Welcome to WineDown, our home away from home in Gulf Shores. Our home is a 4 bedroom 3 bath lower unit retreat is just steps away from the beautiful sugar white sand and clear, calm water of the Gulf of Mexico. Located in the West Beach area, we are in a quiet part of town but just a short 4-5 minute drive from the Hangout and all Gulf Shores has to offer.

Enjoy beautiful views of the Gulf from our spacious deck. The beach is located just 150 yards from our front door. The views continue inside the home where you can see the water from the living room, dining room and even while mixing drinks in the kitchen!

Our living room is the perfect place for the family to relax and enjoy the view. A 60 inch tv makes this a perfect room to watch a movie or catch the game. The couch pulls out for an extra sleeping space. The dining table is the perfect spot to enjoy a family meal or play a game or do a puzzle.

A spacious master suite includes a king bed, 40 inch tv, large master bath with his and her vanities, separate shower and tub and walk in closet. Two other bedrooms provide comfortable queen size beds with the 4th bedroom set up with bunkbeds, full on the bottom and full on the top, and a pullout couch in the living room that is great for kids. There are 2 other full baths so there is plenty of room for the entire family.

The home features crown molding throughout and the modern kitchen includes granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked with all new cookware and accessories.

The kids' room a pack n play for smaller children. Our home is designed to be very family friendly.

We feature a large clean area below the house with an outdoor shower and grill along with plenty of seating. This is another great area to relax with the family and enjoy a game or a drink. We have covered parking for 4 cars and can fit another 4 in the driveway. The home has 2 units and we are the lower unit. Parking is on the right side of the home when facing the driveway.

This was our second year staying at this property (Wine Down). We Love staying here, everything you need is there. You are close to everything and just a short walk to the beach. Enjoyed spending time with Bobby and Steve (Santa Clause). We have already booked Wine Down for 31 Dec 2020 and Jan/Feb 2021. There is no reason not to have a great time at Wine Down. Diane & Larry

We came down for a wedding, 7 family members. this place was perfect for all of us. we loved the balcony and the downstairs seating area, we spent hours sitting outside at night. You can hang a hammock under the house too! the outdoor shower is also very nice. there was plenty of room for all our cars. the beach is only one block away and very easy to get to. Loved the spacious kitchen and living room area. the master suite is huge!! will definitely stay here again!! and it was also a good price for the size on the condo. conveniently located near Waves- a grocery store, fresh seafood market, and a restaurant.

TOO MUCH WORK, SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS, WILL NOT GET FULL DEPOSIT BACK

Despite the elaborate demands of this condo owner and the constant supervision of the property manager (who lives above the condo) we still had a decent trip. When I booked I did not realize there was a large “refundable” damage deposit. After booking I decided to roll with it. I have never had an experience where we did not get our deposit back. Our family travels every summer and we have stayed in places across Florida and Alabama. Here are a few things to be aware of before booking this condo thinking you are getting a good price: The property manager lives on the premises and is constantly outside watching what you and your guests are doing. He has a white beard and calls himself Santa. He automatically attracts the children and it was a little strange. It got to the point that I had to tell the kids to stay away from him. He kept giving them little gifts and trinkets and luring them to talk. It just made me uncomfortable. Unfortunately you do not see the elaborate (20 to be exact) cleaning instructions till right before your trip. Despite the typical turn lights off, load dishwasher, and take out trash; it is also required that you strip beds, vacuum, carry all towels to the master bedroom, and numerous other things that are too many to list. We cleaned this condo, swept, vacuumed, wiped everything down, stripped sheets, literally worked up a sweat cleaning this place AFTER we took all of our items out of it. The trash cans downstairs were full to the brim when we checked in and we had no where to dispose of our trash. We had to find another trash can to use. At the last minute one of my family members was able to have her children come along. The kids ages were 8, 6, and 2. I did not include them when I originally booked the condo. This did not seem like it would be any type of issue. Well I was wrong. Apparently property manager keeps count of who comes and goes into the condo since he is constantly outside watching you (JUST READ THE REVIEWS) . The owners decided to only refund Half of my deposit AND ACCUSED ME OF HAVING 17 PEOPLE in their condo!! Insane! The owner admitted there WERE NO DAMAGES stating "Our home is not designed to accommodate that many individuals. Our rental pricing and cleaning fees are also based on a maximum of 10 individuals.Based on this I'm unable to refund 100% of your deposit.” So no damages and because of my 3 small children you charge me anextra night in addition to the already HUGE CLEANING FEE

Perfect Family Vacation

This house is perfect!! We have stayed here twice now, and I will continue to look for this particular listing in the future. It is clean, the location is great, and there’s plenty of room indoors and outdoors to enjoy time with your family! We traveled with ten family members (8 adults, 2 children), and everyone was happy with the restaurants that were close by and easy to get to, the beach access, and the short walk to the Little Lagoon (PERFECT spot for little kids on red flag days)!! I cannot recommend this property enough!

WineDown is owned by the Wargo and Ulshafer families of Suwanee, GA. The Wargo family is made up of Stephanie and 10 year old daughter Piper. The Ulshafers are Paul and Sue and daughters Shelby and Laura. Our families are close friends and neighbors. Sue watches Piper during the week and has since she was very little. We purchased WineDown for our families to escape the hectic work lives we lead in Atlanta and are excited to share it with you.
