agent) couldn't care less!

We’re genuinely sorry to read your review, and we’d like the opportunity to respond, as we feel some of your comments were a little unfair. Photos are also taken on a very dull day making everything so much worse. First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies for the condition of the roof terrace on your arrival. It’s true that our cleaning team missed this area, and the outdoor space was not up to the standard we expect. Since your feedback, we’ve addressed this issue thoroughly: all rubbish has been removed, the area has been cleaned properly, and the plant pots have been replanted with fresh succulents to enhance the overall look and feel. For future guests the sunbeds have been replaced and the photos of the old stacked ones were in an area at the back of the villa not used by guests. That said, we could have resolved this during your stay had you allowed us the opportunity. Unfortunately, you were adamant about not remaining in the villa from the moment you arrived, and we respected that decision. It's also worth noting that the interior of the villa was clean and tidy, aside from a few misplaced clothes hangers. The issues you raised were limited to the exterior, and we would have been happy to correct them promptly. This villa has been in high demand over the summer, and as with any well-used property, occasional wear and tear can occur. We do our best to address these things immediately when brought to our attention. Importantly, you were offered a full refund. However, as your booking was made through a third-party platform, the process needed to go through them — something we explained clearly. We also offered alternative accommodation options, and there were many available in Lagos at the time through various platforms. so unsure why you were left homeless. We always strive to provide a great experience for our guests and are very sorry that your stay did not meet expectations. Your feedback has helped us improve, and we hope future guests will benefit from the steps we’ve taken.

Spacious property with all the facilities we needed during the holidays. Most of the sanitary facilities have been renovated and everything works without any problems. Outdoor furniture by the pool, worn due to the weather. High level of privacy, which comes at a price due to a demanding access road. Central and close to the sea, Lagos, golf courses, motorways/expressways and shopping. Uncomplicated, good administration and support from the agency. Own car required, access narrow and confusing. For us, a perfect and lovely stay and recommended without any restrictions.

Lagos détente

Super maison, on a passé de très bon moments en famille. l’emplacement est parfait au calme mais non loin de toute commodité. Juste un petit bémol sur l’ouverture des portails autour de la piscine, une douche en extérieur aurait été un plus, Et certains équipements en mauvais état (parasol inutilisable, ampoule lampe extérieure grillée )

Magnifique séjour dans cette belle villa

Magnifique villa pleine de charme situé à l'écart du centre de Lagos, dans un joli quartier résidentiel. A 10min du centre, de la Marina et de la plage de Lagos. La maison est propre, fonctionnelle, spacieuse et la piscine est vraiment très agréable ! Le contact avec l'agence de location est rapide et efficace. Je recommande vivement cette location !

Belle villa

Nous avons passés de belles journées dans la villa,malgré les désagréments causés par le manque d'eau chaude et les remontées d'égouts. Les problèmes ont été règlés dans les deux jours . La piscine est très belle . Très content de notre séjour au Portugal

Das Bild in der Anzeige täuscht über den Zustand des Hauses und der Ausstattung und dem Zustand der Ausstattung bzw fehlende Ausstattung. Wir würden das Haus nicht mehr mieten und raten Ineressenten davon ab . Die Instandhaltung des Hauses sowie des Grundstückes entsprechen einer Müllablage und Verwilderung ohne regelmässige Pflege - das Haus musste mit Aufforderung in vielen Dingen in Stand gebracht werden. Ein Claim folgt . Toiletten und Bäder mit nicht funktionierenden Warmwasser , Toiletten die nicht richtig spülen. Sehr enttäuschend

Villa in a good location, fantastic pool but in serious need of some TLC.

The process of renting was straightforward, the communication with the company straightforward. The Villa is in serious need of some TLC, the listing pictures are not a true reflection of the condition of the villa. We had to pay 180 euros for the pool to be heated, ironically leading to it being warmer than the water in the actual villa. Whilst the handyman tried his best to resolve the issue it led to either no hot water or a level that would scold someone, rendering the showers unsafe for the children to use. There were mould spores in both of the double rooms, the patio areas were dirty and not suitable for walking around barefoot. The paintwork on the exterior of the villa is grubby, with visible signs of damp. In the welcome booklet it explained about a maid service, including a linen change, this did not happen. The villa has so much potential and the layout is great, the pool was fantastic. Unfortunately the villa is not in the condition it is advertised in, we have pictures should you wish to see them.

For the benefit of future guests please see our below explanation; Unfortunately your stay was taken during a wet and damp period, this may have made things look worse than they were, the water is functioning fine in the house there are mixer taps to control the hot or cold temperature of the water. Your stay was only for one week and a linen change is only provided in a stay over a week, the house is self catering and there is a washing machine if needed. The house has been fully painted inside and out over the spring and is ready for 2023 occupation. Again we are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, this is an older villa but its is clean and tidy and well kept.

Amazing getaway

Wonderful location away from the busy tourist areas. A car is essential for getting around. Villa was well equipped and the children loved the pool. We had to book an extra day due to flight cancellations and the property manager was very helpful even sorting our car hire for the extra day too.

A secluded villa close to the marina

It was a nice villa, with a good pool in a quiet location. The furniture is a little dated, but the facilities were good and it has air conditioning. A car is essential as the surrounding roads are not safe to walk on, but it was still only 5 minutes drive from the marina. Vicky from the property mgmt company was very helpful.

Fast perfekt !

Ein tolles ruhiges Haus in perfekter Lage. Nur der Wasserdruck in den Duschen ist eine wirkliche Katastrophe 🤷🏻‍♀️ Und bei drei Bädern sollte es auch möglich sein das jeder warmes Wasser zum duschen hat. Hier leider nicht so. Also Menschen mit wenig und kurzen Haaren sind hier super aufgehoben . Aber Menschen mit viel und dann auch langen Haaren sollten sehr viel Zeit in der Dusche einplanen . Das ist aber auch das einzige Manko Zeit . Ansonsten eine tolle Unterkunft !
